It's been 8 years since I've eaten here last. I was very excited to be back, but was pretty disappointed when we left.

Food was fine, although our steak had tons of connective trimmings that made it a bit difficult to eat.

Service was awful. Very pushy. When asked for recommendations the server was very aggressive about recommending based on highest price tag. He was not happy when we ordered a $50 bottle of wine & made service feel a bit awkward because of that.

We were missing food from our order. Received the wrong foie gras that contained allergens we were transparent about having & needing to avoid.

I think if you are going to be aggressive with upselling customers you need to at least provide the quality of service that deserves that price tag, & the subsequent tip this server was so desperate for.

I would consider somewhere else, this place has lost its way.

One of the best meals I had in Montreal. Fantastic service, great drinks & food. The lobster spaghetti is rich & decadent, the croquettes were stuffed with Montreal smoked meat & were delicious.The oysters were fresh & tasty & the steak tartare was particularly flavourful. My wife ordered the duck which was accented with the perfect sauce. We ended with two desserts to share with the table. It was quite busy & I would highly recommend making a reservation in advance but well worth it.

Notre deuxième visite au Joe Beef. Le service est toujours super. Côté nourriture c'est un choix sûr!
Je recommande vivement le spaghetti au homard, absolument divin !

A Montreal INSTITUTION! Absolutely phenomenal. Top tier service - attentive, professional, & personable. The food is divine, especially their iconic lobster spaghetti - & I'm not even a big lobster guy.

De las peores experiencias gastronómicas de Canadá. Una decepción. La carne 🥩 dura y parecía estar en mal estado. No quisieron cambiar el plato. Y además súper caro para lo que ofrecen !! Pésimo servicio. La higiene terrible. No recomendable

All around great experience. Superb food & service in a very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. We were celebrating our daughter's graduation & our experience at Joe Beef enhanced this special occasion.

AMAZING service, the best service you could ask for. So sweet & kind. The atmosphere wow, my favourite restaurant that I went to while in Montreal, & the food WOW! Oysters were to die for & the Lobster Spaghetti wow. Wish I could take the chef home. The whole experience was just amazing, a big thank you to the host/server/chef, everyone.

Overall the food & service was good
The only reason why i gave 3 stars because when i reserve a table it mention bar or table so i do reserve for a table.
When i arrive they set me to the bar & then i need to ask the waiter to change for a table.
The manager told me all the table are take & i mention to him i reserve to be sitted for a table not at the bar.
Then he gave me an option stay at the bar or go on the terasse(20th may night time was very cold outside) i told him no we have no jacket on & its cold.
I have to argue with them for getting a table after 20 minute.
All the appetizer was very good.
But the main dishes are very salty
I will go back for sure but i hope i wont get that experience again.
