Great meat options, good service & atmosphere (although air conditioning was cooold)
Got the Kamayan(?) platter to share which was 50$ (to be honest I found it a bit pricey for what we received but was still good)
Would recommend
We went to Kalapaw for lunch. We were one of the first ones there so we didn't have to wait. The food was absolutely delicious, a true taste of Filipino cuisine. The spaghetti is a must-have, to get a taste of sweet-style Filipino spaghetti. We ordered the kamayan for 2 but it was enough to satisfy 3 adults. We ordered leche flan for dessert & it did not disappoint. Definitely recommend Kalapaw for authentic Filipino cuisine!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kalapaw Filipino Cuisine in the West Island of Montreal, & I have to say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
I ordered the Chicken Adobo with rice, & it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich & authentic, with the perfect balance of savory, tangy, & slightly sweet - just how adobo should be. The chicken was tender & well-marinated, & the portion size was generous.
For dessert, I tried one of their Filipino sweets (I won't spoil it for you!), & it was simply amazing - the perfect way to end the meal. Sweet, comforting, & full of nostalgic flavor.
The service was another highlight: fast, professional, & very courteous. I felt welcomed the moment I walked in. The staff clearly takes pride in what they do.
The ambiance is warm, friendly, & relaxed. Whether you're new to Filipino cuisine or looking for a taste of home, Kalapaw provides a comfortable space to enjoy a great meal.
Highly recommend for anyone craving quality Filipino food in the West Island. I'll definitely be back!
There has already been words circulating about this place, & finally I can say it deserves a visit. The ambiance is above expectations; the service is very good; the foods are prepared as you order them; the price at par with other restaurants; the location is very good. Be very careful when you have dietary restrictions, be sure to ask. I strongly recommend this place.
The best place to eat & they serve good foods with the best quality of taste & the atmosphere was nice & relaxing not to much noise & we are so happy the way they served us.Kalapaw is a highly recommended for any person who likes Filipino Dishes.thumbs up for Kalapaw👍
Came here with my family for the first time. The interior was rather modern & clean. We were quickly sat & it didn't take long for our orders to be taken.
Our meals came out quickly. We shared the Lumpiang Shanghai, which each roll being delicious & crispy. We also shared the following meals: Adobo, Lechon Kawali, Sizzling Sisig & Palabok. For dessert, we had the Halo-Halo, the Calamansi Leche Flan & the Buko Pandan. It was my family's first time tasting this cuisine & everything was well-liked.
The service could have been more attentive. When we finished our water, our waitress took away the empty bottles but never came back with them. We had to remind her to bring us more water. However, this wasn't a big issue.
Overall, it was a lovely & great experience for a family dinner. Great culinary experience for my family as well. Would recommend!
The food & service at this restaurant is amazing!! Everything is so fresh & delicious: we ordered the oxtail, pork skewers & garlic fried rice. I highly recommend to those who want to try the best food from the Philippines!
Excellent resto! C'était notre première expérience de nourriture philippine & nous avons trouvé cela délicieux! Les portions sont généreuse & nous avons donc apporté les restes pour manger le lendemain. Le resto est très beau avec une belle ambiance. Nous le recommandons fortement!
Top notch! I definitely recommend Kalapaw for any other nationality who would like to try Filipino Cuisine for the first time!
Sunday Night, we called the place to ask if we can still dine in if it was very late. they agreed & accommodated us with open arms, a true & authentic trait of a Filipino- VERY HOSPITABLE. the sunday night staff was very patient & accommodating even they had to stay over time. The kids enjoyed their letchon kawali sinigang, it was a hit for everybody. This is our to go to Asian cuisine resto in the west island. Will always recommend this great restaurant to everyone.
Place is nice & clean, service was relatively fast. The food was delicious & full of flavor!🤩 We ordered the lumpiang shanghai rolls, the sizzling sisig & the chicken & veggies pancit bihon. The portions were very generous, more than enough for 2 people to share. Prices are fair for the quantity & flavor 👍🏻 This restaurant became one of my top favorites for filipino food & I absolutely recommend it! ☺️
Decided to try Kalapaw & it was 40% salty. We got several dishes as it's our first time to visit! We ordered the chicken inasal but it was disappointing. It was hard & salty, good thing it came with a vegetable salad to help with the saltiness. We also ordered sisig but it turned out salty, too! The kare kare, lechon kawali, calamares, sinigang, garlic rice were good tho! Overall, I recommend you to visit & try! :)
My family & I stayed at Marriot Bonvoy Residence Inn where we met Angel. She recommended Kalapaw Filipino Cuisine. We almost did not go there because of an impending snow storm. But we still went. We did not regret it. They were very friendly people. Great food. Great service. We got take out. Got back to our hotel, had dinner. Then the snow storm fell. Tried their kamayan platter, kare kare, palabok & lechon. Fantastic!
We ordered a mixed platter because we were craving for a “boodle fight” & the food is just okay. Not recommended to eat “boodle fight”, but I guess their other dish looks pretty good.
Additionally, have asked for a “bagoong/alamang” & they served the one that is not cooked & its very salty, there’s more room for improvement.
The ambience looks pretty decent. The mixed platter was served with chicken inasal(needs more seasoning/taste), salmon ceviche, salad, chicken wings(taste good), shrimps, & rice.
Suggestion: hope they add more fruits (mango/watermelon), side(tomatoes), make the chicken inasal more tastier, instead of chicken wings it would be best to switch it to lechon kawali & maybe add some cooked “alamang”.
We made reservation for 6:30 on a Monday. We ordered a few dishes for 7 adults & 2 children to share & it was enough to be full without over eating. Out of all the dishes ordered, our least favorite one was the sizzling pork sisig & the chicken wings...it felt like there was lack of flavor, maybe it is an off day. My personal favorites were: the pork skewers; so flavorful & the grill taste was simply divine! Followed in order of preferences: the salmon seviche with taro chips, the spaghetti filipino sauce, the adobo pork, the lumpia, pancit noodles. For desserts, we ordered the 3 different kind of deep fried rolls & halo halo. My personal favorite was the ube, then peach mango, then the jackfruit plantain.
The service was disappointing. We were served utentils for everyone, 4 napkins, & no plates. Even when the food came, we still didn't have plates to eat. We had to request/remind our original waiter. We had to remind them we didn't get our drink either. Water was filled only once (2 bottles filled all 9 glasses) so it was only as we finished our meal that we were broght more water. Another employee ended up helping our tables for the dessert round as we ordered almost all of them to share. This time around, this employee was on point.
The service took a while, but we were in good company so it helped.
I would recommend paying attention to the basics & do them well, & it would make this place a must place to eat for Filipino food.
Thank you for a flavorful meal.
