Vins excellents, calmar réussi, service impeccable - mais le'steak vieilli' ne l'était pas.
Soyons clairs : les vins étaient excellents & l'entrée de calmar frais, bien apprêtée. Le service, impeccable du début à la fin. Jusque-là, rien à redire.
C'est le plat principal qui change toute l'histoire. J'attendais avec impatience le duo Cowboy & Cowgirl vieilli - j'ai mangé du steak vieilli dans plusieurs grands steakhouses, ici comme à l'étranger, & je sais reconnaître ce qu'un vrai vieillissement fait à une viande. Le persillage devient sec, presque friable. Le gras se coupe sans effort. La viande, elle, se coupe presque à la cuillère.
Rien de tout ça ici. Beaucoup de liquide dans l'assiette, un gras difficile à couper, aucune tendreté réelle. Une viande correcte, mais qui n'a jamais vu de vieillissement digne de ce nom - essentiellement un bon AAA d'épicerie, au prix d'un vieilli.
J'en ai fait part à la direction, en privé, en espérant une vraie écoute. On m'a plutôt suggéré de revenir une autre fois pour essayer autre chose.
On n'a jamais une deuxième chance de donner une première impression.

Nous avons pris la salade de betteraves & la soupe du jour, délicieux! Steaks parfaitement cuit comme nous le voulions.
Google says this is a french resto? Uts a steakhouse. The steaks are aged on site. A little pricey for the area, but they are really good. Great service with a smile. Wine list is also on the pricey side.

Excellente soirée passée à La Cochonne Rit! J'ai pris le steak Kansas vieilli avec beurre à la Truffe qui était excellent & cuit à la perfection! Nous étions un groupe de 8 personnes & le service c'est très bien déroulé! Super expérience, j'y retournerai assurément!
La Cochonne Rit absolutely lives up to the name, I left laughing, smiling, & very full. The service was top-notch: friendly, sharp, & perfectly timed without hovering like a nervous helicopter parent.
The steak selection is a carnivore's dream. Dry-aged cuts staring at you from the fridge like,'pick me.' I went with the cowboy steak, & it was a glorious slab of beef cooked exactly right, juicy, rich, & big enough to make me briefly consider canceling my gym membership.
& dessert… the cheesecake. Sweet mercy. Creamy, balanced, & drizzled in caramel goodness that made conversation stop at the table. Forks only moved faster.
Great food, great service, great vibe. My only complaint? My belt now hates me.
Bon, premier bémol est le stationnement, je comprends que c'est dans le vieux Chambly, mais à prévoir un 10-15mins à chercher du stationnement. Nous avons pris 2 steaks & des drinks. Nous avons demandé la même cuisson, mais malheureusement 1/2 de réussis. Pas impressionnée par la nourriture, mais j'y retournerais pour un verre. L'ambiance est bonne.
My husband & I visited for our valentines dinner. We were seated in a beautifully lit area of the resto which I am very glad about as I love being able to see my food & my dinner date.
We ordered the shrimp boil, half rack of ribs, steak & beer. Everything was delicious. The shrimp boil & steak were amazing. My only gripe was the ribs were a tad dry & didn't have anything extra special about them. For the price I would have expected better.
Une note de 4.5 aurait été plus juste. Nourriture, drinks, bieres & service tout était excellent. On aurait souhaité un peu plus de wow pour le prix, portion de poutine plus généreuse, on adore l'ail cuite au four, la cuisson du steak était réussite, that's it. Dans cette fourchette de prix il existe beaucoup d'options mais on y est presque. Je recommande à tous d'y aller & moi-même j'y retournerais volontier :)
