Review Summary

La Cave à Manger is a highly regarded bakery in Old Montreal, frequently praised for its high-quality pastries, notably its signature filled croissant rolls, buttery croissants, and fresh bread. While many visitors consider it a hidden gem offering an authentic European experience with friendly service and an inviting atmosphere, some reviews note that the space is small, the prices can be high, and consistency in flavor or freshness varies. The bakery also offers savory options like sandwiches and pizza, alongside coffee and wine, with many guests recommending the outdoor seating area despite occasional issues with local wildlife.

The almond croissant is ridiculous. So fresh, so tender!! Must be the best in Canada

Pistachio croissant was yummy & big, very much shareable between people :P Pepperoni pizza was alright, loaded of pepperoni which is great, but they were not crispy enough. The iced chai latte wasn't that good, it wasn't strong enough & tasted too milky. The service was a little off, a little rude:( except for when I talked to the owner, he was super sweet!

Pistachio roll at $12.50 was decent, but not great, & will not return. Crust better than average, but filling average at best. Does not justify the ratings or price.

Une découverte improbable dans une cave une boulangerie aux pâtisseries trop bonne & un chocolat chaut guimauve & citrouille épicée incroyable.

Possibly the worst chocolatine I've ever had. It was bread with a stick of chocolate inside. Luckily the bread is decent & the location is cool.
