Both were massive portions with loads of protein & sauces. Everything was cooked perfectly & the flavours were wonderfully unique. The owner was extremely hospitable & kind & treated us as though we were regulars that he'd known a long time.
Free soup at a poutine place, my life has been changed for the better ❤??🩹❤??🩹❤??🩹
The high ratings attracted me & it had that old-school air to it that is typically a sign of very authentic food. We took our order to go but the pickup service was great, the boys who were working were good. Even hooked up an extra soup which was very nice. I want to say better things about the food but I can't without lying- my popcorn chicken poutine didn't impress. The gravy was the weakness for me, just did not hit. To make it worse, the popcorn chicken had a tangy, general tsao-esque flavour to them which completely clashed with the poutine flavours. Was not a fan of the dish. The menu is pretty small too. My friend got the burger soup combo. It's cool that they offer soup in a burger combo, that is uncommon. Soup was average but he said the burger was just ok too.
We took poutine & it lacks seasoning for the fries. Fries actually tasted a bit weird. Service was cold & impatient.
Love this place! I don't eat out much but when I do this is a great local option. I had a simple poutine, delicious. Soup is also a great bonus. Kind & welcoming. Those who complain about the lack of french staff, Verdun is a historically English neighborhood, you may not like it, but seriously it's not a big deal, get over yourself & learn basic English so you can order food, it's not that hard.
La soupe est excellente, le smash Burger;très bonne portion, les frites sont bonne sans oublier leur poutine excellente le fromage est généreux !
