Kazu brille comme un izakaya authentique à Montréal, offrant des plats savoureux et soigneusement préparés avec une touche créative qui mêle techniques japonaises traditionnelles et influences occidentales; le menu propose des portions généreuses, un excellent rapport qualité-prix et des spécialités comme le katsu curry, avec une cuisine servie au bar que l'on peut admirer en action; l'ambiance est animée, chaleureuse et intime avec un personnel amical et attentif, mais des files d'attente persistent et les places assises sont limitées, surtout les soirs chargés, et certains commentaires signalent une certaine variabilité du service; globalement, il s'agit d'un des meilleurs spots japonais en ville et l'attente en vaut la peine pour beaucoup.
For the past 10 years, Kazu has been my absolute favorite Japanese restaurant in Montreal, & it's long overdue that I share how exceptional this place truly is.
Every single year, I celebrate my birthday here because I know I'm guaranteed an unforgettable meal. Every plate is a voyage for the palate, crafted with care, precision, & incredible culinary talent. Honestly, I can't remember a single time I've ever been disappointed.
The ingredients are always fresh, thoughtfully prepared, & packed with flavor. Their grilled octopus is hands down the best I've ever had in my life, & the kama salmon collar - whenever it's available - is simply out of this world.
While the regular menu is consistently excellent, I highly recommend paying special attention to the seasonal dishes written on the small pieces of paper around the restaurant. Those limited-time creations are often the true highlights: refreshing, unique, creative, & an absolute must-try.
Kazu isn't just a restaurant to me - it's a staple of Japanese cuisine in Montreal & a place that has delivered memorable experiences year after year. If you haven't been yet, you're missing something special.
Soy mexicana, tengo el gusto de conocer al dueno, increíble chef, vivo en México un tiempo, de ahí inspirado su menú con una función entre mexicana y japonesa absolutamente deliciosa, los precios son super accesibles, porciones grandes, el equipo es super amable y atentos, el único inconveniente es el tamano del restaurante es demasiado pequeno, pero vale la pena ir e incluso hacer fila !!! 🇯🇵🍙🍱🇲🇽🌮

Oui, il y a de la queue, mais ça veut tout simplement dire que vous êtes en attente d'un moment magique.
L'attente fait presque partie de l'expérience. On est là, devant la vitre, à saliver en regardant la cuisine jongler entre le feu, les poêles, le poisson, la viande & j'en passe… un vrai spectacle.
Puis vient enfin le moment tant attendu : asseyez-vous & laissez-vous porter par vos envies. & par pitié, prenez les spéciaux ! À quoi bon avoir une carte quand il suffit de lever la tête pour voir tous ces trésors accrochés aux murs !
La carte est originale : sucrée, salée, épicée… impossible de ne pas y trouver son bonheur. & surtout, tout est exécuté à la perfection.
Une bonne leçon à retenir : tout vient à point à qui sait attendre.
Hands down my favourite place to eat when I'm downtown. The staff are super friendly, the vibes are great, & the food is always fresh & quick to get. Been there many times & will continue to do so.
Went to this place quite a few times as it was 15 minutes by foot from my office.
I knew I enjoyed the food, service & ambience but did not realise how much I would miss it now that I am in Alanya & never see a place like that.
When I think Sushi, I am more comfortable when I see really Sushi Chefs & thet did not dissapoint.
Love they way they greet everyone when we showed up.

If you're a fan of authentic cuisines, this place is for you. The live cooking & the authenticity of flavors is on another level. The con is the waiting time & the noise level but still not an obstacle for you to enjoy an amazing culinary journey. Will always go back for the amazing live cooking & new dishes.
Everything is bite size, but not cheap either. Ngl the worst okonomiyaki I've ever had. I thought Japanese people will make it more authentic, but it was honestly very bad. The buta don is literally the same taste as those instant package. They are always rushing you.

one of the best resturants I've been too in Montreal, the food is amazing the atmostphere is great & the brazed beef rib is to die for, if you go there prepare to wait in line
The grilled food is good with Japanese style. But the average price is little bit expensive than other Japanese restaurant. If you love sashimi, don't order the sashimi don here, unless you like don with 1/4 iced sashimi +1/4 rice +1/2 lettuce.
Went here with my girlfriend & WOW… Kazu was actually unreal. This place genuinely brought me back to Japan. The food was so good, full of flavor, super comforting, & honestly amazing value for the price.
The katsu curry especially was INSANE. Like holyyyyy 😭 easily one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Crispy, rich, flavorful, comforting… everything about it was perfect. I'm not even exaggerating when I say this is one of the first restaurants that almost made me cry because of how good it was.
My girlfriend & I were both so impressed. If you're in Montreal, you NEED to come here. Easily one of the best spots I've tried & I'll 1000% be coming back.
