Amazing place to begin our four day food odyssey of Montreal. Got a seat at the bar, just as we like it, & Cedric, bartender extraordinaire, made it a both fun & insightful evening. We picked the tasting menu & the accompanying wine menu. Oyster mushroom w whipped feta; lobster with zucchini & coconut milk; guinea fowl & dumplings with liver of the fowl to name just a few of the six sharing servings. Great food. Great service. Neighborhood feel. Restaurant Hélicoptère in Hochelaga, just 25 min in car from downtown Montreal.
Qualité de nourriture au rendez-vous, mais attention si vous optez pour le « menu dégustation », votre expérience sera malheureusement gâchée par un menu entièrement de plats à partager. (!!!!) Diviser vos portions (incluant les quelques condiments du plats...!) déplacer votre nourriture, en échapper, plats refroidis conséquemment, manger tout votre repas dans de petites soucoupes à café etc. Une belle présentation d'un plat d'un menu dégustation a l'air de quoi, une fois transféré avec une cuillère à soupe dans une assiette à café? Rien de très joli. & si partager avec un collègue ou quelqu'un de moins intime ne vous tente pas trop? Vous vous cognerez tout de même les cuillères jusqu'à votre ganache au dessert!

Wow. We are from Vancouver & we are definitely "foodies", & there's not a chance that we will ever return to Montreal without a booking here. Every dish, cocktail & dessert was absolutely perfect. We SO appreciate all the extra touches you made for us too. Although this is certainly an adult-oriented restaurant, my 8 year old son declared this he best restaurant he has very gone to & the best halibut he has ever had, & considering that he is from the west coast of Canada, this is a big deal! Merci!!!
Amazing night at hélicoptère! Our server was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, & nice. The food was outstanding. We opted not to go for the tasting menu as there some things a la carte that we were more interested in & we were glad we did. Out of the 6 dishes we ordered (for two) there's only one I wouldn't reorder & simply out of preference. The menu is seasonal so recommendations will not last the rest of time however their oyster/pleurotte dish is a mainstay & is absolutely worth it. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of the meal, & we felt it was definitely worth the price! When you visit don't hesitate to ask your waiter questions they are super knowledgeable & super go out of their way to make your evening enjoyable
We found this gem on Eater & several other food sites & it was well worth the trek across town. The only reason I gave a 4 for atmosphere was that despite an empty restaurant they shoved us in a corner of the bar for our meal ( which proved to be a trend in Montreal not sure if it because we were American or didn't speak French) it would have made for a lousy experience if it weren't for Cedric the bartender who mixed us up a fabulous cocktail & entertained us throughout the evening. The meal itself was fantastic. A really wonderful blend of seasonal flavors that it would be hard to say which dish was better than another- we loved them all! The chef is very talented!! We highly recommended this spot & wish them the greatest success!
Découvrir de nouvelles saveurs, c'est ce que nous offre l'Hélicoptère. Les cosses de pois finement ciselés macérés dans le jus de citron, la laitue brûlés avec bleuets & sa sauce ainsi que le saucisson d'agneau étaient des mariages bien exécutés. Bravo !

Helicopter soars on inventive dishes hovering over the freshest seasonal ingredients & local artisans. The 9 course tasting menu is the best way to sample the prowess of the kitchen, although there could be some misses (ie charred rapini was overly bitter) in the bunch. But most shine, notably their signature roasted mushrooms with buttery croutons on a house smoked feta smear. & while the bread might seem like a side-show, it deserves a spotlight coming from the sourdough masters at sister bakery Aube.
World class tasting menu. I'm not easily blown away but Hélicoptère continues to impress on every visit. Dishes that are delicious but also reflect great ideas with playful but excellent service

I had a wonderful dining experience at Helicoptere. The food was delicious, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service & professionalism of the staff. From the moment we sat down, the team took the time to explain each dish in detail, helping us make the best choices based on our preferences. Their knowledge & passion for the menu made the meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was lovely, & the overall experience was fantastic. I'm giving it 4 stars because while the food was great, it was the impeccable service that truly made the evening special. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who appreciates attentive & knowledgeable staff!
Après deux ans & demi à Montréal, Hélicoptère est pour moi la place où j'ai eu ma meilleure expérience dans un restaurant. La cuisine était extrêmement qualitative, les produits sont locaux, le service est très bon, l'ambiance chaleureuse. Recommande 100%, un 5 services à 75$ aussi gustatif ne courre pas les rues à Montréal ou bien même dans la région. La seule place où j'étais content de mettre un tips à 18% sur une note à 200$.
Coup de coeur de l'année. Probablement l'accord mets & vin le plus accessible avec le meilleur rapport qualité-prix. Le service est incroyable. Tous les employés étaient sympathiques. On voyait vraiment que c'était une belle équipe. Ils ont adapté le menu dégustation pour ma femme qui est enceinte & ils ont mis autant d'amour dans ses plats. Les plats étaient tout simplement WOW. J'ai savouré chaque plat. Bref, c'est un resto à aller absolument.
