Across the reviews, Le Café Big Trouble comes across as a lively, quirky cafe with a warm, welcoming vibe and a strong brunch and coffee scene in Montreal. The coffee is repeatedly praised, along with generous portions of pancakes, avocado toast, sourdough breads, breakfast burritos, and other playful dishes, many showcasing homemade touches. The atmosphere is described as fun, relaxed, and visually engaging, with eclectic décor, a friendly staff, and occasional music or projector moments that add to the experience. It is often called a hidden gem and a reliable spot to start the day or grab a quick bite, with several mentions of great service and good value. A few drawbacks appear: service can be slow or inconsistent during busy periods, some visits noted long waits for food, and a couple of comments about price or ordering options. Overall, Le Café Big Trouble is seen as a standout brunch and coffee destination that delivers on flavor, vibe, and community feel.
Stopped in a Saturday morning as a 5. The place was busy but we were greeted by a friendly tattooed man who said we could wait for a table or order & take away to their patio (deck on street). We were on our way to Formula 1 Race & chose the latter. He brought our coffee & juice drinks out & called our name for the rest. We had sausage, egg & cheese on muffins & homefries (deep fried chunks, yummy). Satisfying breakfast all around. Enjoy!

Ommggg, everything was soo delicious. All of this was 67$ but its worth every bite. The burrito was huge & filling! It had very healthy & familiar ingredients & the tortilla was also very yummy. The pancakes were also so very delicious! We absolutely loved the blueberry compote!! (Its homemade) My sister also didnt want the ricotta cheese on her pancakes, so i used it on my spring mix salad with my burrito, & please hear me out 🙈🙉🙊!! The potatoes were seasoned & a bit crispy, they werent to our liking but everything else did. I remember our food took a while, but it wasnt busy before us, so that also means the food was made from scratch & with intention. The service was also very very friendly & pleasant. The atmosphere was nice because the people that were here, seemed to know one another. I also loved the interior decor. We're definitely coming again, & with more friends!
Brunch vraiment délicieux!!
Malheureusement la musique était trop forte pour un dimanche matin & notre serveuse ne parlait qu'en anglais… (😭) & nous donne d'emblée les menus anglais alors qu'on a parlé qu'en français.
Go here! Go here now! Incredibley good, pancakes insanely good, Kayla is a gem. Decor is so soothing & quirky. Please do yourself a service & eat here.
I stopped by yesterday with a couple friends for the first time. Had a cappuccino & a breakfast sandwich. Coffee was excellent, & the breakfast sandwich (english muffin, cheese, sausage, egg) was out of this world! They make their own english muffins from scratch! So delicious. The atmosphere was retro 90s & 80s & such a comfortable vibe that I wanted to sit there all day. We were served by Connor & he was awesome. I'll be BACK!
Stayed nearby on a 3-day trip & made sure to stop here every day we were in town. Incredible sandwiches, especially the breakfast sandwich on a house-made English muffin. The service was excellent, especially given my poor French. & the vibes of this place are immaculate. Loved seeing the retro cartoons on the projector, & all the decor was whimsical & just awesome. Will definitely be back any time I'm in Montréal!

Si voulez une expérience typiquement montréalaise, visitez le café Big Trouble. Service franglais amical, ambiance funky & inclusive & la bouffe est incroyable. Je recommande chaudement!
A cozy cafe with good food & ample portion sizes. The service was exceptionally friendly & efficient. If I lived in Montreal, this cafe would be go to place to visit again.
Legally Blonde & Pancakes 🥞 . Perfect start to my birthday. The pancakes taste just like my mom's but with a zesty blueberry twist. I enjoyed every bite of nostalgia. Service was warm & friendly. Favorite restaurant in Montreal, will always come back here when I visit
