Review Summary

Kalapaw offers a wide variety of authentic and comforting Filipino dishes that many patrons find delicious, generous in portion, and highly reminiscent of home. While the restaurant is frequently praised for its vibrant atmosphere, welcoming staff, and overall quality, experiences regarding service can be inconsistent. Some visitors encounter long wait times for both dine-in and takeout orders, and a few guests have expressed frustration with communication issues and procedural difficulties during checkout. Despite these concerns, the establishment remains a popular destination in the West Island, known for standout menu items like the kamayan platter, halo-halo, and various classic comfort foods, making it a recommended spot for those seeking a genuine Filipino dining experience.

We ordered okoy, palabok & bulalo. okoy is not that tasty but texture was good, palabok had shrimps that are not well
cooked & still grayish & had to return to the kitchen, the waitress asked me to remove the shrimp out & put in a small plate. We have received the okoy & then the palabok… I have finished eating the palabok & still waiting for the bulalo for my husband. I had to ask because no one came back to our table & it's been AN HOUR ALREADY. They did not tell why it has a delay for it to be served & I think it was forgotten. We waited for another 10mins & it finally arrived! I asked how long it takes to prepare & was told 25 mins usually. It is not worth the wait. Go to AIZA for bulalo & CUISINE DE MANILLE for palabok, it's way better.
The bulalo was SALTY more salt & fish sauce added. The waitresses should get a better training for a serious customer service. The restaurant is nice though.
Go see for yourself!

Brought my aunt from the UK & relatives.
Great food though service needs improvement.
Long wait for food.
Plates could be placed upon arrival.
Appetizer should have been brought before main dishes or could have asked otherwise.
Servers were not as present when needed.

Food was good. Another time we took some family visiting for lunch but unfortunately they don't allow service dogs & we couldn't sit.

A little too long for the waiting but come eating time every feeling just gonna be disappearing. So, come early because they seem to cook everything from scratch which can take long but is pretty good considering it's fresh.

Unfortunately we do not recommend this restaurant. We called 45 minutes earlier to order for a pick up. We were craving for bbq pork so order it with other plates. Once home, the bbq sticks were not there worth for minimum 40$. Lost the money. Food was overall lacking taste. If you want pinoy food, I recommend restaurants located in Plamondon area.

The halo halo is plain. It's like ice cream with toppings. Other Resto put leche flan, tasty ube & classic Filipino halo halo main ingredients with aromatic halo halo flavour.
