We had an incredible dining experience at Khao San Resto Thai, & I can confidently say it's a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Thai flavors in Montreal!
We ordered a variety of dishes:
• Chicken Satay
• Red Curry Chicken & Rice
• Sweet & Sour Chicken
• Tofu Fried Rice, Chicken Fried Rice
• Chicken Noodle Soup
• Mango Sticky Rice
Every single dish was prepared to perfection - fresh ingredients, bold flavors, & beautiful presentation. My personal favorite was the Sweet & Sour Chicken with rice. The chicken was perfectly crispy, served with bell peppers, red chilies, onions, pineapple, & carrots. It delivered that perfect balance of sweet, sour, & spicy, paired with a generous portion of rice. Absolutely delicious!
The Chicken Satay was tender & flavorful with a rich peanut sauce, & the Red Curry Rice had the right amount of heat & creaminess. The Tofu Fried Rice was well-seasoned & satisfying, & the Chicken Noodle Soup offered a comforting, aromatic broth. To top it off, the Mango Sticky Rice was the perfect sweet ending - fresh, fragrant, & beautifully plated.
& for those who enjoy a good drink, don't miss out on their famous Singha & Chang beers - authentic Thai brews that really complete the experience.
The service was fantastic - the staff were genuinely kind, attentive, & ensured we had everything we needed. Our food arrived quickly, & we felt well taken care of throughout the meal.
If you're in Montreal & craving Thai cuisine, Khao San Resto Thai is a spot you shouldn't miss. We'll definitely be coming back!
Stumbled upon this place by accident but we were pleasantly surprised! The service was really great & accommodating- attentive but not over the top. The food was authentic & delicious! Best Thai food I've had in Montreal.

We visited this restaurant for authentic Thai food & they didn't disappoint us. The taste was great & the service was good, but we (as Thai people) were surprised with the bill that the restaurant charged us for additional spiciness. It was unacceptable & shameful for Thai restaurant. Please stop this.
Reply after owner's answer:
There was no'extra chili' price in the menu & we were not informed about the additional price during the ordering. In addition, there was no bill to confirm before the payment. But that is not really the matter. The important thing is that real Thai restaurants will never charge for the extra chili, because authentic Thai food is considered spicy as default. I just feel that this is not really a Thai restaurant that Thai people should visit.
For the full authentic Thai experience (authentic Thai flavours, Thai-family owned, Thai Chefs, the genuine kindness of a service done by Thai themselves) in Montreal, I recommend Khao San.
& Khao San is really well located in an area with plenty of things to do around. I will come back to enjoy more of your great food, Khao San!
We bought Pad Kra Pao, Crispy shrimp, Thai fried rice & mango sticky rice. We came to Montreal for a short vacation & after a very long time I had "authentic thai food" at Khao San Montreal. Food was so good, portion size & prices are reasonable. Will definitely come back when we visit Montreal again. Was craving for Thai & it definitely hit the spot! Best thai food ever! Coming from a person who visited Bangkok frequently. Staff is super kind & friendly & helpful!

I love Thai food! What I love more is AUTHENTIC Thai food. Khao San Resto didn't disappoint at all. The food & service exceeded my expectations. Eating there truly brought back memories when I visited Thailand years ago. We ordered mango salad, red curry with shrimp, & beef stir fry with ginger. We also got vegetarian & shrimp Tom Yum soup. Our server was Gooi & she was great! I'm definitely coming back here to try more dishes!
Khao San Resto Thai is amazing. The food is absolutely delicious. We couldn't stop eating & finished every dish we ordered. I highly recommend the Tom Kha Soup, green papaya salad, & red curry. They are all unique & full of flavor. If you are looking for authentic & tasty Thai food, this is the place to go. I wish I could lived in Montreal, so that I can go there every week!
I recently visited Thai Khao San & loved their papaya salad & mango sticky rice! The papaya salad was a perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, & spicy, with crisp green papaya & a satisfying crunch from the peanuts. The mango sticky rice was heavenly-soft, sweet rice paired with juicy, ripe mango & creamy coconut drizzle. Both dishes were fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. Highly recommend for an authentic Thai dining experience!
Brought me right back in Thailand. Best Thai food have had in MTL in years, maybe ever. Tom Yum & Kha soup are incredibly flavorfull with a rich brooth. Not fusion style, really authentic.

Authentic Thai food cooked by Thai chefs! I tried the papaya salad (ส้มตำ) with a side of sticky rice (ข้าวเหนียว), larb gai tod (ลาบไก่ทอด) & pad thai (ผัดไทย), which were all so good, like the ones I ate in Thailand. The pad thai is freshly fried & you can see the frying action live with bursts of fire (evidence of an amazing fried dish)!! For chilli lovers/haters, you can also customise the spiciness of your food by telling the staff when ordering. For those who love stronger & super local Thai flavours, I recommend ordering the papaya salad with salted crab (ส้มตำปูปลาร้า) & the papaya salad platter (ตำถาด) . The papaya salad with salted crab has more umami & a saltier flavour profile while the papaya salad platter features delicious side dishes like crispy pork belly (หมูทอด), Thai fish cakes (ทอดมันปลา) & a unique Thai fermented pork (แหนม). Both of these are not on the menu but they can cook it for you if ordered! Overall, my experience with the food & service here was superb, not to mention how the restaurant is conveniently located near berri-uqam station :)))
Most authentic pad thai I've ever had in montreal. The bean sprouts were crunchy & the rice noodles were cooked perfectly. The red curry dish was perfectly spicy with a nice portion of rice.
Fantastic thai food !! We had to order the same dish twice ( pad see ew) . We ate soo fast that we didnt have time to take good pictures 🤪 Very authentic. Do try the Nam tok Beef! The coconut juice was great too.
This place is authentic! We had the Thai iced, green curry (with shrimp), mango salad. All were delish. The pad see ew was good. Not as spicy as we'd hoped. Overall a great experience, Gooi was a great host. Definitely recommend this place!

Hole in the wall place... it's a bit confusing when you approach the building since there are multiple restaurants & banners hanging. This place is on the first floor. We had vegetarian food there for dinner that day - & all the food was pretty good. The Tom kha soup was delicious, & the mango salad was popping with flavor. We requested that the restaurant sub tofu & they we got plenty of it!!! The curry was authentic - thin & slightly runny & I'm told authentic Thai curries often are. We didn't try any dessert. Gui was the only server & there were 3 tables occupied & more tables turning - although slowly- as time went by. She did a great job of hustling around & managing the tables with a smile. The portions are fairly small, so be prepared to order some more.
