The entrance is actually in the park square & not on the street. I'm glad the chef has been recognized for his talent & had the opportunity to upscale. It's so fancy now. It's also bigger to accommodate more people. I kind of liked the old wood picnic tables though. There's a huge bar with many alcoholic & non alcoholic drink options. The food is perfect as always (I got the mushroom toast). I would suggest more vegetarian & vegan options, but I guess that's expected from a place most known for its foie gras & marrow dishes.View more

Today we were a group of 9 for a very special brunch. The ambience & restaurant was great & very clean. Service absolutely outstanding. Many of our group ordered different types of grilled cheeses & I ordered the French Toast (highly suggested from many customers on Google). Presentation & quality of ingredients impeccable. Our big disappointment was twofold…my french toast at first bite, crunchy, sweet but oh so deep fried. If you like fried dough or beaver tales, then you are in for a treat. But way too'oily' for my taste. The grilled cheeses were the same. Way too oily to everyone's liking. Perhaps it was just today, but was disappointing.View more

2025: new location: the lamb sandwich was delicious. Great portions. The side soup was a nice blend of squash sweet potato & coconut. My'green' cocktail was smooth. Pleasant service. Nice decor.
2023: old location: The forest grilled cheese was perfect & very filling. The side of panko French toast & the side salad were pretty good too. My friend enjoyed her smoked salmon bagel. The ananerable was a great cocktail. The pastis lemonade unfortunately was overpowered by the pastis. Friendly service. Decent decor.View more
Very nice restaurant. Bright, clean & comfortable environment.
We got seated on a nice table but being in the corner means it's a little harder to get service at first. The waitress was very attentive after introducing herself.
The atmosphere was very nice, no complaint at all.
Food wise, the foie gras toast was amazing! The bone marrow was alright, nothing too special. The fresh juice was nice.
Will go again but probably try other dishes & maybe go for dinner next time.
Definitely a place you need to make reservations early.View more

The food tasted great, & the atmosphere was amazing. The service messed up on an allergy, so the food got delayed, but the staff was very nice. The issue mainly was that out of the 6 of us, all 6 got ill to some extent. The two sickest (threw up) got the french toast(be careful)! The rest spent most of the day on the toilet (yuck)! We're not sure what happened, but it was the only thing we all ate together. Food was tasty, (& expensive) but prepare yourself for a world of pain.View more
Habituée du passé composé depuis 2021 & très fortement déçue des changements depuis la réouverture dans le vieux Montréal. La portion des oeufs bénédicte a été réduite de moitié, ce n'est maintenant plus qu'un seul toast avec un seul oeuf, mais le prix lui en revanche n'a pas diminué... Il s'agirait d'une décision pour "éviter le gaspillage alimentaire", dans ce cas un ajustement sur les prix serait fortement apprécié car je ne conseillerais à personne d'aller payer +60$ pour un brunch & sortir en ayant encore faim.View more

Il n'y a désormais plus que 1 oeuf pour les oeufs benedictes (d'après la serveuse car avant il y avait trop de gaspillage. ok, mais alors pourquoi le prix reste identique On passe de 2 toasts à 1 pour le même prix lol). Nous avions une réservation mais nous avons été placé 30mn plus tard... suivi de 50mn d'attente pour recevoir nos plats. À 13h, 1/4 de la carte n'était plus dispo (dont des boissons)... pas étonnant vu la différence de prix entre les grilled cheese (30$) qui sont quand même gros Vs les oeufs benedictes (alors que nous avions encore très faim après ça) à 38-40$ ... Seul point positif : la salle est sympa. Trop cher pour ce que c'est devenu. Nous étions 4, 4 extrêmement déçus par ce « brunch ».View more
Not a very pleasant experience at the restaurant. We visited this place as my friend loved their fois gras & she was so looking forward to having it again. However, the dish was so disappointing as she said it's nothing like what's she'd tried at her first visit. I ordered a French Toast for myself & it was super greasy as you can see on the video. This is not how French Toast supposed to be. On a side note, a waitress also spilt my iced coffee on me. She apologised, walked away, never came back to check on me again. I told the waiter who was helping us about it & he changed the chair for me as it was wet. We also had to wait so long for the food to be served. It was the worst start to our day yet I appreciated Arthur's services & for being very helpful.View more
Came for brunch, excellent service as well as the food. A side dish was a bit late & they brought a side of French toast which was an excellent gesture. Which also changed my mind about how I see French toast. A great place for a fancy brunch.View more
The best brunch in mtl ! It's worth the wait. I recommend going early as there's always a line. The foie gras poached eggs is delicious & very filling. Brioche bread, poached goose eggs, grade "A" foie gras (Rougié), foie gras sauce, onion jam, prosciutto chips, poppy seeds, arugula sprouts, honey-glazed turnips. It's so rich, so good. Their panko French toast is also a great dish. Highly recommend.View more

