Grinder restaurant is located on Notre-Dame street, in the heart of Griffintown. Indeed, this neighborhood located in the southwest of Montreal is dynamic and promising; residential and commercial projects are already underway.
The original decor screams Zébulon Perron (Furco, Buvette à Simone, Philémon). He created a comfortable and warm restaurant, kitchen and raw bar. Grinder characterizes itself by vintage and modern elements such as glass and metal.
On the menu, raw & cooked items: tartares, tatakis, ceviches, carpaccios, etc. Also on the menu, steaks and grilled or braised pieces of meats, all to be shared. Grinder also offers a variety of fish and seafood, served cooked or raw as well. More than a simple steakhouse, all food lovers will find something to their liking among their selection of fresh products.
A 100% of their wine list consists of privately imported wines, always changing with the seasons, and of course focusing on wines produced while respecting nature.

Celebrated my 40th with 15 friends. At first the waiter seemed aggressively nice, which was off putting...but he softened up & became much more enjoyable. Had the salmon tartare, & the beef bavette. I understand the need for higher price sin trendy restaurants, but the price points were quite dramatic, although the food was quite good. The sweet potato fries were great. Hot summer night, so opting for open windows on the terrace over AC was a bit unfortunate. Would not make a point of going back, but would not say no if invited with friends.
I love the Grinder experience. The food is great along with the presentation. The staff is super friendly & very customer service oriented.. they have free valet parking, which makes your life much easier. If you're thinking about trying this, I highly recommend that you do because you'll love it. Not a vegetarian kind of place. It can get very expensive if you decide to have drinks.

Bonne nourriture. C'est la deuxieme fois que je mange au resto Grinder. La qualité de la viande est toujours au top & le service est impeccable. Les serveurs & busboys sont sympathiques & offre un service rapide. Attendez-vous à une petite surprise offerte si vous venez pour un anniversaire. Je recommande!
Service un gros zéro . Nous étions assis au bar , la barmaid avait un air d'enterrement, nous fait sentir pas les bienvenus, nous avons rarement été mal traité de cette façons dans un restaurant. Clairement travailler avec le public n'est pas sa place . L'hôtesse très gentille par exemple , souriante, accueillante & que dire de la bouffe Waw excellent 👌 !
I've had dinner at Grinder a few times & I really enjoy the food here. My only issue is how loud the music/atmosphere is. It's really bad. I can barely hear myself think nor have a conversation. Im sure many would agree seeing that other diners are usually speaking really loud amongst themselves to try & talk over the loud music...making it even worse. Wouldn't call this restaurant intimate.
Wow wow wow wow wow ! Parfait de l'acceuil a l'entree jusqu'a la fin ! Ambiance agreable, il faut crier un peu pour s'entendre parler, mais ca va. Aliments frais, gout excellent. La cuisson du steak est A1 ! Ca c'est un vrai steakhouse comme on les aime ! Definitivement a revisiter !
By far one of the best filet mignons I've ever had. The staff are all great & very friendly there. If you get there before 6-7 it's more quiet but after 7 it does get quite busy & quite loud on the weekends. Honestly if you're looking for a place that can cook up some solid steak this is your spot. I highly recommend the side creamy/cheesy mash potatoes. Wow!

Le bruit est vraiment désagréable. Excellent entrée (carpaccio). Eye rib sans saveur. Impossible de profiter de sa soirée avec la musique à fond & le monde qui crie.
It's not always easy to know where to take people when you have a group from work that need to meet & catch up from all over the world, but I'm very happy with the choice of going to Grinder. Amazing meat & awesome atmosphere that was not too loud for conversations.
Grinder's steaks are always great. Just like once you watch high-definition TV, you can never go back to the DVD era. Once you enjoy the taste experience of a real good steak, you can never go back to the VCD era. This is only a good steakhouse can bring a high-quality experience to foodies. Grinder's Tomahawk Steak is full of flavor, 40oz is quite satisfying, & comes with four classic sauces. The set price of the Tomahawk Steak already includes two side dishes of your choice. Happiness lies in this moment! & I really like its atmosphere. There is a DJ playing good songs for a great vibe. C'est de loin le meilleur service que j'ai eu dans un restaurant depuis DES ANNÉES. Notre coupe de vin n'a jamais été vide, les plats étaient savoureux & le service rapide (nous avions un spectacle & devions quitter dans un certain délais). Tout le monde a adoré!

Tonight was my first time here & this is a homerun! My girlfriend is a meat lover & I'm more of a plant-based lifestyle, & we were both pleased ! The Vegan Meatballs is not only the best plant-based I've ever had in Montreal, but also top 3 meals in general ! Odd coming from a place that prides themselves in their Meat (& butchery beside it)! It is a must try! My GF enjoyed her beef skirt as well ! Service is impeccable & staff very friendly ! It's a semi pricey outing , but worth every dollar !
C'est la deuxième fois que je viens car la viande y est excellente & que le pudding chômeur vaut tous les déplacements mais le service est à revoir. Notre serveuse était géniale, mais la personne qui nous servait l'eau & nous débarrassait était oppressante. Elle coupait régulièrement nos conversations ou les moments où on pouvait se tenir la main en discutant, ce qui n'est pas très délicat. Puis elle est allée jusqu'à récupérer nos serviettes sur nos genoux après avoir débarrassé nos plats !! Outre le côté un peu déplacé de la démarche, nous n'avions pas fini notre repas ... pour le reste le resto est très bruyant (sauf si vous avez la chance d'être installé proche d'une fenêtre) & sombre. Les cocktails ne sont pas très bons & goûtent seulement l'alcool. C'est une expérience mitigée, je reviendrai en sachant ce que je viens chercher : de la bonne viande & un sugar rush après ce divin pudding chômeur.
Cuisine incroyable je recommande ! Nous y sommes allés un samedi soir c'était plutôt calme, le service était très bien. Nous avons adoré les entrées (crudo de thon & carpaccio de Wagyu), le thomahawk incroyable (j'ai moins aimé les haricots croquants & non equetés), largement suffisant pour 2 personnes, & le petit dessert offert pour l'anniversaire de mon conjoint. Nous reviendrons pour sûr ! Merci

They even offer a tasty vegan option, which was surprisingly delicious. & let's not forget about the drinks; they're fantastic too! The food portions are generous, & while the price range varies depending on your order, it typically falls between $25 to $100. Checking the menu online beforehand is a helpful tip. + nearby parking & valet service for added convenience
