Review Summary

Reviews portray Le Petit Alep Bistro as delivering bold Syrian Lebanese flavors and a warm, attentive service, with many diners calling it authentic and among the best in Montreal; the menu and tasting flights are often recommended, and the overall dining experience is described as flavorful, hospitable, and good value for the quality. However, several comments caution that portions can be small for the price and a number of dishes can be overly acidic, particularly in tasting courses, leading to some disappointments despite strong flavors. The atmosphere is described as intimate and lively depending on the night, with noted strengths in the hummus moujadara kebabs and other classics, and a notable wine or sommelier component; some experiences mention miscommunication about the menu, slow or uneven service, or heat and noise affecting comfort. Taken together, the consensus points to a standout Levantine dining option with superb flavors and service, but for some there are considerations about price, portion size, and balance of acidity.

Food is tasty however some dishes were not the same level. The atmosphere is really nice. It was a bit overpriced.

Everything was delicious. It's easier to come in a group & order a few starters plus 1-2 main dishes. It's more than enough. Bravo au chef!

I had heard a lot about this place, & it came highly recommended by some friends. So, I decided to give it a try, but to be honest, it didn't live up to the hype. Initially, I was excited as I browsed the menu & recognized some familiar dishes, but that excitement quickly faded. The menu was missing many of Aleppo's signature dishes, such as Kebbeh Safarjalieh & Kebab Betinjan (aubergine kebab). We started with Yalandji (stuffed vine leaves), which unfortunately were chewy & lacked freshness. The Fattoush was also disappointing, with a very small portion size. After that, we had to wait almost 45 minutes for our main courses; Kebab Khish Khach & Shish Tawouk. Both dishes were underwhelming. The Shish Tawouk came with only one skewer & just a few pieces of bread. We even had to order garlic sauce & fries separately to go with the dish. As someone of Syrian origin, I found the kebab dish particularly lacking in flavor. On the bright side, despite the long wait for our main courses, the service was good, & the staff were friendly. The atmosphere of the place wasn't bad either, but considering the prices, the overall experience fell short in terms of both service level & food quality.

This place was a really great discovery! We went as a group of 6, some of us had been there before, but not me. The waiter recommended that they choose the dishes for us so we can get a taste of everything & we went with that option. One of us was a Celiac & they were able to accommodate the plates & the dishes for him. without a problem! We also weren't sure what to drink & they had a Sommelier that came & recommended wine for us for each of the servings. Both the waiter & Sommelier were super nice, joked with us, had great sense of humor & the food was just Soooo delicious. Every plate was detailed by our waiter to let us know what we were eating & why it was different, where some ingredients came from, etc... everything was just so good & the wine pairings was perfect as well. I can't say I had a favorite dish because everything was so good but also tasted different from the slow cooked lamb, filet mignon, kefka, hummus.. what a feast for the taste buds. Our Celiac friend was able to enjoy it all as well. I will definitely be going back here in the future. The price in the end for sure isn't for everyone, but you can go there & just get a plate, don't need to do what we did & prices were looking fair. I still think that considering all the food we ate & three bottles of wine & some other drinks, the price was really good.
