Since it opened in 1931, the Centre Eaton de Montréal’s iconic 9th floor restaurant has been known by Montrealers as “le neuvième”.
With La Grande Salle’s high ceiling and elegant architectural lines, Le 9e was among the first Art Deco interiors in the Province of Quebec, and is classified as a historic monument by the Ministry of Culture.
Lying dormant for twenty four years, Le 9e’s reopening in 2024 honours the past and embraces the future.

The 9 was a amazing experience first of all the atmosphere was incredible with amazing cutlery & amazing decor secondly the service was absolutely exceptional with all the staff being amazingly kind to everyone then there is the food the food was amazing with so many to choose from & there being foods for vegetarians & people with dietary restrictions also the desserts are absolutely exceptional too this place is perfect for big family dinners & it's one of the best spots in Montreal I absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a classy dinner with family & friends.

Le spectacle de Candel light de Charlie Brown de Noël était juste magique dans cette salle. La décoration & l'ambiance vaut vraiment la peine.

Superbe expérience! Les musiciens, le décor, le lieu, la gentillesse du personnel, tout était parfait! Seul point moins positif, c'est que le spectacle a passé trop vite. Bravo & merci! Assurément nous allons vouloir découvrir d'autres de vos spectacles.

Le 9e French restaurant, which has been well-known for these two months, is located in the bustling downtown area. The large floor-to-ceiling windows allow diners to take in the beautiful scenery. The night view overlooking is really beautiful!
The high & gorgeous decoration is very textured. After a busy day, you should treat yourself well! Not only is the decoration good, the atmosphere is good, but the food is also very well done. If you want to taste the delicate & advanced traditional French cuisine in the city center, come here!

Dans l'ensemble, notre expérience au brunch du samedi pour deux à ce lieu mythique de MTL a été très agréable. L'ambiance historique & le décor magnifique ont vraiment ajouté à notre expérience culinaire. L'accueil rapide & courtois ainsi que le service souriant & attentif du personnel étaient très appréciés. Nous avons été installés au bar, ce qui nous a permis de profiter de l'ambiance animée de l'endroit. Nous avons savouré une délicieuse assiette de crêpes aux pois chiches avec saumon fumé & raifort, accompagnée de quelques cocktails. En dessert, le pain au chocolat & aux amandes était parfaitement chocolaté avec une pointe d'amertume, une excellente touche finale à notre repas. Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre visite & nous recommandons vivement cet endroit pour ceux qui recherchent une expérience brunch de qualité dans un cadre magnifique & historique.

Le décor nous plonge dans nos souvenirs juste dommage que l'on ne mange pas dans la grande salle . Les serveurs sont parfaitement dignes d'un excellent service , courtois , discrets & capable de détailler chaque choix du menu Bravo. A aucun moment nous avons été bousculés donc nous avions tout notre temps de manger en parlant tranquillement.Le menu quand à lui , m'a un peu déçu , les prix un peu élevés pour ce que c'est .Les desserts nous ont été présentés comme partageables mais pour ça il faudrait que la portion ne soit pas celle d'un enfant !

To begin with, the waiters were kind & service was overall good, with more than a few shortcomings. The decor is nice & stands out from other restaurants. But those are the only good things we noticed at Le 9e. Unfortunately, we had to wait an hour for our table of 5 (even though we had a reservation). I appreciate the staff for offering us appetizers & a drink in the meantime. After we were seated, it was another 45 minute wait for the food to arrive. We ended up eating at 10pm. Our original reservation was at 8:15pm. We ordered steak which arrived lukewarm. For a 42$ dish we expected a certain level of quality which was not met. The other guests were not impressed by the food either. Another thing we did not appreciate was the waiter looming directly behind us while each one of us was paying, as if to add pressure. That felt uncomfortable & unprofessional. Finally, we asked for takeout boxes for our left over food. I forgot my box & came back 2 minutes later to pick it up only to be said "sorry we threw it away". This was far from the level of service we expected at Le 9e, hence the 2 star review.

Le décor & l'ambiance mettent la base d'une soirée parfaite. La nourriture est savoureuse & remplit ses promesses. Cependant, des irritants : le prix des entrées du jour & des 2 plats du jour ne sont pas indiqués, ni celui des desserts & des breuvages non alcoolisés. Le menu présenté en restaurant n'est pas identique au menu affiché sur le site Internet (on avait figuré quelques choix en se fiant au menu du site web du restaurant). Aussi, sur le site web, les menus s'affichent d'abord en anglais. Les options de pourboire présentées commencent à 18% & s'ajoutent au montant comprenant les taxes. C'est abusif. La marche est haute !, & si on a acheté une bouteille de vin par exemple, le prix au verre devient rapidement élevé. C'est décevant de payer un pourboire sur des taxes. Ceci dit, l'ambiance est top, la nourriture est bien présentée, très savoureuse & vaut le prix affiché.

An exquisite dining experience with every detail for a perfect meal attended to. Delightful decor & cosy atmosphere with plenty of fabulous details to entertain the senses. Well worth the drive from the Eastern Townships. We are already planning our next visit. Bravo Chef Liam & the entire team.

Absolutely breathtaking! This icon from Montreal history has come back like a Fenix. The decor is incredible, art deco like in the days. A must do! I was there for a special private event for the second time. I can't wait to try the public restaurant.

Good restaurant, seems to benefit greatly from the historical hype of the name. Professional staff (dress code could be better: jeans, sneakers...), good decor, & quick service. Loved the small museum at the entrance, & nice furniture. Food was good, but I was honestly expecting a little more. Salmon portion was tiny (quite different from other pictures posted), & no sides came with it. Cheesecake was burnt: good but not exceptional. Would recommend the restaurant, if just to experience this legendary location, but it would get 5 stars if the food was truly exceptional!
