La Catrina ressort comme une adresse mexicaine vive et conviviale, avec des portions généreuses et des saveurs authentiques, le guacamole préparé à la table et les tacos variés étant particulièrement appréciés. L'ambiance, le décor coloré et la terrasse du Vieux Port contribuent à une expérience chaleureuse et festive qui donne envie de revenir en famille ou entre amis. Le service est généralement attentif et sympathique, et les margaritas ainsi que les plats frais sont souvent cités comme des points forts. Quelques observations sur le rythme du service lors des heures d'affluence existent, mais l'ensemble reste largement positif et favorable à une belle soirée.
Great food, good service. We had no wait, we arrived at 5, & there weren't many people but next time I'll make a reservation to make sure we don't have to wait. I've heard from staff that the restaurant is usually busy. We had the pork tacos, highly recommend them.
We stumbled upon La Catrina when visiting Montreal 5 years ago & have been talking about it ever since. For our family trip this year, we booked a reservation to be sure we could get a table. The service was friendly & fantastic, & every single thing from the guacamole to the chips, drinks, & tacos were amazing. This is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant I've been to anywhere & will make a point to visit every time I'm in Montreal.
This is authentic Mexican food & it's amazingly delicious!! We ordered the beef brisket tacos & the fried chicken tacos. Everything was made to PERFECTION! The atmosphere & environment is clean & welcoming. Thank you to our waitress Catherine! She was amazing & so friendly!
Lovely place, great service, but very long wait to receive our food (over 1h for tacos & octopus). Very tasty though. Drink were ok, need to refine their margaritas, it's not made with real lime juice.... not consistent either & expensive, but I guess that's what you paid in the old port.

Mon plat de tacos au poisson frit était vraiment délicieux, mais l'assiette est petite. Au sous-sol, les petites lampes de table ont manqué de batterie, donc on était dans l'obscurité une grande partie de la soirée.
Petit resto vraiment sympathique. Le service est excellent & l'ambiance parfaite. La musique était bonne sans toutefois être trop forte. Les tacos étaient délicieux. L'assiette dégustation est un must Seul.petit point plus négatif le prix des cocktails était un peu élevé selon moi.
Very nice place with an atmospheric underground bar. Classy margaritas, enjoyable tacos, & on the first floor, a Port-Side view. Definitely a stop to make.
Second time coming to this Catrina location. Highly recommend the shrimp & fish tacos !! They make the guacamole in front of the table which is fun but depending which waiter you get the taste varies. Be sure to watch & tell them what you like (more salt, less spice, extra onions etc etc).

I nice place to eat & the service is very nice (perfectly bilingual) however the food is very average. I paid 25 dollars for 5 different small tacos & I would say that only one was really good while the others were bland.
Went here for a date & the staff was genuinely friendly, even though our waiter changed during the night. The food was excellent-highly recommend the shrimp tacos; they were phenomenal! ⭐️ Located in the old port, the restaurant space is quite small, but this turned out to be an advantage since it wasn't crowded the time we went & it allowed us to truly enjoy the cozy vibes in the lounge area. 🍸
We were lucky to find this awesome place in the old Port for dinner & drinks. First off, the cocktails are excellent. They have a good choice of sweet or sour options & both the ones we tried are elevated even with foam! The starter we had was incredible & unique. Highly recommend trying out the Esquites! For our mains we had the taco tasting platter, which included 5 different tacos. This was perfect for us as my partner does not eat meat. I had the beef brisket & pulled pork - both were fantastic. I preferred the beef more as it was so tender & tasty. We finished off with the classic churros. Perfect end to a fabulous meal. These were fresh, warm & soft on the inside. The caramel sauce wasn't too sweet, which is perfect for me. Overall this place is so. So good. They prepare fresh guac at your table & the ambience in the restaurant is excellent for a date night. Highly recommended!

Pedi unos frijoles charros, lo que recibi fueron frijoles cocidos con Cebolla, tambien pedí tacos y no estaban preparados como realmente son, si quieres algo que sepa mexicano de verdad aqui no es . Ah y en el establecimiento nadie habla espanol.
I was really unimpressed with this place. The guacamole was good, but I was disappointed by the tacos. The al pastor was basic - can't fault that one. The brisket tacos were waaaay too salty, & were sitting in a pool of their own juices. The tortillas were mushy when they came to the table because of it. I get that we're in the old port, but their prices were absurd. Spending almost $100 for two people to have 4 small tacos each, share a guacamole & have one drink? That's not okay.
-très bon churros frais, mais gâteau tres leches pas le même cas.
-l'absence d'une bonne salsa (une salsa en bouteille ne remplace pas une salsa pour un bon taco).
-La vente de tacos à l'unité serait une bonne idée, afin de pouvoir essayer différentes variétés de tacos.
I absolutely love this place! very charming & warm, & the food is so good & has unique flavours! I ordered the guacamole which they make in front of you, it tastes so refreshing. I also had the fried chicken tacos which was so juicy, fresh & tasty. I absolutely love how generous the chicken is. Big shout out to the chef.
