My husband & I had the pleasure of having our wedding ceremony & reception at La Verità in August. We want to thank the team at La Verità for making it a dream day. Everything exceeded our expectations, & we recommend anyone to get married/host their event at La Verità. Services: The team provided best in class service throughout our event. From guiding us during our wedding planning, to installing our decor for the reception & for the service during that day, everything was perfect. All of our guest were impressed by the quality of their customer service. Ceremony: We tied the knot under their marquee tent. It was simply magic. Being under the tent surrounded by plants & flowers created for a very intimate & special place. Reception: The minute we got out of our ceremony, Derek, one of the owners, was waiting for us with our favorite cocktail. What a way to kick off the festivities. We spent our night dancing on the dance floor in between courses. The team was great to keep up with the pace of the evening. Food: The food was simply divine. The canapés were savory. The limoncello shrimps were one of our guest favorites. We had selected a 5-course meal, & everything was impeccable. Almost every guest told us that it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. We were impressed that everyone got served at the same time which is hard to manage for a group of 50 peoples. The food was served at the perfect temperature. What can I say, this is literally my favorite restaurant in Montreal! Food is absolutely amazing & the service is second to none. Decor is cozy & they have a great selection of Scotch at the bar. desserts are also off the charts! I highly recommend the maple cheesecake & the crème brûle! Getting the Burrata as an appetizer is also a must, best I've ever had! Prices are also very reasonable considering the quantity & quality of the dishes, you'd easily pay double downtown for food half as good. I also recommend sitting at the bar & getting a drink with Joe the bartender, super friendly & really helpful in suggesting what to eat & drink. This is a must visit if you're ever in the West Island area! Keep up the great work guys!View more

via LibroIn past visits to La Verita, I would have given the restaurant 5 stars, however this time I ordered the bavette (beef) as the main course & although the taste was good, it was chewy & hard to swallow, totally ruining my meal experience. I thought that it was because it needed to be cooked a little more, so I sent it back for them to do that, but that did not solve the problem. Shame on them for serving such poor quality meat. On the other hand the service was good as always & I enjoyed my first course.
we had been here before & quality of both food & service brought us back. However, based on tonite, it would seem both parameters have dropped. Braised short rib last time was phenomenal, this time seemed more like boiled beef. Seafood pasta.....passable, at least it was al dente, but a little dry & no parsley garnish which gives it those finishing tones. The seafood in it (mussels ok, Shrimps were either hard on their own or overcooking them made them hard). Bavette of beef had been phenomenal last time I ate it, however this time I asked for Rare I got medium rare, & felt more like AA beef than AAA beef. On the other hand, i must applaud the vegetables, very nicely cooked, seasoned, & the sweet potatoes puré was lovely. As for the service, it declined more than the food. Whereas we got good descriptions of the specials & their prices last time, there was an avoidance of informing on the pricing on this last outing. We dont know if this is restaurant policy or waiter style but we urge the owner to standardize the presentation & please let customers know before hand what their are getting into. Service was somewhat slow during the meal & interminable when waiting for the bill....guys when ppl are finished eating, some customers want to leave ! I am considering maybe ONE last chance for this place, maybe not.

As we entered, we were welcome right away by the hostess. She walked us to our table for our meeting lunch. Service was great, water with lemon was brought to the table, & some bread to munch on while we decided on what we wanted to order. The waitress presented with details each of the dishes that were available but not on the menu. We all ordered mains, & she recommended to order an appetizer to share as it might take a while to get our mains, which we did. The service had a good flow, & we never had to ask for our water to be filled. We were checked up upon multiple times, & we appreciated that. The food itself was good. Quality ingredients, flavorful & enjoyable. We all cleared our plates. I would highly recommend for lunch time.

Service is friendly yet attentive & professional, the guys really take care of you. I enjoyed grilled salmon last week for lunch as much as I enjoyed my duck break for dinner last night. Excellent wine list & nice choices by the glass also. A nice option from going to the village.

