This was my first time eating at a fine dining place, so I write this not as a food critic but just as a woman who had a good time. We got the five course tasting menu, & it provided such a fun rhythm to the evening. Every time a new dish was set before us, our conversation would suddenly halt as we ate; as the food started to thin on the plate, we'd break the silence to marvel at how good it was. Everything was inventive & interesting, so there was a lot to discuss--creative flavor combinations, intentional portions, perfect textures. It was really a delight to be able to treat a meal like an art piece or a movie. I didn't take any pictures, but my favorite dish was the pea & goat cheese ravioli. Somehow, eating this hearty cheese filled pasta also felt like eating a pea pod fresh from the garden. How cool is that!!!!!
Our waiter, Vincent, shared with us a bit of the story behind the restaurant at our arrival. A way to start our meal with a tale before adventuring ourselves with the local flavors of the moment.
We went for a sharing plate strategy to able to taste as many dishes as possible. The dessert, the Strawberry, was a big favorite that a had this perfect taste of summer.
The best meal I had in Montreal. I love how much they focus on fresh, local ingredients. Everything tasted incredibly fresh & full of flavors. The tasting menu was delicious from start to finish & an excellent value. The service was warm & attentive. I'd definitely go back!
5th time for us, tonight celebrating 14 years of fun, humanity & pure trusthwortiness; sadly, our evening was not up to the expectations we had over the first four feasts we enjoyed over the Helicopter.
The opener felt lacking substance & grit compared to the previous experiences, the entres were somewhat delightful but yet shy on elegance, flavorsomness & depth, the duck shared its load of tyrany & dessert did not rank the designation.
We will rest for some time before we engage again; great mission over local harvesters & farms, great creativity when it comes to differentiate from common offering, & tightness on rituals; but not tonight.
Keep it up team & see you at later times.
Food is overrated. Cute plates but lack of Flavor.
18% tip minimum in this type of restaurant is an insult to the clients. With 15%, servers would still make way more than 80% of the working class in the city... Reality check please.
Overall, I can eat better & cheaper in a lot of different places in the city.
Great dining experience! We went for lunch & ordered à la carte. Be prepared to order more plates than you'd think. The dishes are small but full of flavor. We ordered the challah bread, the sourdough, the oyster mushrooms, & the beef tartare (first photo). In the second photo, we had the scallops & the guinea fowl. I would happily reorder everything. Next time, I'd get the tasting menu because I now know all the items on the menu are reliably excellent.
We came up from Ottawa to Montreal to celebrate our 2-year anniversary, & after seeing so many great recommendations, we decided to try this restaurant. It was truly an unforgettable experience! Even though we're not drinking alcohol right now, we still love fun, creative drinks. The bartender went above & beyond, crafting a special drink that paired perfectly with one of our dishes. Every member of the staff was incredibly friendly & brought so much fun energy to the night-it made the whole experience even more memorable. At the end of our meal, they surprised us with some mocktail shots, & we all shared a toast together! The food was out of this world-each dish was bursting with flavor. We couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate. Highly recommend!
We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing at the bar. The bartender was absolutely amazing. I wish I got his name to give him a shout out. The tasting menu was excellent. I liked that some of the dishes are for each person, & some come out like a little platter to share. The guinea fowl was so good! I loved the piklis on the tartare. Unique touch. Everything had bold flavors, & they care about using the whole animal or vegetable. Also you can't go wrong when there are tiny dinosaurs to play with lol
We found this gem on Eater & several other food sites & it was well worth the trek across town. The only reason I gave a 4 for atmosphere was that despite an empty restaurant they shoved us in a corner of the bar for our meal ( which proved to be a trend in Montreal not sure if it because we were American or didn't speak French) it would have made for a lousy experience if it weren't for Cedric the bartender who mixed us up a fabulous cocktail & entertained us throughout the evening. The meal itself was fantastic. A really wonderful blend of seasonal flavors that it would be hard to say which dish was better than another- we loved them all! The chef is very talented!! We highly recommended this spot & wish them the greatest success!
Cool little neighborhood cafe for locals. Far from touristy places & hotels. Mediterranean flavors. High quality, gourmet dishes. Excellent staff & service . Recommend.
