Service was rushed inattentive & unorganized staff waiter made a mistake on the bill, jept telling about last call is soon when it was literally an hour halftime left he was anxiously awaiting to end his shift..the was other waiter that brought my main course meal was probably serving a table for the very first time didn't know how to place my cutlery along with the plate it was quite awkward & staring at me expecting me to help him out even though the table was cleared for him I never knew I had to take a plate off a waiters hands & place it in front of myself first time experiencing that moment & forgot to bring my friend her cutlery below average etiquette when it comes to class .
The food wasn't as appealing as it seemed on the menu the lamb was cold & minimal portions i mean they can increase their prices & actually add more value to the plate itself because the main courses all appeared empty in the plates & looked more as sides portion wise with only one serving of food & not much else the worse dumplings they should let it cool off ironically the lamb was cold but dumplings pasty doughy & still boiling from the inside almost burned the roof of my mouth. The only decent thing was the espresso martini & beautiful chinese aesthetic design & decor which i personally like.
Overprice for a tiny portion & music could be lower a bit I went there for the decor but really not worth it

Decided to have a try after I saw the decor on Maps.
- Parking available
- We went without reservation & we were seated.
- Staffs were welcoming.
- Place is super cosy & clean.
As for food, we had the Fried Calamari which was very good & with not so usual flavours but still very good. & this heighten our expectations for the main course.
The waiter suggested the Lobster noodles & the Chicken Curry so we went ahead with that. However, I was personally I bit disappointed after having such good Calamari. The meals weren't bad but they were OK. My curry (marked as spicy), was more sugary for example.
Presentation-wise they are good but I personally feels they lack depth/flavours in the meals we were served. Not so value for money...
In terms of price, they are above average making a total of 98$ for one starter, & two meals. (tips starting at 18%)

A cute place for brunch decor is nice & a great ambiance. My food was too sweet the maple syrup was too much
Belle découverte, on va reveni
Really great spot for drinks & food! Some dishes were sadly mid, others were delicious. Stand outs were the mapo tofu, bang bang cauliflower, & shrimp dumplings. The salmon tartare left much to be desired.
Overall I'd recommend this place. Beautiful decor & atmosphere. Very unique menu, & a broad drink menu.
Great tasty food & visually stunning. The restaurant is well decorated & the service was excellent! Give it a try for brunch or supper! 🥰
The brunch menu is bussin! Amazing food & cocktails! The service on a Saturday AM was a little slow… & although the decor is super cute, the vibe was quiet & mellow. I will definitely go back to check out their brunch events & try more items off of their delicious brunch menu!!
Gon Bui has a really cool atmosphere - the décor is modern & trendy, with that signature fortune tree adding a unique touch. It's definitely a place made for Instagram. The service was friendly, though a bit slow at times. The food looked great but portions were smaller than expected for the price, & while some dishes were flavorful, others felt underwhelming. Cocktails were creative but not all of them hit the mark. Music was fun but got too loud, making conversation hard. Overall, it's a decent spot for a night out with friends, but not quite worth the hype or the higher price tag.
The ambiance & decor is great. The service was slow & took time to get drinks & food. The staff was kind though. The portions were quite small & overpriced. The carrots weren't cooked in the lamb plate. Drinks were good however.
Très beau restaurant cozy !! Le décor est vraiment beau! Super bon brunch on a adoré! J'y retournerai!
Last Saturday night, my friend invited me out to Gon Bui in Laval for the first time-& wow, the vibes were on point. The space is gorgeous, with moody lighting, stylish decor, & a live DJ setting the perfect tone to slide into the weekend.
We came to check out their new summer menu & kicked things off with some bold starters:
• Fried calamari ($22) - Crispy, flavorful, & tossed with garlic, onions, & bell peppers. That sesame mayo dip? A total flavor booster.
• Scallops crudo ($24) - Light, bright, & beautifully plated. The coconut-coriander sauce with green apple made each bite feel like a tropical escape.
• Fried wings ($18) - Golden & crispy with a tangy tamarind-plum sauce on the side. On their own, I found them a bit under-seasoned-but that sauce definitely helped bring it together.
Then came the Coco Espresso Martini ($18)-& let me tell you, this was a moment. Made with Rhum Café Rosemont, vodka, crème de coco, & espresso, it was flambéed tableside with a crème brûlée-style topping. Bold, smooth, & a little dramatic in the best way.
For my main, I went with the soya salmon ($26)-cooked beautifully with a crispy top layer & served in a light veggie broth. The bok choy wasn't really for me, & the white rice leaned a bit too sticky/sushi-style for my taste. But the salmon itself? So good it made up for it.
Dessert time (yes, we got two-no regrets):
• Canto churros ($11) - A single soft & sweet Chinese doughnut paired with orange-blueberry jam & ube whipped cream. A fun little bite, but I wish there were more than one!
• Chai latte panna cotta ($13) - Delicate & creative, with layers of orange-chocolate cream & apricot confit. This one didn't quite hit the spot for me, but it was an interesting combo.
Gon Bui nailed the atmosphere & brought plenty of flavor. It's a solid pick for date night, girls' night, or anytime you want to treat yourself. I'd love to come back & try their brunch-curious to see what creative twists they bring to the morning menu.
We truly enjoyed trying this restaurant for the first time. Food was very good, drinks were good & the ambiance & decor were very different & very nice asian feel.
