A favourite spot that we always visit when we go to Montreal. The food is always creative & succulent . The lobster pasta is a little overhyped but go for the specials & you can never go wrong with the steak, duck or escargots. Service was super friendly & seamless.
WOW I loved Joe Beef so much we had an amazing experience with our server Alex who was so knowledgeable about everything & SO kind to us as we were celebrating our anniversary.
The hanger steak for two was literally the perfect amount of food, the sauces accompanying the meat were to die for, mashed potatoes perfect, I really enjoyed the creamed spinach as well.
The chocolate mousse was to die for, it was a slightly firm mousse dome with I think a chocolate ganache drizzle on top & they served it with this delicious reduction that was garnished with a tiny bit of olive oil & wow - just amazing.

My wife & I recently had the pleasure of dining here &, having lived in Montreal for a few years now, only wish we made our way over much, much sooner.
The food, the wine list, & the service were exceptional, the atmosphere loose & friendly. Their storied reputation is well deserved. &, the prices are more than reasonable given the quality, sourcing & overall attention to detail.
A special thank you & note to Flo, who made the evening fun & so enjoyable.
As soon as I knew I would be visiting Montreal, i grabbed a spot on the wait list in case a reservation opened up. I was so happy when the day before our trip, a spot opened up. We really enjoyed the tuna appetizer. We also had the Escargot which were good, but not as good as some I have had. For entrees we tried the Lobster Spaghetti which is a dish they are known for, & the Hanger steak. The Hanger Steak was cooked perfectly, tender & the sauce was excellent. I am from a Seafood town & felt the lobster was only okay & the Spaghetti itself very basic, not our favorite dish. All in all it is definitley worth a try.
we had an absolute pleasure to be Joe Beef guests & get the best service possible from Gab & Axinia. Food was super good as well, the atmosphere in the restaurant was immaculate. 12/10

My number one recommendation for Joe Beef is to come hungry!!! They don't skimp on the portion sizes & you will want to try as much as you can! We enjoyed the escargot, croquettes, foie gras, hanger steak, cod, & market vegetables. It was the perfect end to a great trip. Can't wait to come back!

This was the one restaurant I really wanted to go to with my wife & honestly it was great. We got seated on the heated patio away from the noisy interior. We ordered escargot, fois gras, lobster spaghetti, & the on special rabbit. All the food was excellent with special kudos to the fois gras & spaghetti. Service was warm & attentive. Just be sure that you go in with realistic expectations on price. We had 3 cocktails on top & our bill was $300+, which we were completely knew about before booking. If you want a special night out, go for it.
Incredible dining experience- an absolute must! Very attentive staff , everything timed perfectly.
The food is thoughtfully prepared & served. The spaghetti with lobster is not to be missed. The croquettes were good but not memorable. The peas with goat cheese & mint delightful the bone marrow flan is incredible. The poultry boulebaisse was a hit but very marjoram heavy. It was truly a dining event!
My partner & I were so excited for our reservation, but unfortunately we thought a lot of most dishes we had were average in comparison to the ones we had at its sister restaurant Liverpool House which really set our expectations high for what to expect here.
Perhaps the best meal I have ever had. Our server Julian was excellent, extremely friendly & outgoing, a shining example of excellent customer service. Highly, highly recommend going here if you're in Montreal & looking for a great meal.
