We had a wonderful experience at Le 409! The tikka was cooked perfectly & packed with flavor, with spices that were rich, aromatic, & beautifully balanced. The creative cocktails were also a highlight & paired really well with the food.
The service made the evening even more enjoyable. Everyone working there was warm, welcoming, attentive, & genuinely lovely. Overall, it's a great spot for delicious Indian food, unique drinks, & excellent hospitality. We would definitely return!
I recently visited Le 409 in downtown Montréal on a Friday night with a group of five people, & it was a fantastic experience!
The food was incredible! My friends & I ordered the samosas & the Butter Chicken, both of which were amazing. What stood out even more was that all the portion sizes were generous, & the pricing was very reasonable for a restaurant in this part of the city.
The service was excellent throughout the night. I also have to shout out their cocktails; they are expertly crafted. I ordered the'CATNIP', & I would highly recommend it! All in all, the atmosphere & drink quality are top-tier.
I would highly, highly recommend Le 409 to anyone. I will definitely be returning!
Great atmosphere, but the food was just okay. The vegetarian dishes were normal & lacked the'wow' factor I expected given the amazing interior. Both the food & drinks felt a bit overpriced for the quality. Beautiful place, but the taste needs to catch up to the ambiance.

Food was nice ,not too spicy not too mild , the perfect balance, the dessert was the catch , we are vegetarians so for starters we had - grilled vegetables (was good) & Chana samosa ( this one was better then prior)
In mains you should definitely try the saag paneer
Ambiance is nice
Great selection of wines
Bar is beautiful
Highly recommend
Just that they should have more vegetarian starters options as me & my husband are heavy drinkers , when out so we like it accompanied by good sides rather than just 2 & endless papadums.
I will a this restaurant a 10/10
My favourite Indian food in the city! It's a full-on sit-down restaurant, which is reflected in the prices, but very reasonable given the great ambiance & amazing quality & taste of the food & drinks.
Service is friendly & quick, food is presented beautifully & it's in a very pleasant accessible location by the old city.
Also the butter chicken poutine is INCREDIBLE (& the lamb korma is a personal fav)
Have gone back many times, & will be back for many more!
WOW, such good & tasty Indian cuisine. It's a little on the more expensive side but that goes with the area as well, near the old port.
The place is neat, clean & big enough to host big groups. They also had some nice wine & drink selection.
The service was also great for a full packed place, waiter was attentive & checking to make sure we had everything.
Food didn't take too long to arrive either & they give you a tasty little appetizer before your meal.
It is definitely worth a visit, you can go out of your way & try this place if you have the budget. It's worth a taste & visit.
I will go again & taste different options from the menu 🤤😋😋
Le 409 is a standout Indian restaurant nestled in the heart of Old Montreal. From the moment you step in, the ambiance captivates with its chic décor blending Indian & Havana influences. The lighting & overall vibe create a warm & inviting atmosphere, perfect for any occasion, be it a business dinner, a romantic evening, or a casual meal with friends.
The food is consistently impressive. Each dish bursts with authentic flavors, yet leaves you feeling light & satisfied. A personal favorite is the coriander lemonade, a refreshing drink not listed on the menu, but the staff graciously prepares it upon request. This level of personalized service speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction.
It's unfortunate that they no longer offer lunch service, as it was a popular spot for my colleagues & I during workdays. However, I understand that operational decisions are influenced by various factors.
In terms of pricing, Le 409 offers excellent value. A typical meal, including a main course with rice, a popadum, & a drink, averages around $45 to $50. Considering the quality of the food, the ambiance, & the impeccable service, it's a reasonable price point.
Overall, Le 409 delivers a delightful dining experience that combines flavorful cuisine with a sophisticated yet comfortable setting. It's a place I wholeheartedly recommend & look forward to visiting again.
Very friendly waitress! Food was absolutely delicious, with the exception of the Korma (which we switched out for a chana masala which was delicieux) it was very sickly sweet - poulet 65, onion bhaji & the lamb tandoori were a hit. Plus we asked the bartender for a couple surprise us drinks & they perfect!
The food is so delicious & the drinks are impeccable. I always recommend this to friends when they ask where to find delicious vegetarian friendly food in Montreal.
