Dans l'ensemble, Gokudo est perçu comme un bar à cocktails cosy avec une ambiance agréable et des boissons créatives, ce qui en fait un lieu prisé pour les sorties romantiques; le service est globalement chaleureux et efficace, les plats et amuse-bouches arrivent rapidement, mais des moments d'inattention et des files d'attente peuvent survenir lors des heures de pointe; la carte propose des cocktails innovants et une belle sélection de saké et de whisky japonais, certains éléments étant salués pour leur originalité tandis que l'offre nourriture peut être limitée et les prix élevés; l'ensemble de l'expérience est jugé intéressante et mérite d'y revenir, l'ambiance et la qualité des boissons restant souvent des points forts, malgré des changements de personnel et une politique de paiement sans espèces parfois signalée.
Gokudo is a wonderful place to hang out & relax on a couch with friends & a drink. Beautiful atmosphere with excellent service! It's best to go early though, say around 5pm or so, when it's less crowded, less noisy & much more comfortable for quiet discussion. I couldn't say that the cocktails are the best in town, & the food is good but nothing to rave about, but it's lots of fun, especially if you want to show friends from out of town a good time. Recently, I tried the Wagyu Shot, which was fine, but didn't blow my mind. I wish they were less westernized in taste, & had more of a Japanese hit of flavour, with a spice of wasabi.
Great place for those are looking to live the Japanese experience in downtown Montreal. For those who don't know, they have no reservations, so you have to wait for your turn to get in, the waiting ro6om is cool with Japanese decos, we've got served tea. I've enjoyed the cocktails, Gempei. I will definitely comeback to Gokudo.
Came with my bf to celebrate our anniversary! They sat us at the booth but we were extremely close to other people, so they moved us to the bar where we met Jordan. He's from Paris & there was a language barrier bc his English wasn't so good & our French was ..well Gr 9 French lol! Regardless he was so kind & made us really good cocktails, gave us free shots & made our night! He curated cocktails for us based on what we liked, so if you're up for the experience - definitely let him be creative :) we didn't get food bc we came from dinner so I can't really comment on that part!
There aren't very many dishes or specialty cocktails, but every one of them is worth ordering. The watermelon caviar was my favorite. The door that you walk in doesn't really look very welcoming but you should walk in anyway.

Belle ambiance feutrée où on peut s'entendre parler. Excellents cocktails originaux & très bien élaborés avec plusieurs ingrédients de qualité. Le poké au thon & truffe est excellent. Il y a aussi de la bière japonaise même si elle n'est pas dans le menu.
I love going to Gokudo. The cocktails are delicious & the staff is amazing. I love the cosy ambience & always have a good time. 10/10 would recommend!

Super cool cocktail bar! It has a japanese vibe with some japanese inspired snacks that we didn't try. We just had cocktails. But they were amazing!!! Sooo tasty, prepared with care, slightly surprising, good quantity, not stingy on the alcohol. 5 star service from the barman as well!
