Really beautiful food, kind service, lovely people & a pretty terrace. Thoroughly enjoyed our supper here. The lamb with turmeric (Yebeg Alicha) was my favourite but I'm glad we got the tasting menu so I got to try so many great dishes!
Best Ethiopian food (& Ethiopian restaurant experience) that I ever had! The interior is very chic & modern, with food very artfully arranged on the platters. We had the tasting menu for two, & it was just the right amount to feel the right amount of full. We enjoyed a bottle of South African wine, which we did not have a chance to try before, & it made for a lovely pairing. Staff was excellent & attentive; no problem at all not being able to speak very good French. We felt like guests rather than customers. If we were local, this would be a regular spot for us. Next time we are in Montreal, we will be back.

We dined on the on the patio, it was a beautiful summer evening. The food was delicious. We had the tasting menu for two as well as some honey wine. Service was excellent.
this restaurant has been in business for decades in the rapid come-&-go rhythm of Montreal restaurants, a sure mark of quality & good management. from the first step into this lovely restaurant, the smells of delicious food invade your nose & head & all of a sudden, you're STARVING! i always order the tasting menu, sometimes the vegan platter (like last night), sometimes the meat one. they are both savoury & delicious, wrapped in enjera, if there's anything left, i HAVE to take it home for a later meal. The service is elegant & friendly, & the place, even on a Wednesday night, is often packed. reservations highly recommended to avoid disappointment. they now have a terrasse, which on a warm summer night will be a treat.
Nil Bleu/Blue Nile is superb - so good, we went twice during the same trip to Montréal! Beautifully prepared Ethiopian food in an elegant, comfortable space, with friendly, attentive service. The two-course tasting menu offered a great selection of nine dishes from the larger menu - all were excellent & beautifully presented, with the Kitfo & eggplant appetizer both standing out. The Yebeg Alicha is now my all-time favourite lamb dish, anywhere (& the reason we went back & ordered à la carte!). The menu also offers extensive vegan/vegetarian options, & the drinks were top notch. Can't wait to go back!
What a delightful experience. We had the tasting menu & every single item had an interesting & unique flavor to it. The staff are lovely. The restaurant is actually on two floors, so there is ample seating & the atmosphere stays calm & quiet
The food was absolutely delicious, the tasting menu is definitely the way to go! Servers were friendly, but before we even finished, in the middle of our dinner the waiter came to ask how we wanted to split the bills as the server was changing. If they knew they were not going to end the service in time I feel like asking at the time of ordering would be less disruptive. Then the replacement server came but disappeared & we were just left waiting to order our desserts. Finally a 3rd person came & said he had an emergency & had to leave so she was taking over. The servers were very pleasant, but I find it was a bit disorganized, though understandably emergencies happen, so I still give service 4 stars. The atmosphere was beautiful but our table was too close to the group next to us & one person was loud & obnoxious which was annoying, especially so close to us. Overall I'd definitely go back!
Possibly the best restaurant in Montreal. I had the tasting menu with a few friends. Glowing reviews from everyone. Everything was delicious & gluten free too.
