Reviews describe La Maison Dumplings (The Dumpling Hut) as a cozy, small spot with fresh handmade dumplings and a simple menu, where both steamed and fried options show off juicy fillings like pork and dill, lamb coriander, zucchini and shrimp, and vegetarian choices; the dough is praised for its chew and the fillings for being flavorful and generous, with several mentions calling it the best dumplings in Montreal and a hidden gem that feels like a home kitchen. The space is intimate, warm and unpretentious, making the experience feel welcoming rather than formal, with quick but friendly service from the staff and a generally fast turnaround, though some notes point to occasional noise, limited seating and the price value being more favorable for the portion size. Overall, the reviews converge on high quality, homemade feel, and a charming atmosphere, with some requests for more beverage options and occasional critique of service or pace, but a strong willingness to return.
Went here twice during our stay in montreal & would probably visit a thrid time if we didnt have to leave today. Yummi dumpling served in what feels like a friends living room. You can watch the Dumpings being shaped in the back of the room & the taste is exquisite. Charming little Business with great qualitiy products, quick, uncomplicated & welcoming.
We found this place while walking through the neighborhood.
It was about a 15 mins wait & it didn't disappoint.
We had 2 steam dumpling orders & 2 wonton soups. Our kids really enjoyed the soup dumplings. Would definitely come back when we're back in town.
you can choose to have your dumplings either steamed or fried, but for whatever reason the fried dumplings don't even come with a SKIRT!! also the fried dumplings cost extra & are barely any different than the steamed ones
cool little spot anyways with an area where you can write your own little post-it at the entrance
Was in town for Pride. Visited this spot for Lunch on Friday at 1pm. It was not busy & service was fast. Staff was nice, friendly & answered all questions. I had the cucumber salad, wonton soup & a small portion of pork & cabbage dumplings (10pc).
Everything tasted great. The dumplings were tasty & I did not feel like I needed any sauce, though they had Chinkiang Vinegar, soy sauce & chilli oil available on the table. Wonton soup was small but very flavourful, a great entree. The cucumber salado was good, but a bit too salty.
this is one of the best dumplings i have ever eaten! This will be way better than your asian grandmas dumplings. Homemade & very juicy! The server was also kind & hardworking
incroyable!

A hidden dumpling paradise in Montreal that feels like someone's cozy living room!
The Dumpling Hut in Montreal truly feels like you've stepped into someone's house & magically been handed a plate of some of the best dumplings in Canada. The space is small, warm, & full of charm. It is nothing fancy but has that relaxed & welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay forever. It honestly feels like a secret spot that only locals know about & part of me wanted to keep it that way.
The service was lovely. The staff was kind, calm, & made you feel at home right away. The menu is clear & available in both English & French. The selection of dumpling fillings is surprisingly big with both classic options & some creative ones for the adventurous.
Every dumpling we had was juicy, well-seasoned, & perfectly cooked. Whether boiled or fried, they were absolutely delicious. The dipping sauce? A quiet masterpiece.
The only thing I didn't love was the toilet. It's there & it works but that's about all I can say. Still, when the food is this good, you just laugh it off.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Montreal. Come hungry, bring a friend, & maybe use the restroom somewhere else beforehand.

Staff was very kind & helpful. We ordered the pork/chive & lamb/coriander, both regular, plus seaweed salad. Plenty of food for two adults & two kids with a few dumplings for later. The seaweed salad was delicious. The dumplings, fresh & amazing. My favorite, the lamb. The kids, the pork. Would eat there again & order the same!
Walked 30mins to get here. I ordered fried pork, zucchini & shrimp dumplings to go. I didn't realize it wasn't fried (but steamed) until I had left. I liked the meal but would have very much preferred the fried option, more so because I paired extra for it.
