I've been a regular customer of Ketiw for a solid bit now & honestly this place never gets old. I particularly love their chicken sandwich but their thai iced tea, pandan green tea, & large selection of soups are all excellent! I would eat here every day if I could.
Taking off one star because I found a piece of hard metal in my soup & when I showed the server she seemed to have no interest in informing the kitchen of a possible hazard & even went as far as suggesting it came off my clothing instead of taking any proper measures to figure out what happened. A bit disappointing to be honest, I could've easily chipped a tooth.View more
Been here a couple times, soups, sandwiches & noodles are great. Good vibe. Suppppper accommodating to families with babies & food intolerance! Sincerely appreciative of their accommodationsView more
The noodle soup was very delicious. Originally, I wanted to try the egg noodles but was not available at the time. I guess I should come back again to try it.View more
We love the noodles here. We especially enjoy the Khuy Teav Phnom Penh rice noodles with soup on the side, which pairs perfectly with a side of Chakway. The noodle bowl is well-mixed, & if you can handle spicy food, adding more hot sauce makes it even better. Their Thai iced tea is excellent too. The chicken Banh Mi is also very good; they add lemon leaves, which enhances the flavor of the chicken, a small detail that makes a big difference. In Asian cuisine, this combination is common, but not many restaurants here pay attention to it. The pickles are made from papaya, not the usual daikon typically paired with Banh Mi. The staff is friendly, & the place, including the bathroom, is very clean.View more
Great food & friendly staff. The noodle soup was really fresh & delicious (though not big enough, but okay with the price) However, I think the summer rolls were quite expensive. $6+tax for just 1 rolls. Most shops sell like 2 rolls for $6-8 similar in size.View more
Banh Soung pour ma douce avec une bonne soupe en entrée & Num Pang poulet Kroeung pour moi. Tout était bon & frais mais nous nous avons préféré le poulet au boeuf. Recommandé!View more
Since I moved to Verdun two months ago, this has become my new favourite spot. I'm obsessed with their Kuy Teav soup & their lemongrass chicken. The soup is so flavourful & i like that it's lighter than pho broth which usually has a substantial layer of beef fat floating on top - this broth is so light & flavourful without all that extra fat. The chicken is always cooked perfectly - juicy & packing full flavour. I will try their other restaurant soon because I'm so impressed.View more
I recommend the pork sandwich. The soup noodles are small for the price.View more
Nice & cozy. Atmosphere was good, & the staff was friendly. Food was good & affordable. Nothing to complain about. This time I tryied their sandwichs, & I would probably go there again to try their soups.View more
This place got the SAUCE, literally... For a little hole in the wall, this restaurant surely packs a punch of flavor & atmosphere. I ordered the spring rolls & one of their soups, both were scrumptious. (What ever they put in that sauce for the spring rolls? Amazing.) Service was fantastic, we were recommended choices on the menu that did NOT disappoint. Having a clear view of the kitchen is a great feature of a restaurant that I really appreciate. Atmosphere was wonderful, felt like I was eating in a really cute cafe that sells tasty snacks on the side! All in all, I would highly recommend this place to anyone who's craving some soup or Asian cuisine! P.s: Who ever has Aux, the playlist was 🔥View more
Five star everything here: soup, sandwich, service, ambiance. Just a perfect afternoon in the sun!View more
I love a good no fuss restaurant & this place hits the spot every time. The flavours are very reminiscent of my travels to Cambodia with a modernized vibe & great attention to detail. Their ketiw & num pang are my go-to dishes. To be honest, it's a constant dilemma between the two & I get fomo whenever I choose one over the other. I will say, I'm happiest when I order both (with the soup on the side is a must!) Such a great combo! I leave satiated & with half a sandwich for the next day that I look forward to. A staple & a favourite for sure. Great little restaurant, highly recommend.View more
The sandwich was so good that it me cry. Some background: twenty years ago, I spent a wonderful couple of days in New York City, crashing in friends' tiny, tiny apartments, hanging out with good friends & a really sweet guy I'd just started seeing. & man, I'd sure been having some tough times that time of my life, but I remember being incredibly happy for the first time in ages. My friend & I had to split off early, & as we were sitting in a Chinatown bus, waiting to head back to Washington, DC, we both realized we were starving. My buddy bolted off the bus & returned a few minutes later, bearing a nondescript brown paper bag containing 2 sandwiches, which we devoured as the bus drove away from NYC. We weren't sure what the sandwiches actually were when we opened them up. "I saw a line, & the dude at the end said these sandwiches were REALLY GOOD," my friend explained. He was wrong, though: they were extraordinary. I had to research a bit to even find out their name, since bahn mi hadn't really gotten popular at that point. I'd never had anything like it, so crispy-soft-spicy-savoury-sweet. I still love bahn mi, but of course nothing will ever taste quite as good as something special in your memory. Anyway, the Num Pang Beef at Ketiw isn't a bahn mi, but it is extraordinary on its own merits, & is probably the best sandwich I've had in years. I want to name an ingredient that really takes it to the next level-the bread, the meat, even just the veggies, but it's all phenomenal. It *also* reminded me of being young & falling in love, & starting to believe that maybe the world could be full of nice things to discover, instead of a terrible struggle. However, I cannot guarantee that you will experience this last bit (I haven't tried Mom's imperial rolls but the name makes me suspect they could induce a similar experience for certain people). It was probably for the best that we ordered delivery, or I might have burst into tears in public. I asked my husband (of course it's the same dude I had just started dating 20 years ago, still just as sweet) & he assures me that it is, in fact, a really great sandwich on its own merits, even if you don't have a strange Proust-eating-madelines emotional reaction to it. This time around, we split the sandwich, which I guess is only fair, since he missed the last one (HIS OWN FAULT for going to a concert instead of hanging out with his cool new girlfriend). The wonton soup, which I enjoyed in a much more normal way, is really good too.View more
I am sooo happy they opened in the neighborhood. I used to go get the Phnom Penh soup all the way in Cotes des neiges. I no longer need to go that far. Their soup is authentic & delicious. It is now my go to place when I want this. I love it I will definetely try more things on their menu.View more
Excellent casual atmosphere, many steps up from a usual Asian restaurant. Rice noodles have good texture & chewiness. However, it only gets 3 stars for two reasons. First, the broth is way too sweet, & it doesn't have a complex taste. Second, the ingredients are cheap. The equally over-sweetened BBQ pork comes from a cheap cut. Spring sprouts are not fresh as the tips are black already. We did not finish our soup & left with both surprise & disappointment. We are surprised that this place gets 4.8 stars. We are disappointed by the overall quality.View more
Lovely & delicious. Ordered take out: Soup & sandwich. Everything was delicious & immediately devoured. Love that they have the fried bread as a companion to soup. We ate everything before remembering to take pics. Recommend the- Imperial rolls soup+ fried bread Sandwiches ( beef & chicken were tried & both were fantastic)View more
Excellent ! La soupe est savoureuse, les rouleaux & la sandwich ! Un petit goût de revenez-y ! Service impeccable, cuisine savoureuse, je vais y retourner !View more
Lovely. The staff was patient while I was ordering. The food was amazing; lot’s of different flavours & texture just in one soup. The space is well decorated & aesthetically inviting. Definitely recommend!View more
