Small cafe type of shop in the basement, not a lot of space to sit inside but some available outside during the warmer months. Food is great, from sweet to salty but the price is awful, after taxes you pay close to 15$ for a roll, that's enough for a whole brunch in some places, but if you're not stingy on prices than definitely try it out.
These croissants were extravagant & had generous filling. Worth the price !
Busy place with friendly service! They have lunch foods like sandwiches & pizza, though I didn't try them. The chocolatine tasted incredible! Only unfortunate thing is that they're a little expensive & don't have too much seating, but its worth checking out!
A cramped little store that makes you walk down some steep stairs to get to. There was also very limited seating. The majority of the seating was at ground level outside. But it was worth the trek because the matcha crossant roll was SO GOOD. It was stuffed & had such a strong matcha flavour. The chocolate & pistachio flavours were both way too sweet. For $11 something a piece, I would only recommend the matcha roll.
Matcha crossaint roll is a must!!! Very strong matcha flavour without being too sweet or too bitter. Lots of cream & matched perfectly with the crunch of the croissant. Definitely will get one every time I visit!
The pistachio one was too sweet & thick. The chocolate one was just Nutella on the inside & thus too sweet. For $11 each, it is a good treat since they are quite big.
The Croissants are really fulfilling & there is nice place outside to sit
The pastries were absolutely incredible. We tried the red velvet croissant which was so delicious without being too rich or sweet, we loved it so much we had to get more for the road! Also the coffees are really smooth & balance their sweet treats perfectly.
La Cave à Manger is one of those places you might stroll past without realizing what you're missing-but stepping inside is like uncovering a little slice of culinary delight in the heart of the Old Port. Though the space is small, they've packed it full of mouthwatering treats that make every visit a pleasure.
Their selection of baked goods is outstanding, but if you try just one thing, make it their circular stuffed croissants. The combination of flaky, buttery pastry with irresistible fillings is something you simply have to taste to believe. My girlfriend & I have been here a few times, & it never disappoints-each visit leaves us planning our next stop for another bite.
The service is just as impressive as the food. The staff are friendly & attentive, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. & while the prices might be a bit higher than what you'd find in the suburbs, they perfectly match the Old Port's upscale vibe, with quality that more than justifies the cost.
La Cave à Manger may be easy to overlook at first glance, but once you experience it, you'll understand why it consistently earns a spot on our must-visit list.
The cappuccino was really good. So was the red velvet croissant & yes the server!
Not really a spot where you can seat & hangout, but they have proper viennoiseries (baked goods).
Great variety of pastries, I've tried four & all of them were absolutely delicious. London fog tea needs some improvement though, but you can't excel at everything at the same time
