We waited 20 ish minutes on a Saturday to get in since they don't take reservations. The wait went by super fast & was worth every minute. From the drink to the food, everything was a hit! The staff were polite & on top of it & the food was delicious. They even gave us a free juice shot which was so yummy! Only constructive criticism I could give is I wished my main dish was hotter in temperature since it was lukewarm. Would be going back & I would recommend it to everyone! The s'mores latte was incredible! I rarely finish my drinks but I did this time. You should try it at least once!

Update: went today again & the food was just as good as I remember. If you don't want to wait in a line, just go during the week at 10am & you'll be seated very easily ❤?
Excellent service, & great food. If you get the sharing platter, being 6+ people is a must, unless that's the only thing you're eating.
Also, get there about 20 minutes before opening if you want to make sure you get a good table & don't wait to wit longer than that outside. I wish they had heat lamps on the sidewalk for when you're waiting in the winter.

Wait time on a weekend wasn't too long & the staff was nice. I ate the Avocado Toast with Smoked Salmon & a chai tea. It was okay & simple, the tea however wasn't worth it at the price listed; a homemade version would be a lot nicer.

The mushroom toast was another level.
I understood why this place is so famous & so many people are on wait list with the first bite.

Welcome drink
Since the dining area is small so there must be a queue outside but it is worth. Beautiful decoration excellent service. They come with a welcome drink, lovely! 👍
🔹Le petit plateau ~ love their sauce but the scone is a bit hard
🔹Vanilla hot white chocolate ~ a bit too sweet
🔹Banana french toast ~ dish decorate is great
🔹Today Special goose ~ just so so
🔹Fried chicken sandwich ~ Taste good but not the outlook
🔹Mushroom toast with a scotch egg ~ the toast is too hard, mushroom taste great. Scotch egg is an art.

Fantastic place! Janique was also super attentive & friendly!
We had :
Chic croissant - I have never had pulled ham & it was sooooo tasty & soft - everything was fresh with exquisite flavors!
Gros jambon - the texture of the ham was smooth & buttery
Ouef & bouef - the sauce was fantastic & caramelized onions were delicious
Latte was also on point 😍
Loved the experience!

Spectacular place for brunch! Janine offers ample seating (although it gets busy rather quickly). Service is very fast & friendly. Food tastes absolutely amazing - & we had different meals, such as the oeuf & boeuf, the gruau (oatmeal), the champi (raclette cheese toast with sautéed mushrooms). The capuccino & the matcha latte were delicious too.

The'latkes' were excellent - perfectly crispy on the outside, & as you keep eating, the subtle sweetness of the yellow beets comes through beautifully with the potatoes. The toppings were very well balanced: crunchy pickled onions, a softly cooked egg, & a small slice of tender smoked salmon. Great texture, lots of layers, & very satisfying without feeling heavy.
L'Oeuf Écossais was beautifully done. The soft-boiled egg was cooked perfectly, with a rich, creamy yolk. The outer layer was crispy but not greasy, with a very satisfying, substantial bite. Great contrast of textures & a simple dish executed really well.

We went for brunch with friends since my partner found out that Janine & Régine have the same menu.
The food quality is consistent between the 2 places, & we were all happy with what we ordered. The was a bit of a wait, but as crazy as Régine Café on Beaubien. We did not have to line up since our friends got there before us & they got a table.
The service is excellent even though the restaurant was full. The food tasted great with an on point temperature. I totally enjoyed my grilled cheese with the scotch egg - a must try house specialty!
We will definitely go back as there are many items we would like to try.

I've always wanted to try Janine Café because everyone raves about it, & now I understand why. The food is really good, the portions are huge, & the staff is incredibly friendly. The café itself is so pretty & cozy. I'd definitely come back to try other plates! Ps go either super early or after 1:30 to avoid the long line.

Wonderful cosy breakfast/ brunch spot in Verdun
This was our second visit & they did not disappoint.
Service was excellent
Staff very courteous
Plates are quite appealing
Served hot & timely.
The Scotch Egg 🍳 (soft boiled wrapped in chorizo & panco (Delicious)
French toast is scrumptious.
Very popular spot, no reservations on Saturday or Sunday. Line up starts around 11:00 AM.
