Since it opened in 1931, the Centre Eaton de Montréal’s iconic 9th floor restaurant has been known by Montrealers as “le neuvième”.
With La Grande Salle’s high ceiling and elegant architectural lines, Le 9e was among the first Art Deco interiors in the Province of Quebec, and is classified as a historic monument by the Ministry of Culture.
Lying dormant for twenty four years, Le 9e’s reopening in 2024 honours the past and embraces the future.

The 9 was a amazing experience first of all the atmosphere was incredible with amazing cutlery & amazing decor secondly the service was absolutely exceptional with all the staff being amazingly kind to everyone then there is the food the food was amazing with so many to choose from & there being foods for vegetarians & people with dietary restrictions also the desserts are absolutely exceptional too this place is perfect for big family dinners & it's one of the best spots in Montreal I absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a classy dinner with family & friends.

beautiful set up, adele tribute got everyone a little tear out! Those 4 violons were vibrating like 50, getting everyone's attention, going through all emotions... I would 100% recommend, & will 100% go to another tribute!

Dans l'ensemble, notre expérience au brunch du samedi pour deux à ce lieu mythique de MTL a été très agréable. L'ambiance historique & le décor magnifique ont vraiment ajouté à notre expérience culinaire. L'accueil rapide & courtois ainsi que le service souriant & attentif du personnel étaient très appréciés. Nous avons été installés au bar, ce qui nous a permis de profiter de l'ambiance animée de l'endroit. Nous avons savouré une délicieuse assiette de crêpes aux pois chiches avec saumon fumé & raifort, accompagnée de quelques cocktails. En dessert, le pain au chocolat & aux amandes était parfaitement chocolaté avec une pointe d'amertume, une excellente touche finale à notre repas. Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre visite & nous recommandons vivement cet endroit pour ceux qui recherchent une expérience brunch de qualité dans un cadre magnifique & historique.

I've had the pleasure of dining at Île de France three times, & each experience has been exceptional. The service is consistently outstanding-staff go above & beyond to ensure a welcoming atmosphere & a memorable time. The food is simply delicious, with every dish crafted to perfection. As an Executive Assistant, I frequently recommend Île de France & French Line for both business meetings & personal dinners, & the feedback is always overwhelmingly positive. I especially want to commend Tammara, one of the managers, whose kind & attentive manner truly elevates the dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a refined & enjoyable lunch or evening.

J'ai assisté à un spectacle d'un quatuor de chanteurs classiques acapella au 9ieme du centre Eaton. C'était un excellent spectacle. La salle a une belle acoustique. Je recommande cette expérience.

Agréablement surpris par l'excellent service, l'ambiance feutrée & très réconfortante, de même que les plats qui nous ont été servis (beignets d'homard, cocktail de crevettes, laitue Bibb, steak frites & saumon), tous délicieux !!!! Le restaurant est magnifique. & contrairement à bien d'autres restaurants, la température y est très agréable. 100% recommandé !

My boyfriend & I came here for our 2 year anniversary. The ambience is so cool I love art deco & how well the restaurant has been restored. Ask about the history its very cool! The service was good, they thought it was slow but we were happy to be there. We had 4 bottles of sparkling water.... & they kindly didn't charge us! My boyfriend had the special, it was duck & I had a bunch of sides. The gnocchi, asparagus, mushrooms, & frites. It was all very good with some unique flavors. Then we had the pecan pie & lime tart for dessert I liked these. They also gave us these for free which made for a special anniversary! I highly recommend dressing up & heading up here.

Excellent menu & service in a well appointed space. The original art deco interior details add a nice touch to the ambiance. All staff members we interacted with were courteous & knowledgeable regarding the menu. The oysters were the highlight of our meal. Highly recommended for those looking for an upscale meal in a nice setting.

Celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary last night at le 9e Restaurant Ile de France. It was a wonderful experience! Our waitress Erika helped with our meal selection & it was a great choice. Special thanks to the manager, Marco for making our evening amazingly unforgettable. We strongly recommend this beautiful art deco restaurant.

Good restaurant, seems to benefit greatly from the historical hype of the name. Professional staff (dress code could be better: jeans, sneakers...), good decor, & quick service. Loved the small museum at the entrance, & nice furniture. Food was good, but I was honestly expecting a little more. Salmon portion was tiny (quite different from other pictures posted), & no sides came with it. Cheesecake was burnt: good but not exceptional. Would recommend the restaurant, if just to experience this legendary location, but it would get 5 stars if the food was truly exceptional!

Last night I had the pleasure of dining at Ile de France- Le 9e restaurant & it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The ambiance was elegant & inviting, creating the perfect setting for a memorable evening. The staff were exceptionally attentive & knowledgeable, ensuring that every detail of our dining experience was flawless. Ile de France is a culinary gem, & I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. I can't wait to return & try more of their exquisite dishes.

An absolute brilliant meal..We are a younger couple that wouldn't mind a little bit of action. When we first walked in, a touch of uncertainty hit us... As the exterior light got lower, the mood & vibe increased inside. The food was immaculate, legit... every single dish. The baked oyster was the most memorable dish in a bevy of perfect plates... Order more than one, we wish we had. Emmanuel provided stellar service for a multilingual table French/English/Spanish... I likely sound like a friend of the restaurant, but I am not. I would definitely return & recommend. Don't skip the cocktail bar, one of the highlights of the night...The fact that we only managed to snap 3 pics out of all the dishes lends to the idea we were more consumed with the food/vibe than capturing pictures for our social media.

So where to begin ? The staff was incredibly friendly & finally i go somewhere where they deserve their tips. & when our waitress saw that the main dishes were way too slow, she decided to order us 3 amuse bouche that were delicious ! ( tomatoes with olive oil & blue cheese & 2 choux with liver pate) The ambiance wasn't as awesome as expected, the decor is basic, the big room that everybody seems to be awe of, has nothing particular, the story behind it though is cool but not so cool as to make me want my friends & family to see it. The food, because we went for that. Well you have no clear separation of entrees & main which is a little bit weird, maybe it was the high in the 20s. Nevertheless the chicken peas crepe was pretty good & if you are looking for a good piece of beef the bavette at 39$ really does the trick, the meat was cooked as ordered (rare) & the butter above it was pretty tasty. The dessert- not on the menu- was incredible All in all for 3 drinks, 2 entrees, 2 mains dishes & 2 dessert with tips I paid around 250$-yeah it's not somewhere you go every week for sure but definitely a place where I could recommend
