Andrea, Fan, & Hinako are the best super friendly, talented, & always make you feel welcome. If you want great cocktails & great service, this place is a must-visit.
2025: the Abe no Seithei is perfect if you enjoy whiskey & caramel. Service was efficient. Be prepared for a lineup of you come at Prime times.
2024: the Gempei is still good. Service was a little lacking from our waiter who didn't check in on us even though we added someone. The waitress who wasn't assigned to us was very sweet & helpful though.
2023: the Bunshin was fantastic, the Gempei was really good, both well crafted. I enjoyed the unagi Maki as well. Pleasant efficient service. Wish they had a little more selection foodwise.
2018: Excellent service. Creative drinks. Nice decor. Definitely deserves its ranking among Canada's top bars.
The bar is awesome looking & has a cool concept, the drinks & food was really good, however the staff was so rude & unprofessional. Our waitor (I believe he is a french guy), did not even bother to come see us a second time to see if we wanted another drink or anything else, we had to flag him down, & even when we did he was extremely cold. Sad such staff work in hospitality.
Gokudo used to be my favourite cocktail bar, by far. However, some time a few years ago, the staff & management changed. The menu changed, with iconic & incredibly well-balanced cocktails being removed while less interesting drinks were added. Despite, from what I can tell, the addition of more staff, the service has become worse. Honestly, it's all a big disappointment that has me missing the old Gokudo & the old bar staff that worked there.
Really cozy vibe & the music is not too loud or overstimulating so you can actually have a conversation. Great service too, the server was always there right when we needed her! The food & drinks were tasty & came very quickly
Fun place! Drinks & food were good. The layout of the bar is a little odd, we were very close to the entrance & separate from the main area.
While the drinks & vibes of the restaurant & really cool. The service here was not good. Our servers were very slow & rude. We were a larger group & it felt like they didn't want us there.
we were super intrigued by the asian flair of the drink menu at gokudo & were excited to visit. we arrived around 7 pm on a friday & waited a short time for a seat. we were eventually seated in the front room, which was comfortable & relaxing. we tried the okame & yamakase (which may not be on the menu anymore). both drinks were yummy & had a great mix of flavors. the food menu also looked intriguing but since we had dinner just before, we didn't get a chance to try anything. prices are super reasonable compared to the bars in nyc. overall a fun place to visit!
Very nice spot for dates & more of a chill vibes. Jordan at the bar was amazing, knew his drinks & alcohol. He was able to make us discover new alcohol & remixed a drink according to our taste buds. Would recommend to sit at the bar & be served by him.
This bar is fantastic! I always have a great time here. The staff is not only friendly but also efficient & accommodating. The drinks are top-notch, & we even sampled the wagyu bite. While it was small, it was absolutely delicious-a great touch to offer such a luxurious option. The ambiance is both stylish & fun, creating the perfect setting for a night out. Definitely one of my fav spots in Montreal!
One of a hidden gem for drinks in the city. Went here with my buddies to have a good time. The server was very nice & friendly. I forgot to take a picture my drink, but here is a bottle that we ordered & liked.
Midnight cocktails in a Japanese bar. Sweet, fragrant drinks with great company. This is what I call adulting at its finest! 🍹🌸 😏 #LivingMyBestLife
I really enjoyed the experience I had at this bar. The service was polite & friendly, the interior decoration was remarkable & quite lovely, the drinks were fantastic & not too expensive. At least for the prices they charge, it was decent. My favourite thing about this bar is probably the fact that we had plenty of space at our table & around our table. It felt really spacious for once & we could really enjoy our drinks & talking to each other. The noise level was also just right, the music playing wasn't too loud or too quiet. The main downside however is probably that there is a longer wait time compared to a lot of other places. This comes back to the generous amount of space they give to each customer so there are less seats in consequence. But, I do feel like the wait time was worth it because I had an amazing time inside the bar.
Gokudo is a wonderful place to hang out & relax on a couch with friends & a drink. Beautiful atmosphere with excellent service! It's best to go early though, say around 5pm or so, when it's less crowded, less noisy & much more comfortable for quiet discussion. I couldn't say that the cocktails are the best in town, & the food is good but nothing to rave about, but it's lots of fun, especially if you want to show friends from out of town a good time. Recently, I tried the Wagyu Shot, which was fine, but didn't blow my mind. I wish they were less westernized in taste, & had more of a Japanese hit of flavour, with a spice of wasabi.
Really cute ambiance. Sometimes. Bit lo g to have someone in the middle of the night but super serviable & good drinks ans little entrees.
