Nous avons mangé la entres amis y'a deux jours & la nourriture était vraiment bonne, & les drinks aussi 🍹on a pris ses shot & le serveur Hanad était vraiment dynamique ça a rendu l'expérience plus fun! Je recommande pour date ou groupe d'amis!
It was my second visit to this establishment, & I usually enjoy sitting at the bar.
However, this time the service was disappointing. While my drink was well prepared, it did took a long time to arrive.
During the wait, we observed the bartender allowing two other customers at the bar to taste the drink ( that my friend order ) using a straw, & he initially intended to serve that same drink to him. I worked as a bartender for many years & was genuinely surprised by what I witnessed, as this is not acceptable practice.
We visited Iru Izakaya on Sunday for a family dinner & opted for the tasting menu along with several of their specialty cocktails. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience with a lot of strengths.
The tasting menu offered a wide variety of dishes, beautifully presented & packed with flavour. Many of the plates leaned toward fried preparations - everything was absolutely delicious on the palate, though a few courses did leave my stomach feeling a little heavy by the end of the evening. That said, the creativity & boldness of flavours were undeniable.
The cocktails were exceptional - easily one of the highlights of the night. Thoughtfully crafted, balanced, & memorable.
One detail I truly appreciated was the bilingual service. Our server seamlessly switched between English & French depending on who they were speaking to. As someone who is English-only dining with family members who are exclusively French (including our older mother), that level of attentiveness & inclusion meant a lot.
The only drawback was timing toward the end of the evening. The staff appeared quite busy, & although we would have happily ordered another round of drinks, we ultimately left earlier than planned.
That said, this place absolutely has the makings of a great establishment. With its vibrant atmosphere, strong cocktail program, & inclusive service, we would certainly consider returning.
Great experience overall. Staff are very kind & the food is great. We were there until they closed & had a really nice conversation with one of their cooks. The servers were also very friendly, they offered us a drink at the end of the night. Will be going back & will certainly recommend
We got two mocktails, Hiyayakko (tofu), Kani korroke, & Kushiyaki Gyutan. The tofu was my favorite super refreshing & light, the beef tongue could've been more tender, but the flavor really stood out! The crab korroke had a tasty filling, but maybe i got an unlucky batch cause the breading was incredibly too salty, I couldn't eat it 🥲
The servers were all super friendly! Laurence was really enthusiastic & fun to chat with at the bar. She had a mocktail I had gotten that wasn't to my liking remade & the servers made sure it was something I enjoyed, it was really appreciated ☺? I'd goback to give other food & drinks a shot

Super beau restaurant. Belle ambiance & belle déco! J'étais assis au bar ; c'était agréable de voir les employé.es préparer les drinks & le contact avec les serveurs étaient simple.
J'adore les brasseries japonaises inspirées de la tradition « izakaya », mais j'ai malheureusement été déçue par celle-ci.
Les portions sont très généreuses & les prix raisonnables, mais les goûts pas toujours au rendez-vous. Sur 5 plats, je peux dire que j'en ai vraiment aimé 2. Je ne suis pas difficile, mais le riz frit au canard était très décevant. Le goût ne représentait pas bien les saveurs japonaises selon moi & le canard était tellement en minuscules morceaux que même en le cherchant, je n'arrivais pas à le trouver. Le serveur a amené un extra ce qui était une belle attention.
Les goûts étaient donc, selon moi, pas super relevés, pas impressionnants ; je suis épicurienne & je ne disais pas « wow » à chaque bouchée comme il m'est déjà arrivé à d'autres restaurants de ce style.
Les cocktails étaient super bons.
Belle expérience en général, mais pas pour les goûts.
Had an amazing experience at Iru. We chose the $70 special menu & were impressed by how many different seafood dishes we got to try. Everything was tasty & we left with a full belly. Our server also happened to be the creator of the cocktails, so the drink recommendations were spot-on & what we like. Highly recommend!
