I don't know if the doughnuts I tried were old but I found them very dry & chewy. The flavors were very light. The carrot cake one was disappointing. No spice. The apple fritter was very stale & had no apple kick. The dominant flavor is sugar. I hate to say it, but I actually prefer Tim Hortons to this. Too expensive also.View more

Some of the most wondrous things in our world exist for only a day. Insects with wings of incredible complexity & colour, tears from a child whose desire for chocolate milk was left wanting, & of course doughnuts. Their very reason for being is temporary, for to gaze upon them for too long is to fall into a terrible trap of gluttony & self recrimination. No doughnuts we given to us by gods who also left us with the horror of free will. & your free will WILL be tested. Montreal has many fine, nay very fine shops of this sort, & this is one of them. The dough itself is as plump as a German stereotype & their glazes & icings sweeter than the sap from trees on gumdrop island. These are classic doughnuts with exciting finishes, my favourite kind. Indulge yourself, but be wary, as the gods are watching.View more

Having strolled past La Beignerie a few times, we finally stopped in for a snack, hoping for a little treat. We arrived an hour & a half before closing but were disappointed to find only a couple of doughnut choices left. It's hard to say if that's a sign of high demand or just poor planning on their part, but either way, it severely limited our options. We opted for a doughnut served with a twist: cut in half, with ice cream in the middle, whipped cream on top, & Oreo sprinkles. It looked delicious & was perfectly portioned for sharing. The ice cream was nice, & the whipped cream with Oreo was, of course, a fun addition. However, the doughnut itself was a letdown. It was so tough that even with two forks, cutting through it was a struggle. The texture was unexpectedly chewy, making the experience less enjoyable. While the concept was fun & the toppings were good, the doughnut itself just didn't hold up. Sadly, I'd give this place a pass next time.View more

Amazing go to doughnut shop in the area! They offer so much variety in doughnuts & so far every flavour I've tried hasn't disappointed. The matcha & blueberry fritter are top of my recommendations for people trying this place for the first time. The staff is lovely & they have a small patio to enjoy your food on. There's also merch you can buy here that are really cute! Definitely worth a trip if you're just passing through town or looking for a new spot in the city!View more

Oh. My. God. I ate my chocolate-frosted doughnut & my strawberry-frosted doughnut, back to back. I don't think I've ever eaten two donuts in one day, much less than in one sitting! I actually saved the Boston cream style, which has a different name, & the Earl Grey one for later.they were day old by the time I ate them & still in good shape! For some reason, I didn't like them as much as I liked the less fancy ones. Can't wait to go back, repeat, the chocolate, the strawberry, & try the Matcha... Cuz, why not?View more

The atmosphere & service was great but the doughnuts don't live up to the hype. Doughnuts were cold & hard/chewy & I though the doughnuts are overly sweet. Also the price is outrageous for the food it should cost maybe 10- 15 dollars. Just get Tim's.View more

Tried the rose pistachio & the coconut doughnuts. Coconut was definitely my favourite, the toasted coconut was delish & it was beautifully balanced by the salted caramel sauce. Light, fluffy, & fresh.View more

This is heaven!!!! If I can give more stars I would ...... Simply the best, can't recommend just one doughnut have them all. Hands down the best doughnuts!
