Review Summary

Le Café Big Trouble is widely celebrated as a charming neighborhood gem, praised for its eclectic, bohemian atmosphere and whimsical decor. Guests frequently highlight the high quality of the food, particularly the fluffy ricotta pancakes, hearty breakfast burritos, and house-made breads, noting that the portions are generous and flavorful. While the majority of visitors experience friendly, efficient, and welcoming service, some reviews point to inconsistencies, occasionally noting slow wait times or issues with service attentiveness during busy periods. Overall, it remains a highly recommended brunch destination for those seeking a unique, relaxed, and creative dining experience in the city.

Le Café Big Trouble is a true gem on Saint-Denis! We were immediately impressed by the charming décor, warm atmosphere, & genuinely friendly service.

The café is run by owners Madelene & Sergio. Originally from B.C., Madelene brings her passion for delicious food into the kitchen, while Sergio creates a welcoming experience at the front of the house. If you sit at the counter, the open-kitchen design lets you watch the magic happen!

We tried the tomato toast, pancakes, & burrito, & everything was outstanding. The flavours & textures were truly to die for-fresh, creative, & beautifully prepared.

A must-visit in Montreal. We will definitely be back!

Very welcoming & pleasant cafe. Food was great (avocado toast, salmon gravlax, orange juice). Drip coffee was'mid diner' unfortunately. Next time I'd trip an espresso drink instead. & there will be a next time because this place is great!

Indeed the pancakes were very nice, I tried some of my girlfriends.
I had a breakfast burrito, which was pretty good. With the addition of bacon.
Good coffee.
I liked the music when we were there, some decent hip hop.
Not to everyone's taste though

One of our favorite cafés in Montreal, a hidden gem (which is still busy lol). Truly one of the best avocado toast / breads in town, if you care about quality & not quantity. 🥑 Homemade sourdough bread, delicious avocado, pickled onions. 🤤 You don't need more fluff. & really reasonable pricing for the quality!

Such a lovely café with a warm, welcoming atmosphere & a relaxed, stylish vibe. I had the tomato toast, & it was absolutely delicious. The tomatoes were fresh & flavourful, & the lemon ricotta was amazing. It was creamy, bright, & the perfect addition. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared & beautifully presented. The café is a wonderful spot to enjoy great food, good company, & a comfortable atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!