Everything deserves five stars & more. Food, drinks, ambiance, service, but most of all the staff. They deserve to be know by their name. Didn't expect to feel such welcomed by amazing humans who love what they do, & what they put in my mouth.
Vraiment déçu de mon expérience dans ce restaurant. Nous avons été attiré par le décor du restaurant mais finalement ça n'en valait vraiment pas la chandelle. Les plats sont arrivés tièdes, tous était normal, ce n'était pas mauvais mais ce n'était pas exceptionnel non plus. Les portions sont petites pour le prix. Les morceaux de viandes n'était pas bien coupé ( aucune uniformité) & ce n'était pas de la haute qualité. Les drinks étaient mauvais & pas froid?! Le service était lent, pas aux petits soins, on as souvent attendu longtemps pour pouvoir commander des nouveaux drinks, de l'eau ou pour avoir des napkins. Bref, bel endroit mais trop dispendieux pour la qualité du menu, aucune originalité non plus dans les plats.
The wait was a bit long but totally worth it! The waitress we had was so nice & enthusiastic, her energy was incredible. We ordered an experience, for 50$ & it was incredible. So much food for all of us & it was amazing. The drinks are delicious aswell!

We went there on a Wednesday night so we didn't need a reservation but for the weekend I would recommend one.
The service was top-notch from the start to the end. In addition, the place is well decorated & has a nice atmosphere.
Regarding the food & drinks, we had mixed feelings; some were hits (like the dessert 5/5 & appetizers) but the main courses & cocktails were pretty average.
We haven't tasted everything so we still want to go back & overall we had a great time.
J'ai récemment découvert ce restaurant & je suis tombée sous le charme. Je dois mentionner que les plats sont délicieux, le menu est créatif & l'équipe est accueillante. Il y en a pour tous les goûts. De façon générale, le personnel est attentif à nos besoins culinaires & très disponible. Le décor raffiné & élégant nous rappelle les vacances. Ma serveuse Ève, de part son sourire radieux, m'a donner un service impéccable du début à la fin. Le personnel professionnel apporte une ambiance conviviale afin de rendre notre repas mémorable. Même le mixologue à qui j'ai eu la chance de parler est tellement passionné qu'on le ressent lorsque l'on déguste un drink digne de ses créations. J'en profite pour souligner le concept original des salles de toilettes...c'est à voir!!! C'est officiellement un endroit parfait pour un dîner en amoureux, un repas entre amis ou même une occasion spéciale. Je reviendrai sans hésiter !
Je suis venue célébrer ma fête avec mes amies & j'ai adoré l'expérience! La nourriture est tout simplement incroyable : de grande qualité, savoureuse & à prix abordable. Les drinks & mocktails sont délicieux, originaux & bien pensés. L'ambiance & la décoration sont vraiment géniales & originales.
Nous avons été servies par Ève L., qui a été d'une gentillesse exceptionnelle : attentive, sociale & offrant un service impeccable. Lors de ma première visite, il y a quelques semaines pour un lunch, j'avais également été impressionnée par la qualité du service, même si je n'ai malheureusement pas retenu le nom de notre serveuse.
Je recommande ce restaurant à 100 % pour tout ce qu'il a à offrir. Merci à toute l'équipe! :)
All of the cocktails were fun unique flavours that were an experience in & of themselves. The food was amazing, the complexity of flavours was astounding.
The vibe was fantastic. Our server Loic S was amazing, swift & able to walk us through anything we needed. The service staff also work to support eachother very well.
For drinks I recommend the tokkotai & midori fizz.
For food, I recommend the sayaingen, shio tomato sarada.
Had high expectations for this new Japanese restaurant in the heart of downtown MTL & it didn't disappoint one bit. The chicken karaage gochujang was my favorite - perfect blend of sweet & spicy. The ebi mayo shrimps with the ponzu sauce was so flavorful as well. Drinks are so tasty & the vibe & deco of this place is on point. Will return 100%. Customer service was also perfection, even if the place was full on a Friday night. Highly recommend 🤗
