Review Summary

La Cave à Manger is a highly regarded bakery in Old Montreal, frequently praised for its high-quality pastries, notably its signature filled croissant rolls, buttery croissants, and fresh bread. While many visitors consider it a hidden gem offering an authentic European experience with friendly service and an inviting atmosphere, some reviews note that the space is small, the prices can be high, and consistency in flavor or freshness varies. The bakery also offers savory options like sandwiches and pizza, alongside coffee and wine, with many guests recommending the outdoor seating area despite occasional issues with local wildlife.

The croissant was extremely dry & hard to eat. I had to chase it down with my water. Disappointed really

Not many baked good choices & croissants was not fresh or as expected from a good bakery. Tourist trap? Maybe , overpriced as well.

The tropical mango croissant was absolutely amazing 🥭🥐 I make a point of stopping by La Cave à Manger every time I'm in Montreal. Always worth the visit!

The place is really good. They offer a variety of sandwiches & pastries, including red velvet & pistachio croissants, which are very good. The coffee is also great, & they even have salmon bagel sandwiches. There is a small seating area inside, but the outdoor seating outside is much better especially since it's located in the Old port!
