Recommended to me by William, bartender over at The Keg steakhouse (another must visit), Le Passé Composé was absolutely fantastic. Pictured is their'Authentic Grilled Cheese' which was sweet, savory, decadent & oh so good!
Our server was wonderful, was able to answer all of our questions & made some great drinks as well!
Highly recommend you give this place a try if you really want a delicious & luxurious brunch!

Notre serveur était merveilleux, il a pu répondre à toutes nos questions & nous a préparé de superbes boissons !

15mn d'attente pour se faire assoir malgré notre réservation, beaucoup de trop de temps pour se faire servir nos plats, des plats très gras, & un mal de ventre pour deux personnes sur quatre tout l'après midi après le brunch…

Had brunch at Le Passé Composé today with a friend, & it was fantastic! We both love cheese, so the grilled cheese sandwich & soup combo was perfect-rich, flavorful, & comforting. Très bon brunch! Les plats sont savoureux & relativement les mêmes que le leur ancienne adresse dans le Village, mais moins lourds (donc moins de gaspillage & toujours assez copieux!). Le lieu est joli, plus classe qu'avant, & partagé avec le Taj, qui prend le relais le soir. Le plus: La gaufre aux fruits est un bonheur en bouche! La petite note: les oeufs pochés de deux de nos plats étaient un peu trop cuits, mais le service est très attentionné. Ils nous en ont apporté de nouveaux très rapidement pour compenser :)View more

I ordered the "Rustic" Bénédicte with Pork, & it was nothing short of perfection. The pork was tender, marinated, & pulled with care, while the fried mushrooms added a rich, earthy aroma that beautifully complemented the dish. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors, akin to salted heaven. Meanwhile, my friend indulged in their fruit & waffles, which were as much a feast for the eyes as for the palate. The presentation was stunning, resembling a piece of art adorned with cream & delicate flower petals. The upscale yet unpretentious ambiance made the experience all the more delightful. The portions were generous, leaving us thoroughly satisfied but eager to return & explore more of their menu. In fact, we were so impressed that we reserved another visit on the spot! Brace yourself for some seriously DELICIOUS sandwiches! Amazing taste, cute place & veeeeery nice staff. With its art deco design, this restaurant gives a very romantic setting for a brunch/lunch/coffee date. As for the food, tasty, fresh, delicious, in one word, AMAZING! I tried a lot of sandwiches places in this specific neighborhood, & it's the first time I want seconds! I recommend the classic & the club. Finally, the coffee is also delicious & very flavorful. Also, if you want to try the brunch, make a reservation in advance, a lot of demand & for a very good reason, delicious food ! A popular brunch spot in town & had to try it while visiting Montréal. We went there in the morning around 10AM with a reservation. There were a lot of empty seats near by but I would reserve if possible just to be safe. The waffles were delicious, very buttery & pairs well with the flavoured cream & fresh fruits. The mango lime smoothie is very refreshing & has a unique flavour profile. The lamb sandwich was also delicious, & came with a side of either French fries or potatoes. All ingredients are very fresh & service was nice. Overall, a must try while visiting Montréal.View more

Habituée du passé composé depuis 2021 & très fortement déçue des changements depuis la réouverture dans le vieux Montréal. La portion des oeufs bénédicte a été réduite de moitié, ce n'est maintenant plus qu'un seul toast avec un seul oeuf, mais le prix lui en revanche n'a pas diminué... Il s'agirait d'une décision pour "éviter le gaspillage alimentaire", dans ce cas un ajustement sur les prix serait fortement apprécié car je ne conseillerais à personne d'aller payer +60$ pour un brunch & sortir en ayant encore faim.View more

Quantités divisées de moitié pour un prix plus cher... Il n'y a désormais plus que 1 oeuf pour les oeufs benedictes (d'après la serveuse car avant il y avait trop de gaspillage. ok, mais alors pourquoi le prix reste identique On passe de 2 toasts à 1 pour le même prix lol). Nous avions une réservation mais nous avons été placé 30mn plus tard... suivi de 50mn d'attente pour recevoir nos plats. À 13h, 1/4 de la carte n'était plus dispo (dont des boissons)... pas étonnant vu la différence de prix entre les grilled cheese (30$) qui sont quand même gros Vs les oeufs benedictes (alors que nous avions encore très faim après ça) à 38-40$ ... Seul point positif : la salle est sympa. Trop cher pour ce que c'est devenu. Nous étions 4, 4 extrêmement déçus par ce « brunch ».View more

Plutôt décevant, l'esprit du Passé Composé de jadis n'y est plus. Les assiettes sont chères & on a pas eu l'impression d'en avoir pour notre argent, soit en terme de goût ou en terme de quantité. Les tables sont misérablement petites, parfaite pour le 5@7, mais pas vraiment adéquate pour le brunch, on était tout coincé. Point positif, il y a maintenant plus d'options végétariennes au menu. Malgré cette avancée, on n'y retournera pas.View more

Definitely not impressed. I'll start by saying that the location is beautiful & the atmosphere is lovely. The food was good but for an average of $35 a plate I was expecting more specially if we compare with other brunch places. The service was not the best, the waitress didn't know what was the mimosa premium or mimosa of the day, she didn't know if allergies can be accommodated so she had to go back & forth to ask. For that price I was expecting for the food to come out at the same time & there was a 5 minute difference between my plate & my friend's. My meal came with a side but there was no soup left & the potatoes came after all the dishes were served. In general I don't think I'll be going back... Overpriced, missing items & the service is not matching the price tag...View more

Service: - Waited for 40+ mins for the food - Served us the wrong side & the side arrived after we finished the main plate Food: - Taste is ok but it arrived cold Environment: Loved the vibe but the small tables for two along the sofa can barely fit 2 main plates. I don't understand why they even bother serving brunch there - it's so small that it should only be meant for drinks & small plates for two people.
