They were so warm & welcoming just like how it is in Thailand. Coming made me feel like i was back in Thailand again. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for some real Thai food. I had the papaya salad extra extra spicy 🥵 the chicken wings were nice & crispy. The pad thai was on point
Hidden gems I love the Thai food here green curry with rice & salad papaya are so good 👍 this is my 2 time & never disappoint it
I will bring my friend back again
Stumbled upon this place a few months ago. It has quickly become one of my go to places. The food is amazing, I always take the papaya salad, extra spicy. I've had alot of their menu & one of my favorite dishes is the Pad kee Mao the thick rice noodles are fresh & chewy, the texture is unmatched & a rare find.
Absolutely try this place. The staff are full of smiles, polite & efficient.
Positive experience: Tom yum, papaya salad, sticky rice - everything was good as well as the service.
Khao San Resto Thai is amazing. The food is absolutely delicious. We couldn't stop eating & finished every dish we ordered. I highly recommend the Tom Kha Soup, green papaya salad, & red curry. They are all unique & full of flavor. If you are looking for authentic & tasty Thai food, this is the place to go. I wish I could lived in Montreal, so that I can go there every week!
I recently visited Thai Khao San & loved their papaya salad & mango sticky rice! The papaya salad was a perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, & spicy, with crisp green papaya & a satisfying crunch from the peanuts. The mango sticky rice was heavenly-soft, sweet rice paired with juicy, ripe mango & creamy coconut drizzle. Both dishes were fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. Highly recommend for an authentic Thai dining experience!
Authentic Thai food cooked by Thai chefs! I tried the papaya salad (ส้มตำ) with a side of sticky rice (ข้าวเหนียว), larb gai tod (ลาบไก่ทอด) & pad thai (ผัดไทย), which were all so good, like the ones I ate in Thailand. The pad thai is freshly fried & you can see the frying action live with bursts of fire (evidence of an amazing fried dish)!! For chilli lovers/haters, you can also customise the spiciness of your food by telling the staff when ordering. For those who love stronger & super local Thai flavours, I recommend ordering the papaya salad with salted crab (ส้มตำปูปลาร้า) & the papaya salad platter (ตำถาด) . The papaya salad with salted crab has more umami & a saltier flavour profile while the papaya salad platter features delicious side dishes like crispy pork belly (หมูทอด), Thai fish cakes (ทอดมันปลา) & a unique Thai fermented pork (แหนม). Both of these are not on the menu but they can cook it for you if ordered! Overall, my experience with the food & service here was superb, not to mention how the restaurant is conveniently located near berri-uqam station :)))
If you've been on the real Khao San road at least before 2012 or the Phi Phi & you've been disappointed in any Thai place you tried since, this is the place you gotta try. Amazing service, flavor, proper spice level (thai, not North American), proper wok hei... I've had papaya salad, basil stir fry with beef, Thai milk tea & mango sticky rice. Can't wait to go back.
Lovely new discovery! Food was absolutely delicious, flavourful & fresh. Highly recommend the nam tok (beef) & the thai iced tea. Papaya salad was too spicy for us but still good. You can modify the spice level to your preference. Staff was kind & checking up on us regularly. Will definitely be back to try more items!
I'm totally in love with this adorable Thai restaurant! It's like stepping back into the days of enjoying scrumptious Thai street food on Khaosan Road. The food was absolutely amazing; it was like savoring homemade meals in Thailand. 🇹🇭 I even had the chance to customize the spiciness level of my pad thai & stir-fried basil crispy pork. & oh, the heavenly mango sticky rice for dessert, such a fantastic touch to serve fresh & piping hot Thai authentic dishes straight from the wok. We even got to see the wokhei technique in action! A huge shoutout to the Lady Chef, 👍👍Don't miss out on the Tam thad (mixed combination papaya salad 🌶 sweet sticky with durian & coconut milk, it's so unique & it's the ONLY place in Montreal that serves this. I'll be back againg for sure
Very good Thai food here. Fresh ingredients & flavorful dishes. I got papaya salad & pad se ew (shrimp). Both were really good. Pad se ew was charred nicely & it makes a huge difference for me. The only thing that bothered me was the music, but it's ok, food is great.
Tasty, authentic & a great value! We were there on a Saturday evening. Ordered tom yum, papaya salad, sticky rice & fried ginger with tofu. Great flavour & the owner is incredibly welcoming. Amazing find on St Denis!
Finally!!! Amazing thai restaurant!! I went 2 times within 3 days! If you want try authentic som tham salad (papaya salad) ask it with salted crab Its just so good!! & all the employees are just so kind!! Yesterday i did papaya salad to go, & the employee was : oh hey!! Welcome back! (She remembered me!) Please give a try to this restaurant! You wont regret! See you soon :)
Incredible service by knowledgeable server from Thai server. The food comes surprisingly fast & is AMAZING. We tried the papaya salad, the beef salad, the green curry is my personal recommendations. It tatse exactlt like in Thailand. Thai cuisine is so much more than pad thai...please. We also tried the crispy pork with basil fried rice, pad see ew, & tom yum soup
I don't live in Montreal but discovered this restaurant on google maps using the key words "sticky rice". Going through other review's photos, I spotted a mixed plate with what looked like fermented pork sausage & I was sold. The mixed plate, which features papaya salad, fish cake, crispy pork, fermented sausage & rice noodles, isn't technically on the menu, but when I showed them the photo from a past customer, they happily accommodated my request! The papaya salad was very good! Acidic, funky, crunchy, sweet & also featured salted crab which was very exciting to see & taste. Since my first time trying fermented pork sausage, I've been on the hunt for it in Canada & this one didn't disappoint. This was super funky & garlicky, with that signature deliciously bouncy texture. The server was very friendly & curious about my interest in Thai food & after talking about our experiences eating at Som Tum Jinda in Toronto, she was excited to recommend me their durian coconut sticky rice dessert, which was also very good. I was told that they have only been open for 2 months which explains why the restaurant wasn't busier during my visit- but based on the deliciousness, range in their menu, kind service & clean cute environment, I don't imagine it'll be this quiet for much longer. Excited to come back & try more!
The best authentic Thai restaurant in Montreal 😍 Need to try tomyum soup, pad thai, especially Papaya salad with extra crispy pork 💯 Taste delicious - Friendly service 👍🏻
if ur craving thaï food this is the best place ! The papaya salad & the shrimp pad Thai so good 😋😋
