We made a reservation in advance, but unfortunately, we weren't given a particularly nice table. It looked as though someone had just left, & the table was simply given to us as it was.
The hostess could also have been more welcoming & hospitable. There wasn't much of a greeting or a warm welcome, which affects the first impression.
As for the food, I was honestly surprised by the portion sizes - probably some of the smallest I've seen in Canada. The octopus was simple but good. The marinated olives were tasty, although I would prefer larger, whole olives, as the small cut olives don't look very presentable. The nuts had far too much coating & seasoning for my taste; I would have preferred to actually taste more of the nuts themselves.
The oysters were okay, but I've definitely had better. I also wish they had been cleaned & opened more carefully & presented in a cleaner way.
The biggest highlight is definitely the view - absolutely beautiful. That said, for this type of bar & its positioning, I would expect higher-quality tables & chairs to complement the setting.
The wines & cocktails were very good. A nice touch is that even if you don't see your favorite drink on the menu, you can ask the bartender, & they can make almost anything.
The live DJ performance on Saturday was great & continued until the end of the evening - thank you to the DJ for creating such a nice atmosphere.
Service throughout the evening was polite & quick.
The food at this bar is superb & probably better than at any bar you've been to before. Nothing we had would have been out of place at a Michelin-rated restaurant. All the dishes were exceptional: perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, & complex & subtle in the use of spices, herbs, & marinades. & the 0% mocktail was as good as any my partner has ever tasted.
On a tres bien mangé, la nourriture était excellente, mais le plus remarquable c'est le service & l'accueil du personnel précisément naomie l'hotesse était adorable elle nous a bien accueilli
Le Nacarat est ma place préféré à Montréal.

Par contre petit feetback sur le service de se soir nous Avons trouvé que c'était un peu lent. Il manquait un peu de suivi auprès de la serveuse , notamment pour vérifier si on souhaitait un autre drink ou quelque chose à manger. Je pense qu'un peu plus d'attention & d'anticipation aurait vraiment amélioré l'expérience de la part de la serveuse qui c'est occuper de nous … Mais pour le reste je vous recommande vraiment cette place magnifique ….
Beautiful views on the third floor. Limited drink selection. Service good but slow on busy night. Drinks mediocre for the price. Food tasty & fresh but small portions. Quite expensive but understandable considering the view & atmosphere. Night DJ loud & drab music selection. We really though it was connected to the indoor section but that lounge is on the lobby floor. Next time I will try there as I believe that's where you get the refined sophisticated drinks & classy high end ambiance.
What an absolute mess. Their main restaurant bar - the nice one - was closed with zero warning, so we got redirected to the'third floor' instead. Cool, except when we got there, there was a massive line just to get on the elevator to even reach it.
Once we were up there, the host desk was staffed by exactly one person who seemed to think walking parties to their tables was optional - took a solid 8 minutes just to get seated. They'll tell you they only run one bar because'guests prefer sitting outside when the weather's nice.' Sure, except it was blazing hot out. That's not a guest-experience decision, that's a budget cut dressed up as hospitality.
We finally got a table - a two-top, even though we needed seating for four. Then the server situation was its own disaster. Whoever was working our section moved like he had nowhere to be & nothing to prove. When he finally strolled over, instead of standing to take our order like a normal server, he leaned his entire body weight onto the arm of my chair - like standing up straight was too much effort. To top it off, he told us they actually did carry a tequila that the menu explicitly said they didn't. So either the menu's wrong or he just didn't feel like checking.
I have been here quite few times now, in the inside bar & rooftop & bar, I must say it's one of Montreal finest.

On every visit, Everything about the experience has been spot on.
We went again last Saturday & A big thank you to Arnaud, for the warm welcome, & to Nadia for the amazing service. They are always very friendly, attentive, & made us feel genuinely looked after.
The food was delicious, the cocktails were excellent, & the terrace is simply beautiful. The view over downtown Montreal is incredible, especially at sunset. It's one of those places where you can relax, enjoy great company, & take in the scenery of the Ring of Montreal.
I highly recommend Nacarat Bar Montreal. Whether it's for drinks, dinner, or a special night out with friends, you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be coming back!
