Le Tiboeuf Montreal Restaurant: Menu, Reviews & Reserve (2026)
CreoleGrill

Review Summary

Le Tiboeuf comes across as a casual, unpretentious Haitian spot where the meat is often praised for being tender and flavorful, with griot and tassot highlighted, generous portions, and fresh, fragrant sides like rice and plantains; many reviewers call it a hidden gem and a dependable place for authentic Haitian cuisine near the campus, noting quick service and a welcoming, laid-back vibe, and the impression is that the food is consistently tasty and satisfying, making it a solid choice for takeout or a casual meal and inspiring repeat visits. However, there are caveats: the pikliz can be too liquid and not spicy enough on some orders, a salad may be overly vinegared in certain visits, and a few experiences mention less warmth from staff or occasional inconsistency in the kitchen, while student pricing is seen as a plus and the overall verdict remains favorable with multiple mentions of returning.

My first time trying Haitian food & it was amazing!

Everything was so flavourful.
The portion size was very good.
I have no complaints.

Very tasty & fresh! I had the LE TI COCHON (GRIOT). The Griot was not dry, but very moist & I could pull it apart with a spoon. 🤪 The rice. & salad were fresh & the sauce was flavourful. The pikliz was disappointing! It smelled good & had flavour , BUT where was the spice? You need more scotch bonnets in the batch of pikliz you made today!! 🙁I will go back!! The plantains were fresh, could have been a bit crispier for my taste. still very good. The (plantains)were not dried out or soft. As others have said it's a bit of a hidden gem. I stopped by for lunch, everything was super fresh! Next time you think of going to Lulu's Pasta Bar, try something different & have some Haitian food just down the street.

Best Haitian joint in Montreal! Not made really to eat there- more for takeaway. Large & generous portions. We loved everything- we got porc & beef. Plantains were a bit dense & on the bitter side. Would recommend!

One of the few Haitian/Caribbean spots downtown. Spot might be easy to miss but I consider to be a hidden gem. I got the Griot. Everything was made to order. The pork was crispy & juicy. The pasta salad was delicious & creamy. The plantains were fresh & well fried. My only gripe is that if you order the large they will just give you more rice.

This was pretty basic stuff. Not very attractive or tasty food. Unfortunately no English menu or server. Use Google translate in order to communicate our orders & that proved to be of limited success. We kind of got whatever, she pointed at Maybe our fault for not knowing French? I don't feel so. Had "digestive issues" for the entire following day. I'll try a different place next time I want this kind of stuff, but I probably won't ever want Haitian food again.

This is my go to Haitian restaurant near me. Super reliable & the presentation is also the nicest I've seen from a Haitian restaurant. Love the Tassot beef.

Most amazing griot & boeuf ragout! So tender & juicy, didn't even need to add sauce on it! We were a group a four & we all agreed this was the best Haitian we have had!

This place is absolutely delicious. I love Haitian food & as a native New Yorker I have had a lot of Haitian food & this place is my favorite. I would recommend getting their goat because it’s juicy & crispy. YUM!
