The sandwich was ok, flavour was good but the focaccia was not crunchy & not with enough olive oil. The coffee was awesome, I recommend if you go, spend a bit more & buy the coffee in chemex .
I had a great time at La Finca while visiting for a local coffee festival. The staff were so lovely & gave amazing service - the barista, the servers, the person at register - everyone! The whole cafe had a very welcoming vibe & I wish I lived in Montreal so I could come more often. I ordered a matcha & a cortado & both were great with the perfect ratios of milk.
For anyone leaving a negative review due to what they might have seen recently on Instagram, I highly urge you to look at the incident from multiple perspectives. As someone that works in hospitality industry, I understand how hard it is to separate my personal life & work. Filming a barista & sharing it on the internet is a threat to their privacy. A worker is not a representation of an entire company & should be treated with respect.
Sending my love to Montreal 🩷
My favorite coffee shop in the downtown area. Very local. 100% not a chain. Great place to spend an hour+ if your partner is not a morning person 😆
Coffee is excellent, but so is the food. I continue to be blown away by the food. The food appears simple on menu, but I'm always a pleasantly surprised by the execution. One person working the kitchen & they nail it every time.
Just FYI: laptops are not encouraged. Designated laptop seating is at a counter towards the back of the restaurant.
Great food, it was all fantastic, the foccaci bread was the best sandwhich I have eaten in years. Coffee was very good, service was really fast as well. I will go.back soon very reasonable prices. Nice pastry as well
If you like boho-artsy-scandinavian vibes, this is a café for you. If you don't mind quite high prices & an early closing hour, you will enjoy this aesthetic, cute (a bit crowded sometimes) space. There is also a shop with coffee & Montreal souvenirs, if you have extra money to spend. I ordered a cortado & sablé pastry - one of many interesting pastries they had to offer - & everything was delicious.
Nice spot, good service. The food is okay but on the pricier side for the portions you get. The coffee is pretty good. The water cups were pretty dirty though… overall a good spot to get a coffee & work/study but maybe bring your own water bottle.
Got a coffee & just wanted to sit at a table & read a book on my tablet. Was told I had to sit on an uncomfortable stool if I want to use my tablet, but I can sit at the table if I don't use my tablet. Most other tables & chairs were open at this time anyway. Bizarre & disappointing.
The only place I stopped by twice on my trip to Montreal. Staff is friendly & helpful. But we need to talk about the bagel blt! I am still thinking about it now months later. I like the bagel. I love the filling. Wasn't loving the coffee as much as the sandwich. But I did have the sandwich twice! It's that good. One of the best bagels I've ever had. & the best bagel sandwich I've ever had.
fantastic food! i had the smoked salmon sandwich with kimchi & it is a marriage made in gustatory heaven. the krunch of cabbage & kimchi complement the smoky smoothness of the salmon. & because life is uncertain, i started with the most decadent cinnamon roll that i have ever tasted accomppanied by a good cappucino. while I'm still looking for an old fashioned cappi, with piles of foam (& no cute design), this coffee did the trick, balancing the richness of the cinnamon roll, & the spiciness of the sandwich.
not cheap, but excellent & out of the ordinary! throw in friendly service & i will be returning to try other delights on the menu.
Every dish we had was very good. They have have great coffee & the best cinnamon rolls.
Went there mid morning on a Sunday. The bagel BLT was absolutely delicious & drop coffee was good!
There seemed to be quite a few dogs entering the café with their owners to order. Not recommended for those with serious pet allergies.
The ambience was lovely. The coffee & breakfast items were excellent.
My dad & I stopped in for a small breakfast. Great coffee, fantastic vibes & friendly staff. Definitely added to our trip!
we went here twice during our stay because it is so so lovely! the breakfast danishes are amazing, but so is all the other food items! great coffee! super friendly service & accommodating to us anglophones who failed to muster up the courage to speak french! merci & a bientôt
I have been looking for cafes that I can sketch in that aren't too loud or crowded. I came to La Finca on a rainy day so that may have helped but it was really cozy & quiet. They had a slight lunch rush but it was over fast & not disturbing.
The server was kind, the coffee good, & the food delicious. (I had the Croque Madame)
There are no laptops allowed at the tables but they have plenty of comfortable bar seating by the windows that also have outlet access if you need that kind of thing.
Will definitely come back.
Nice cafe, professional staff & nice coffee :)...all what I needed at that moment.