I really enjoyed eating at this place. The food is carefully thought out & the ambiance of the restaurant was great overall. We had the poached eggs with bone marrow & the maritimes one & both had their distinct flavour. The bone marrow had a generous portion & the maritime one too! However, the star of the show was the panko french toast. It was easily one of the best french toast I had. The texture of the panko just gives it its wow factor! The only dissapointment I had was that when we asked our new plates to be replaced since they were dirty , the waiter that we asked for (which was not our waiter) took them & threw the new plates back to us. Overall I would still recommend this place for the panko french toast that is amazing!View more
Food is great but they seem have staff shortage problem, only 2 servers with full capacity. Come & try the signature French toast & foie gras with 2 poached eggs. It was delicious! The only one I don't like is the strawberry smoothie is too sweet, they added yoghurt. However, Will be back again to try other dishes.View more

French toast are the absolutly best ! Pour les gens plus "salés" l'Oeuf pocchés des maritimes est exquis & copieux. À l'inverse, tu dois plutôt avoir une dent TRÈS sucrée pour manger le crumble Key Lime Pie ! Tout était bon dans tous les cas !View more
J'avais vu un avis datant d'un an qui disait qu'il n'y avait tjrs pas d'option végétalienne. Je confirme il n'y en a tjrs pas à ce jour & ils ne font pas d'accommodation. J'ai donc du me tourner vers des toasts & des fruits pour 15$. J'ai du demander du beurre de peanut & on m'a signifié que c'était pour le staff seulement pour ensuite me dire qu'ils peuvent faire une exception. Wow la générosité. Pour vrai c'était quelque peu malpoli surtout que j'étais la seule de mon groupe qui était végane & donc ce n'étais pas comme s'ils perdaient de l'argent à m'offrir des options. The price is outrageous! I basically paid $40 for a breakfast plate with 2 eggs (they give you goose eggs), 2 thick slices of spongy toast & mushroom soup all over the plate. Not much variety in the way of mushrooms, super rich & lacking texture (there were chips but they were burnt) & variety of flavours in my opinion to make the dish exciting. Service was nice, portions are massive so you could share, food came out super quick & the place had a nice vibe for breakfast.View more
Le Passé Composé is one of the most decadent brunches I've had in my life - & for a very reasonable price. & what I also loved was the laid-back & chill vibe of the restaurant itself.
I really only went for the foie gras poached eggs. The foie gras was nicely cooked & the sauce that they made was incredibly creamy & not too heavy/fatty. The onion jam & turnips were also nice additions for you to make a perfect bite, with extra textures & flavor. For the actual poached eggs, they were perfectly runny LOL. The brioche buns were also buttery & airy, & WAY better than the American's sad excuse of the thing they serve eggs Benedict on.
The panko french toast was also so good- i didnt know how much the panko changed French toast, but it did open my eyes. The toast was not soggy at all, & the panko added a nice extra crisp for texture. The caramelized pears were well cooked, not mushy, & deliciously slightly cinnamon-y.
I would definitely share the foie gras poached eggs, as it would've been too much for one person (have u ever tried eatin too much foie gras? Ur arteries start crying. plus u can try more of the menu!)View more
Very good bunch. We ordered Foie Gras Poached Eggs & French toast. My four old school friends from US were impressed.
I was expecting to get a table at 12h30 with my reservation but I understand that the restaurant was fully packed. We were still able to get a table 15min after our reservation. The food was pretty good & worth the wait. We had a Tartiflette breakfast, a passé composé sandwich & a side of french toast. They were all excellent & I recommend the side of french toast if it's not included in your meal. The french toast is like a gourmet Queue de castor & that's pretty good. Also I really enjoyed the side of fries with a light cream cheese, way better combination then I expected & the cream cheese was really light so it wasnt overwhelming. One thing to note is that the Tartiflette breakfast was really heavy, so get ready for a nap afterwards or bring the leftovers at home. Overall, it's on the expensive side but honestly worth the price & the wait. Food was great.
Food is always amazing! We had to wait a lot even with a reservation but it just shows how good this place is. I understand that's it's not the staff's fault & they're the sweetest! Panko french toast is a MUST!
