Le Café Big Trouble appears in reviews as a cozy quirky cafe with a lush plant filled vibe and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere; the staff are consistently described as friendly and attentive. The brunch and coffee are the stars, with pancakes and sourdough bread often highlighted, avocado toast praised for its generous portions, and dishes like burritos and sandwiches earning solid marks, while the coffee program is noted for balanced cappuccinos and tasty lattes. Portions are generally generous and prices fair, making it a reliable spot for a quick bite or a longer hangout. Some comments mention occasional slow service or wait times and a desire for online ordering to streamline the experience. Overall, Le Café Big Trouble is seen as a standout Montreal brunch destination and a cozy hub for locals and visitors alike, delivering memorable flavors, good value, and a welcoming ambiance, even if every visit comes with its own small hiccups.
The best breakfast I've had in some time. I ordered the breakfast sandwich which consists of egg, cheese, sausage & a homemade English muffin. I also had a side of potatoes. Everything is homemade. I'll definitely be back. I am genuinely surprised at some of the negative reviews.
Best breakfast on the island imo. The potato's are wildly crunchy all the food is amazing. The staff are amazing the service is great the vibes are on point. If you don't try it at least once you're crazy
Looooooveee this cafe sooo much. They have a great menu for brunch & have a wonderful staff. I had to wait a bit to get the food BUT the wait was worthwhile. The pancakes are ridiculously good (probably the best i have had), the french toast were so delicious, & the brunch burrito was very filling. The atmosphere of the cafe has every detail of pop 90s nostalgia & I adore it. I WILL be coming again!!
Incredible breakfast. Small menu but very adequate. Service was a little slow on the food but our drinks came quickly so we sipped while we waited. Food is well worth the wait & we expected the meal to come slowly because the place was packed on a Sunday morning at 11. Homemade sausage patties were some of the best I've ever tasted. Latte was also one of the best ice ever had. Great value at reasonable prices. Will come back next time we are in Montreal.
This is a cute cafe. There is no table service, you go to the counter but it works, they have self serve water & everything you need on the table. Staff is friendly, food is just okay & not a very big selection. They discontinued the tomato soup & grilled cheese so we had a hard time finding something else we wanted with the limited options. I would check it out again if they brought that back but probably not otherwise.
