I was sat at the bar & was taken care of by Vincent. He was so sweet. Actually the entire team was great. Every dish, every glass of wine was carefully explained to me. They made sure to consider any allergies I had. The food was also great. This was a lovely experience.
Dinner here was a great experience. This was my first time eating at a fine dining place, so I write this not as a food critic but just as a woman who had a good time. We got the five course tasting menu, & it provided such a fun rhythm to the evening. Every time a new dish was set before us, our conversation would suddenly halt as we ate; as the food started to thin on the plate, we'd break the silence to marvel at how good it was. Everything was inventive & interesting, so there was a lot to discuss--creative flavor combinations, intentional portions, perfect textures. It was really a delight to be able to treat a meal like an art piece or a movie. I didn't take any pictures, but my favorite dish was the pea & goat cheese ravioli. Somehow, eating this hearty cheese filled pasta also felt like eating a pea pod fresh from the garden. How cool is that!!!!!
The best meal I had in Montreal. I love how much they focus on fresh, local ingredients. Everything tasted incredibly fresh & full of flavors. The tasting menu was delicious from start to finish & an excellent value. The service was warm & attentive. I'd definitely go back!
Where do I even begin to describe the incredible experience we had at Restaurant Hélicoptère recently? From start to finish every single person at the restaurant was kind, engaging, knowledgable about food & wine, & just delivered 15/10 service.
We had a group with a few dietary restrictions that we commented well in advance & the team both back of house & front of house delivered quality, innovative, & incredible delicious food.
I had the vegetarian tasting menu with a wine pairing & enjoyed the seasonal & fresh ingredients.
The cost for quality, portion size, & wine was very fair.
Thanks to everyone for making my friend's 40th birthday dinner so special.
Great tasting menu experience, & Vincent behind the bar was fantastic! I normally don't like scallops or tomatoes, but they were prepared very well & I actually enjoyed them. The wine pairings were great - some very unique wines, especially the one paired with the gnocchi. The timing of the first two courses was a little slow to the point I had almost finished my glass of wine before the scallops came, but after the first couple of courses the pace was much more reasonable & I ended up really enjoying it! I really appreciated the descriptions of everything, & all the tiny details & unique flavours. I would definitely come back, especially to try all the seasonal changes to the menu!
I have been here twice which two different menus & I literally leave so full & so impressed with the knowledge of the servers, the art of the food & the overall atmosphere. Wine pairings are superb. Their tasting menu is very well thought out. I cannot recommend this place enough
This place is perfection. Do the tasting menu & the wine pairing - spring for the dessert wine. Vincent was incredibly knowledgeable but approachable & made the night. Will be back!
The food here is incredible. Whether you go with the well-priced tasting menu or choose your own combination of à la carte options, you can't go wrong - the food is fresh & local, the dishes are creative, overall the meal is well worth the price. Combined with the quaint but lively atmosphere, this place is sure to please.
That said, it's the service that makes this place really shine. We were fortunate enough to have Cedric as both our server & bartender, & it was easily the best service we had during our stay in Montreal. He really made the meal that much more special.
In short, if you're even thinking about going to Helicoptre, just do it. You won't regret it.
Beautiful food, great wine & lovely hospitality we went for the tasting menu which was an excellent choice, & a few too many cocktails in the next door speakeasy.
A little loud, food was all cold/room temp at best for some reason? Portions were small for the price & lacking in seasoning. Maybe the tasting menu would have been better? Who knows.
