I've been dining at Le Nil Blue for nearly nine years, & it remains one of those rare places that never disappoints. The atmosphere is elegant & welcoming, with a high-class feel that still manages to be comfortable & relaxed. The staff are always kind, attentive, & genuinely friendly, which makes every visit enjoyable.
One thing that always stands out is the cleanliness of the restaurant - everything is well kept & organized, which adds to the overall quality of the experience. The food is excellent, full of flavor & depth. Their dishes have a real punch to them, with a special blend of spices that brings out incredible taste, especially in their vegetarian options, which are seasoned beautifully.
What impresses me even more is their consistency. Despite the high quality of food & service, they have kept their prices reasonable &, as far as I can remember, they haven't changed them in the nine years I've been coming here. That kind of honesty & dedication to customers is rare today.
Blue is truly a gem - great atmosphere, delicious food, friendly staff, & remarkable value. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

We just had a fantastic meal here! It was not too crowded but by the time we left it was bustling. Really good, fresh, flavorful. Wonderful attention from our server too. I highly recommend!

My wife & I were staying at the hotel & we're lucky enough to eat dinner here one night; amazing! We have had Ethiopian food before, & this was by far the best experience. The food, the service, the drinks & the atmosphere were all fantastic & I highly recommend it to others. If you have never had Ethiopian food before, then you owe it to yourself to check this place out, you will not be disappointed!
We were visiting Montreal from Texas & ate at this restaurant on our last night in town. The food was fabulous. We had only eaten Ethiopian food once before & weren't sure we were fans. We are now! We had the meat & vegetable tasting menu & liked everything. The spices & the freshness were very appetizing. It was a large amount of food & we couldn't finish it all as much as we wanted to. The people that worked there were very friendly & accommodating. If we lived in town this would be one of our go to establishments. Highly recommend it.
highly recommend the sharing plate which had loads to choose from. Every dish was flavourful & complementary. Do not skip out on the veggie plates because they are just as delicious as the meat ones. The main dishes were flawless. You could skip on the appetizers & cocktails. The decor & ambiance were lovely & service was good.
Nil Bleu is amazing! We stayed at the neighbouring Kutuma hotel during our visit to Montreal. The flavours were well balanced & thoughtful. It was shared with us that the spices are imported from Ethiopia & you can tell, each dish was so delicious. Highly recommend!

The service was, without a doubt, off the charts. We were greeted with such genuine enthusiasm & attentiveness that we immediately felt welcomed & valued. Our server was knowledgeable, patient in explaining the menu, & incredibly attentive throughout our meal, anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. This level of service is a true testament to the dedication of the staff.
Beyond the exceptional service, the spotless cleanliness of Le Nil Bleu was truly remarkable. The entire restaurant, from the dining area to the immaculate bathrooms, was pristine. This attention to detail speaks volumes about the care & pride the owners take in their establishment.
& then there was the food… simply authentic & beyond all expectations. Each dish was a vibrant explosion of flavors, clearly prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients & traditional techniques. The injera was perfectly spongy, the stews were rich & aromatic, & every bite was a delight. It was a true taste of Ethiopia, & we savored every moment. Even the coffee, a cornerstone of Ethiopian culture, was exceptional - a rich & aromatic end to a perfect meal.
Le Nil Bleu manages to be both quaint & upscale simultaneously. The ambiance is charming & inviting, with thoughtful touches that elevate the dining experience. If you're looking for the best Ethiopian food in Montreal, look no further than Blue Nile! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm & inviting, & the service was truly exceptional. Nedia went above & beyond, making us feel like valued guests. She even walked us out personally & thanked us for coming-such a thoughtful touch! As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. The vegetarian options were bursting with flavor, especially the gomen, which was absolutely the best I've ever had. Each dish was perfectly spiced, fresh, & beautifully presented, making it clear that the chefs at Blue Nile know exactly what they're doing. The entire experience-amazing food, impeccable service, & a welcoming ambiance-earned them a solid 5 stars in my book. Nice presentation & ambiance. Had the tasting menu which were generous portions, difficult to finish. First time trying ethiopian food, everything was varied & excellent! Would highly recommend.
It feels like I was in a resort the whole atmosphere , the service was nice & very great foods. I would highly recommend the tasting menu also the hummus & beef tartare was delicious. so many vegan options, perfect spot to come with your vegetarian friends
The Blue Nile was recommended to us, so we went while enjoying an overnight in Montreal. It was a warm evening in October, & we were seated by the front window with a great view on Rue Denis. The serving staff & chef were exceptionally attentive, & the food & drinks were delicious. I look forward to returning in the future. Highly recommended.
