We came for a dinner takeout on Thursday, June 27th around 9pm. We were a party of 3 + an already fussy (sleepy) 10 month old baby on a stroller. There was no way it was appropriate for us to dine in, so we came in just to inquire whether we can take out. Inside, the restaurant was about 1/3 full & there were only 2 servers & no hosts, so they were busy & hustling - we fully understand if they would prioritize the seated customers over us. But as soon as we came in, one of the servers quickly intercepted us at the door & gave us his full attention. We told him we're only going to do a takeout, if they can't take our order it's ok. The server said, "Of course, no problem! It's all ok!", & sat us at the table while he offer us the menu for our takeout order. We told him our menu choices, & he told us "Got it, give us 4 minutes." & the food really did come out in 4 mins. We got 2 naans, 1 samosa dip, 1 chicken biryani, 1 butter chicken - all packaged properly & all tasted delicious even after we took it back to the hotel. Props to the service team. We will come back from the great service alone. Props to the kitchen team for the tasty & prompt execution. We feel like the staff over at Le 409 cares & we appreciate you.
If you want good food in a bar/cocktail atmosphere, this is the place. The restaurant has an "industrial" interior design aesthetic, with lots of cool lights & silverware. This is an excellent place to have Indian food (near Old Port) & this is my go-to. They have a wide array of curries (creamy, spicy etc.) with different selection of meats (e.g. shrimp, lamb, chicken) & vegetables, with a good amount of spice. It is so special to find a place that pulls off a) homey b) classy c) fricking good food &) excellent service. Whenever I take my friends here, we always leave on a full stomach (the full kind where you have to unbutton your pants).

Great ambience. Waited awhile for our drinks. Traditional dishes that were too sweet. It was a bit odd to have sweet butter chicken. Naan & biryani were very good.
The food was pretty tasty, but the cauliflower in the Aloo Gobi was undercooked & the Vindaloo was all heat & no flavor. The eggplant, chicken curry, lamb korma were nice enough. The appetizers were tasty, but the Onion Bahjees were just 3 oversized pieces & would be better in a smaller format with more pieces. The Mango Lassis were a bit too thick & heavy on the mango & served in a thin glass, I have had better. The place looks nice, but the music is played too loud & it was hard to have a conversation with someone right in front of me. I don't think I'd pick this place again.
The wife & I decided to try this restaurant tonight after seeing it when walking past the other day. I'm glad we did. Back home in the UK, my go-to Indian meal is a chicken tikka massala. So I tried it at the 409, & it was fantastic. The flavour was different from English tikka massala's, but I thought that it was actually better. My wife had the lamb Korma, & she thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. The service we had from both our servers (sorry, can't remember there names), was top notch. I liked the little extra piece of hospitality of them taking our coats as we entered the restaurant. It's a small thing, but I liked that.

I have been to this location multiple times & I have enjoyed it every single time. They offer great selection of Indian fusion cuisine with friendly service. They also offer good variety of cocktails. They offer Raita, onions with tomato sauce served with cumin papadum as a welcome. We ordered Chana Samosa & Bhajee d'Oignons for appetizers & Butter Chicken, Lamb Korma, Chicken Korma, Butter Chicken, Lamb Biryani for entrée. I enjoyed every bite of our food & my favorite was Lamb Korma; it has a sweet taste that I don't normally go for, but was very delicious.
Dined here because someone said the butter chicken was the best thing they've ever eaten. The spice flavors were delicious, & chicken was not overcooked, but the sauce was very, very sweet... I suspect maple syrup. The garlic naan was delicious, as was the ginger lemonade.
Overall I had a great time. Staff with nice, & food generous & comforting. Signature cocktails are really enjoyable, well balanced. They could use a finer choice of glass. Tikka chicken was flavorful, but a bit dry. I'm sure it depends on the meat, maybe a brine could help. Thanks for having me, I'll be sure to come back & try other entrees.

I have mixed feelings about this place. The place was full & it felt good to see so many people enjoying Indian food in Montreal. However the food was no where close to Indian, everything was overly sweet (& this is after me asking for the highest level of spice possible) so as an Indian the food felt weird.
At one point I did enjoy the butter chicken poutine as a French-Indian dish & it worked in my head for a bit. What I loved were the cocktails. Really nice ambience too.
Went there on a weekday night. Wasn't too busy & could get a table without reservation. This is not your regular Indian restaurant. The taste is unlike other Indian restaurants you would go to in Montreal. We ordered veggie tandoor & chicken 65. We weren't a big fan of either. However, the drinks are a different story. Definitely a place to hang out with your friends for a couple of drinks & socialize. Maybe not so much for a dinner if you are looking for a typical Indian dinner outing.
Do not recommend having indian food at this restaurant. There are way better Indian restaurants out their in Montreal. The spices were bland with no flavours & way too expensive.
Also there was no respect of time given despite us making reservations online. All the naan breads that were served were either burnt or cold, food colour was added to chicken tikka masala.
Not worth spending your money on this restaurant. Fine dining with no real indian taste.
Exceptional experience from the greeting to the ambiance to the professional service from the staff. Oh, & the food was awesome as well! The Chicken 65 appetizer is a must try, even if you just stop by for a cocktail or beer. Shrimp korma, lamb madras

Beautiful bistro, nice ambiance.
The sauces , spices & food in general are absolutely delicious, the chicken however was just a touch overcooked which is unfortunate since the butter sauce was so good!
We will go back!
Excellent, top notch service. Food was very good, ambiance was nice. Small portions for mains (chicken madras, saag paneer) are only reasons for not giving a 5-star rating.
