Everything here in this underground bakery is EXCELLENT, but their truck tire-size rolls of croissant dough with heavenly fillings put us over the edge. It's so good that we are torn to post this because you will come & try the fresh orange juice, great coffee & baked goods produced with the highest standards & best possible ingredients (not easy to do these days) & - then it will be even more crowded. But such an amazing place & the world needs all the amazing it can get these days. Making the world better, one pastry at a time. &, no, I am not even their mom. ❤?View more
It's sorta hidden but once you find it, it offers delicious bakeries & good coffee.
The bakery was a bit pricey but it's located on a touristic spot.
I would recommand the Tiramisu Roll, its crunchy on the outside, & soft on the inside that is filled with sugary filling!View more
I thought I would love this place, but I ended up not really liking it. The coffee was insanely strong- almost undrinkable, & I thought the pastries were too sweet. Maybe it was just us though, because people do rave about this place & it did go viral, but I didn't really like it & probably won't go back.
For reference: We got the tiramisu circular croissant, the red velvet croissant, & an iced coffeeView more
If I could rate value for your money, I would give it a 2/5 stars. The food was good but too expensive for what you're getting.
Went to get breakfast here on a Sunday. It was so busy & you can tell the place was popular. Everyone was served quickly so you weren't waiting in line for more than a minute or two.
I ordered a'hangover cure' with a maple latte for myself & a jambon beurre sandwich for my husband. The hangover cure is a croissant sandwich with cheese, chives, bacon & a runny egg. Each sandwich was $12.50. The latte was $6 or $6.50. Somehow with 15% tax I paid $36.22. The price surprised me because at first, I didn't realize how expensive my sandwich was & I didn't realize there was an egg in the sandwich. However, I still believe the price of the food was inflated overall.
The jambon beurre was made with fresh bread but it was stiff & cold. Nothing was warmed up or toasted. The ham & cheese was cut thick but also cold. Maybe it's supposed to be like that & it's just our fault for expecting something different.
In comparison, the hangover cure was warmed up & toasted. The bacon was the perfect amount of crispy & chewy. The cheese was delicious, I've never had anything like it. I had to eat it with a fork & knife however because everything was oozing out. Not a critique, just a beware if you order & think you're going to be able to walk with it.
The maple latte was really good but small. About the size of a small coffee from McDonalds in Canada. So $6-6.50 for that is a lot.
There was a variety of other pastries there as well that many patrons were purchasing.View more
Amazing bakery with plenty of outdoor seating with shade at street level. Coffees & cold drinks available. Chocolate croissant eclair with salt was incredible, was kind of a Nutella like filling. If you come towards the end of the day around closing (I came at 7:40pm) they may give you an extra treat! Very nice staff.View more
Coffee was so bitter, bagel was too doughy & ham & cheese croissant would've been better warm. Very average, will not be coming backView more
Great coffee! I haven't had a good one like this for a long while. Also super original & great croissants! The hazelnut one was fabulous! Love the barista, I didn't catch his name but he was wearing glasses, such a sweetheart.View more
Visiting old Montreal, I was looking for a traditional French boulangerie… this was it! I got the hangover cure croissant & the almond croissant & both were excellent. The hangover cure was one of a kind- egg, bacon, cheese, & a béchamel sauce. The coffee menu was great, I got an iced vanilla latte that was delicious. Highly recommend! Limited seating inside though I did score a table. There is a decent amount of standing room counter however. Lots of outdoor seating.View more
Delicious croissants & coffee. Friendly & fast service.View more
The pastries were absolutely incredible. We tried the red velvet croissant which was so delicious without being too rich or sweet, we loved it so much we had to get more for the road! Also the coffees are really smooth & balance their sweet treats perfectly.View more
Good place to try croissants & coffee. Tried pistachio roll . Too much cream in my opinion as it overpowers the taste of the roll itself. Coffee was ok.View more
This is what you can expect from French bakery & coffee shop! Nice, welcome, & down to earth staff, which they love their job. There is an option to eat-out or stay in. However, if it is gloomy day, I would suggest outside because of stone-carpet street aside. They offer Breads & Pastries, using organic flour & filtered waterlog fermentation process to enhance flavor & digestibility, as well as pepperoni pizza, Natural Wines. Strongly recommended!View more
After seeing so much hype about this place I was excited to try it out. The iced latte was great, service was fast & helpful, vibes were great. However the croissant was not very good. I had the plain croissant & it was so dry & tasteless. The outer crust was right, great amount of folds but it needed a lot more butter in my opinion. It also was not flakey enough. They have a nice selection of natural wines as well. I would go back to try the different flavoured croissants & because the coffee & vibes were great. But it's no where near the best croissant in Montreal.View more
I particularly enjoy their croissants, especially the chocolate ones. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some fresh pastries & coffee.View more
Really delicious pastries & coffee. Is small inside but has a nice patio.View more
We started by sharing a classic ham & cheese sandwich on a nice baguette. Delicious. They we ordered 2 chocolatines. It was to die for. The coffee was also exceptional. The server was cheerful. This place set in old Montreal. What a way to start a day. Hopefully I'll be back soon.View more
Nice spot for a coffee & snack in Old Montreal. Fresh baked goods, but not light & flaky - more bready. Nice patio.View more
Tasty coffee, quick friendly service with a nice outside area to drink your coffee. We didn't have food but it looked great.View more
Don't miss this opportunity... You have to walk out away from the Old City bustle look for the Yellow umbrellas or the green doer frame. (Right next to BreWsky) Down a set of old cellar stairs (don't worry it'll be worth it) & step into Nonna's summer kitchen. Its small & quaint with a few indoor seats but a nice sidewalk patio. The pastry were light but flavorful & the Coffee was exactly what I expected & hoped for. Also, they were open into the evening when all the other boulangerie were closed.View more
