Returned after 5+ years & was disappointed. The food quality seems to have gone downhill, & my friends all agreed. The birria tacos came without cheese, & the medium guacamole portion was small with no option for a large.
Drinks were good, but with so many great Mexican spots in Montreal, this one didn't stand out. Hopefully it was just an off night.
Amazing service, legit Mexican food made with good quality ingredients. The room is a bit on the colder side in the winter time. We would've stayed longer & had more drinks if it was properly heated. Still, a must if you're in Chinatown l/Quartier des Spectacles area.
visiting from toronto & i came for my birthday dinner & wow the tacos were so delicious with a good amount of meat & toppings!! the jamaika mezcalita was made amazingly, i wish i got to try more of their drinks but it is such a friendly & welcoming establishment i would definitely go back again!!
I Revisited La Capital & I tried the Speciality Menu (Barrio) which the single tacos were Amazing !! They were Full of Flavour & Fresh Ingredients! It's a popular place amongst locals so come early to get a seat! Again, the Service Staff were Excellent! They take the time to explain the wonderful & tasty dishes. Overall the tacos are very good & they have a decent drink menu. Thank you guys & I will definitely be back again to try the other Tacos !!!
Service not bad & tacos are good (homemade tortilla), & they're consistent, which is cool. Just don't rush to pay the bill & tips, if you don't drink alcohol the witnesses gonna push you away.
One of the best Margaritas & tacos I've ever had.The experience at La Capital Tacos is awesome, not only for its delicious food & drinks, but also thanks to the friendliness & good vibes of the entire staff. Everything we've tried is delicious. Our favorites are the tacos al pastor, the quesabirria, & the beans. All the margaritas are delicious, from the classic to the tamarindo. My husband & I go quite often, just the two of us or with friends, & we always leave very pleased & want to return soon. Although there are sometimes lines, it's totally worth the wait, as the entire experience, from the food & drinks to the cheerful & pleasant atmosphere, is truly unforgettable.

As a vegetarian, I often have a tricky time finding places that serve flavorful vegetarian options without soy. I tried the choriopa taco( has soy) but had to try , which wasn't my favorite, but the hongos al ajillo were absolutely delicious-so full of flavor that I had to go back for seconds.drinks are good as well
For dessert, we enjoyed what was hands down the best tres leches cake I've ever had.
Overall, the menu is well thought out, packed with flavor, & full of authenticity.
This little joint is hopping all the time. The food is excellent & the drinks are not for the faint but they pair excellent with the food. Atmosphere is great but it can get loud due to it's size. We stayed in the area for a week & never saw an empty table. The servers are flying but still manage to make you feel welcomed.
I recently visited La Capital Tacos at 1096 St Laurent Blvd, Montreal, Quebec H2Z 1J5, & what a incredibly vibrant place it is! 🌮 You can really feel that the team here is passionate about sharing the rich culture & history of their cuisine. The staff is friendly & welcoming, which immediately makes you feel at ease. 😊

The food & drinks were excellent-no complaints there. Everything we ordered was flavorful & well-prepared.
However, the service did not live up to the same standard. We felt rushed to place our food order while we were still enjoying our drinks, which disrupted the relaxed atmosphere we were hoping for. After our meal, while we were still chatting at the table, a staff member abruptly began wiping the table-even though we were clearly not ready to leave. Not only was this unnecessary, but the table was left wet, which made it uncomfortable.
To make matters worse, when we asked to split the bill into two-something that should have been simple given our nearly identical orders-the server made errors three times before getting it right.
Overall, while the food was great, the service left a lot to be desired. With more attentive & considerate staff, the experience could have matched the quality of the kitchen.

I wish I could say this restaurant was a must since the food was so good. However, the service was so bad we won't return. We made a reservation but our table was not ready & we had to wait for one to be free. Our server made us wait a while before ordering drinks & food, & he was going to other tables to take their order even if they arrived after us. He didn't check on us one time after we ordered & received our food. We never got utensils & napkins, even though every other table had them? We couldn't even ask our server for napkins. My friend never received her drink & we had no chance to tell him since he was not checking on us at all. We had to tell him after we received the check that she was charged the drink without receiving it. We wanted to ask for more chips & we couldn't find a way to get his attention so we never got them. We were clearly celebrating a birthday & he didn't even mention it, even though he asked the girls next to us if it was their birthday & offered them a round of shots on the house when they said yes. The food was very good except for the birria tacos. Sadly, good food does not make up for terrible service!

We have been here way too many times. Such an easy pick: great food at a good price & excellent casual vibe. You can't go wrong.
Their food is fantastic & the drinks even more! The Habanera margarita is my favorite.
They recently opened a place next door called Barrio & you can order from both restaurants which is awesome.
Gets pretty busy but quick service.

Hands down my favourite find for tacos in Montreal, late night drive helped me find this gem with my friends. Drinks & tacos were absolutely delicious & I strongly recommend the birria tacos as they were so tender & the salsa was just fantastic. Strongly recommend stopping here for tacos when you are in Montreal.
Great location to eat, many of the servers speak spanish so I liked that a lot. Birria tacos where great & also the Flan & the Banana frita. Great place to go eat some good tacos & if you drink you will also like it
The ambience was fun & the tacos were delicious & authentic. Drinks were great too. We ordered many of the dishes & shared everything. Good sauces. Would love to try the other dishes on the menu.
