Invited friends there for my birthday yesterday.

The bar is small with a very cozy atmosphere, cool decoration, & amazing music. The highlight of the night tho was ✨Oliver✨, the bartender. He overheard it was my birthday, allowed me to pick the next vinyls, played some of my fav albums, & treated us all amazingly well (hey Mr. manager, give Oliver a raise). It's even funny to think how much being well treated by the staff changes the whole experience of going out for drinks.

I would (& most likely will) go back :)

Fantastic bar! Great vinyl selection, incredibly friendly staff, & such a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Loved the vibe all around & will definitely be back!

Absolutely loved this place, bartender was awesome, other patrons were fun to talk to, kinda felt like sitting in a living room. Small space but in a cozy way. Large drink menu. Hot dogs. What more can a person want???

my first ever bar experience while visiting montreal with my boyfriend for my bday, & i can proudly & confidently say that this experience has been beyond amazing!! Not only were the bartenders, Oliver & Sebstian, incredibly kind & helpful with questions we had about the area around Downtown Montreal, they both made my evening an extremely memorable one. I HIGHLY recommend coming here & sitting at the bar, chatting with them & the atmosphere. I would 100% come back here when i visit Montreal again. Thank you Oliver & Sebstian for the wonderful experience!!!

Malt's hotdog is great, but Lili is the real star of the place - her cocktails are out of this world, giving the city's top cocktail bars a serious run for their money. Great drunk food, but damn Lili's drinks!! Will be back for her raspberry mojito & mango pina colada !!!

In my experience Montréal has always been a welcoming & kind city. I haven't felt that more than when I walked into this bar. I had probably had one of the worst days of luck when it comes to traveling in my life, with every plane I was trying to take home that day being canceled. After ending up booking a bus ride back home with a 5 hour layover in between I wandered into this bar. I was greeted with warmth & comfort from everyone inside. The basic & small acts of kindness even when just doing their job was something so profoundly warm & human after dealing with cold bureaucratic indifference for an entire day. I don't want to post anyone's name without permission but I hope the owners know they have a phenomenal bartender that was working on July 26th 2026 & that you've earned a life long patron whenever I'm back in this great city.

We didn't have food, but I'll give it 5 stars based on the rest of our experience. We are in town for a short time & wanted to stop for a drink. Stumbled upon MALT & couldn't be happier.

Lilly gave us fantastic service & amazingly crafted cocktails. She was attentive, friendly & knowledgeable. The vibe is great, & if you're looking for an intimate cocktail bar- this place is for you.

As I said, we didn't get food (it was late), but the first thing I noticed on the menu was 8 hotdogs for $35. This place knows how to steal my heart. 10/10 would recommend.

Great accidental find during the Jazz Festival. Vinyl setup behind the bar is great & really adds to the atmosphere. 70's living room decor, but in a good way. Bartender/DJ combo a nice touch.