Whenever we are on the West Island (2x a year) we try to dine at La Verita. Post COVID hasn't changed the caliber of the servers & quality of the food. On this recent visit, our server Stephanie was excellent from her knowledgeable recommendations to her ability to tailor our meal & wine to meet our personalities. This restaurant is a great example of having excellent cuisine, with consistent execution year after year. We look forward to our next visit!

via LibroThis was our fourth visit with family in two years (we come each time we visit from the states). The food continues to be high-caliber/quality. The servers are professional & know how to serve. One server recognized us from previous visits, which was an added pleasure. Our server David, had a perfect wine recommendation that matched our four varied mains. The specials are well-conceived & all of the menu items are well-orchestrated. Nothing gratuitous on the plates, & the garnishes are perfect, nothing superfluous. In short, this is a professional, high-quality Italian restaurant with excellent service. Some of the best escargot & octopus that we've ever had. They also had a perfect dessert with sparkler for my father-in-law's birthday. Perfect classy touch.

We came to this restaurant previously for my grandmother's birthday. We loved the food & the service & when organizing our daughter's baptism, we instinctively thought to come back here. The owner Derek, did an outstanding job accommodating all of our wishes & delivering on his promise of quality. The day of the baptism, the staff set up the place setting cards & the dessert table perfectly. The restaurant looked great. The food was delicious, fresh & plentiful. The service was impeccable, on point & extremely courteous. When all of our guests left the consensus was unanimous: that they had a great time & absolutely loved both the food & service. My wife & I are extremely satisfied with everything La Verita did for us & our daughter. We highly recommend this restaurant for family events (& dining as well) & we will definitely be back.
I had previously visited La Verita on a few occasions, with each dinner being better than the last. Subsequently my wife & I decided to have our reception dinner there this past Saturday & we're delighted we did. Derek, the owner of La Verita is without doubt a professional, who is extremely knowledgeable, & obviously someone who cares about making people feel comfortable. From helping us finalize our menu & our table layout to his greeting us at the reception desk on our special night, assured us we were in goods hands. My wife & I & each of our guests, some of whom were already pleasantly familiar with La Verita, were overwhelmed with the beautifully presented plates, the incredibly delicious food, extraordinarily professional & attentive staff, who's timing was absolutely perfect with everything. Our waiter for the evening was friendly, attentive a pleasure to deal with & blessed with perfect timing. The décor is a clean, modern look, with wavy demi walls, giving an inviting softness. Lighting is gives a warm comfortable ambience. The wavy half walls also help considerably in cutting down noise levels. As far as the food is concerned, every dish was incredible. Elegant presentations, Grand choice of delicious appetizers (including La Veritas amazing meat balls), & of course the main courses. The majority of our guests including myself chose the 10oz filet mignon. I've had many in my time & La Verita's are the best I have ever had, quite simply PERFECT. That was the unanimous opinion from all at our table which speaks volumes for La Verita's ability to produce high quality plates on a consistent basis. Don't try this at home folks, these guys are professionals. Everyone commented on the delicious food, wine & how smoothly everything went & how beautiful the entire evening was. Food , service, decor & ambience.... If I could give more stars I would. I'd like to thank Derek, his manager Tommy & the incredible staff at La Verita for turning a memorable evening for 2 into a beautiful event for 16. Bravo! Aug 6 2022 UPDATE: After a few years hiatus, we recently returned to one of our favorite restaurants. Unfortunately our experience deteriorated considerably since our last visit. I ordered their signature dish (10oz Filet Mignon), medium rare, served with broiled asparagus & a single carrot. The service was perfect as usual. Unfortunately the filet mignon was slightly overdone, asparagus was borderline & the carrot was absolutely raw. But the most concerning was the ambiance of this once classy establishment. Tattooed bikers entered wearing so much perfume we were forced to ask waiter to change our table, then we were placed beside another table where 4 men who's language was so inappropriate, I was embarrassed for bringing my wife. Unfortunately management & staff allow this type of behavior. This restaurant desperately needs a makeover has now become a really expensive brasserie.
