Le Pois Penche has everything to satisfy a sea food lovers dream. The wide selection of seafood platters & individual items makes a great balance to try all foods as well as indulge on your favourite. The quality & taste was authentic & the entire dining experience was elevated by the ambiance, selection of silverware, & the atmosphere - was not uptight. Guillaume (our server) was very friendly & made the whole experience better as well:) 10/10 worth every penny

Classic & classy French bistro with good comfort food. It's looks very "old school" but felt more cozy & pleasant than expected with the very friendly service. Simple but yet delicious menu.

Food is good but the service not so much I was there for a business lunch with my clients, & the experience wasn't great at all 😕 Our server, Mr. Dragan wasn't professional at all. I asked for a Perrier water, & he said we don't have. Asked for some soda water from the bar instead, he said they don't have. I reminded him that there is always soda water at the bar he repeated there is not. When I insisted, he went & got it. My wife ordered a salad, which she never got before the meal. Once our meal was served, I asked for some peppercorn sauce he told me there was none. I was surprised & told him, "What do you mean you don't have? His answer was there is, but it will take 10 minutes to get it. I was surprised again & gave him a look. 2 minutes later, he showed up with the sauce 🤷 I guess he wasn't having a good day...

Jai ete au Pois Penché pour offrir une soirée à mes meilleures clientes. Elles etaient vraiment contentes d'être là & chacune a aimé ce qu'elle avait commandé à l'excwptiin d'une. Omar, le gérant, lui a remplaçé le plat par un autre & je n'ai pas été chargé. Ça c'est ce que je considère comme du bon service client. & notre serveuse Rachelle était à l'écoute & très gentille. La pieuvre grillée est un régale. Bonne ambiance. Ce que j'ai surtout apprécié c'est que l'on s'entend parlé sans être noyé dans le bruit. Les portions sont généreuses. Vraiment , je recommande chaudement ce restaurant & je vais y retourner.

We spent two nights in Montreal recently & were told to come here & to L'Express. The latter, to which we went on the second night, was recommended as the best restaurant near to our hotel but we found Le Pois Penche to be far better! The food (some of our choices included onion soup, duck, bouillabaisse, brûlée flambe, & an out-of-this-world Old Fashioned) was outstanding. The service was phenomenal, provided largely but not exclusively by Guillaume, but supplemented by a well organized team of servers. The ambience could not have been better & it managed to avoid the blisteringly loud noise level of L'Express the next night. We will be back in Montreal & will definitely visit Le Pois Penche.

This is my first time having dinner here & was spontaneous so I didn't know what to expect... but I really enjoyed my dinner!! It was quite good. Our waiter was nice, but the service time was a bit slow. I like the look of the restaurant, I think it has a good vibe. I'd come again to try something else :)

The food here exceeded our expectations in both presentation & taste. Everything was absolutely delicious & beautifully prepared. The service was attentive & efficient, & the atmosphere was very pleasant, not too loud. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner!

DO NOT SIT AT THE BAR. If you do, you have the chance of being seated near a male customer who will not take "no" for an answer. He is apparently a daily regular & the staff seem to tolerate him well, but I ended up being cornered in a very awkward conversation. When he started saying racist things about his Mexican-American in-laws, I begged for the bill & left behind an expensive glass of wine & half-eaten dinner. The food was very fine, but my memory of this place will always be how uncomfortable I was made to feel while I was there.
