Since it opened in 1931, the Centre Eaton de Montréal’s iconic 9th floor restaurant has been known by Montrealers as “le neuvième”.
With La Grande Salle’s high ceiling and elegant architectural lines, Le 9e was among the first Art Deco interiors in the Province of Quebec, and is classified as a historic monument by the Ministry of Culture.
Lying dormant for twenty four years, Le 9e’s reopening in 2024 honours the past and embraces the future.

On retrouve avec plaisir l'ascenseur qui mène au 9e. Malheureusement, les tables sont installées dans le corridor & non dans la salle à manger. Ustensiles posés directement sur la table nue, sans même un napperon en papier. Nourriture très ordinaire. Présentation déprimante. La soupe au poulet est tiède. Le hamburger arrive seul dans une assiette blanche, garni de minces tranches de pickles avec un peu de fromage. Décevant. Frites raides & sèches immangeables en surplus pour 9$. L'eau de la tisane est tiède. Bref, nothing to write your mother about. À ne pas refaire...Malheureusement

Endroit mythique qui renaît, certaines parties sont bien reconditionnées mais la partie restaurant est dans l'ancien corridor, je croyais manger dans la salle de l'époque La nourriture est excellente & le service impeccable Par-contre un peu froid & extrêmement bruyant & la musique en rajoute, difficile de tenir une discussion avec ses amis à la même table

J'ai assisté à un spectacle d'un quatuor de chanteurs classiques acapella au 9ieme du centre Eaton. C'était un excellent spectacle. La salle a une belle acoustique. Je recommande cette expérience.

To begin with, the waiters were kind & service was overall good, with more than a few shortcomings. The decor is nice & stands out from other restaurants. But those are the only good things we noticed at Le 9e. Unfortunately, we had to wait an hour for our table of 5 (even though we had a reservation). I appreciate the staff for offering us appetizers & a drink in the meantime. After we were seated, it was another 45 minute wait for the food to arrive. We ended up eating at 10pm. Our original reservation was at 8:15pm. We ordered steak which arrived lukewarm. For a 42$ dish we expected a certain level of quality which was not met. The other guests were not impressed by the food either. Another thing we did not appreciate was the waiter looming directly behind us while each one of us was paying, as if to add pressure. That felt uncomfortable & unprofessional. Finally, we asked for takeout boxes for our left over food. I forgot my box & came back 2 minutes later to pick it up only to be said "sorry we threw it away". This was far from the level of service we expected at Le 9e, hence the 2 star review.

Agréablement surpris par l'excellent service, l'ambiance feutrée & très réconfortante, de même que les plats qui nous ont été servis (beignets d'homard, cocktail de crevettes, laitue Bibb, steak frites & saumon), tous délicieux !!!! Le restaurant est magnifique. & contrairement à bien d'autres restaurants, la température y est très agréable. 100% recommandé !

Lieu superbe, service à perfectionner. Le serveur n'arrêtait pas de gesticuler quand il parlait, à plusieurs reprises quand je lui parlais pour donner ma commande il est parti à d'autres tables s'occuper d'autres clients, j'ai trouvé ça curieux. La nourriture était bonne, mais j'avais encore faim après. 30$ pour le (petit) tartare de thon est accompagné de 4 feuilles de salade verte nature, pour le prix il aurait été souhaitable d'avoir des frites ou des tartines de pain grillées ou même une vraie salade plutôt que juste ça. Le dessert & le cocktail était très bien.

My boyfriend & I came here for our 2 year anniversary. The ambience is so cool I love art deco & how well the restaurant has been restored. Ask about the history its very cool! The service was good, they thought it was slow but we were happy to be there. We had 4 bottles of sparkling water.... & they kindly didn't charge us! My boyfriend had the special, it was duck & I had a bunch of sides. The gnocchi, asparagus, mushrooms, & frites. It was all very good with some unique flavors. Then we had the pecan pie & lime tart for dessert I liked these. They also gave us these for free which made for a special anniversary! I highly recommend dressing up & heading up here.

My friend & I planned to have just one cocktail. However, our server, Ashley, was so warm & happy that we stayed for dinner. Beautiful, elegant place with great staff.

This place is an absolute gem! You HAVE to go, it's beyond beautiful, like stepping into another era in the best way possible... Everything is so classy & elegant, & the vibe is unmatched. The energy is incredible, the atmosphere is perfect, & the drinks... wow. Chloe's cocktails are out of this world, the best drinks you'll ever have, no joke!!! Everyone here is so welcoming & knows the menu inside & out. The service is flawless, & the whole experience just leaves you wanting MORE. If you're in Montreal, do yourself a favor & make this your go-to spot!
