Gibeau Orange Julep est perçu comme un emblème de Montréal, avec sa gigantesque orange et une ambiance rétro qui donne l impression de remonter le temps; le jus d orange crémeux est l attraction principale, souvent loué comme unique et parfois comme le meilleur jus jamais goûté, mais plusieurs avis le trouvent trop sucré et parfois au prix fort. La nourriture accompagne le jus, avec des poutines et des hot dogs qui peuvent être excellents et généreux ou simplement corrects et trop chers pour la qualité; le rapport qualité prix est fréquemment pointé du doigt et certains considèrent que l aspect touristique prend le dessus sur l expérience culinaire. L endroit se veut accessible et familial, avec un grand stationnement et des espaces extérieurs, mais les places assises peuvent manquer et l ambiance varie selon le moment. En définitive c est une étape incontournable pour vivre une tranche de Montréal et son patrimoine, plus qu un repas gourmet, apprécié pour son cadre nostalgique et le charme de l orange Julep, tout en laissant certains visiteurs sur leur faim côté nourriture.
I haven't been here in probably over 20 years & I don't think I'll ever go back. Sure the place is iconic, you can see the giant orange as you fly into Montreal, & I believe it should stay there forever. But the fact that it's some greasy restaurant, that is not only overpriced, very overpriced, but the food is also quite bad & the service is as well. Do yourself a favor, pass by to check it out, if you really want to try their special orange juice, try it out but there are so many amazing places to eat in Montreal, I'm not sure why anyone would go here.
This gigantic orange orb is such a vibe. I wish there were more locations, they would do so well. Great chill spot, the property is so big - there's lots of space to enjoy your food & OJ with friends/family. Note, the famous orange julep is not like a sour orange juice, it's more like an orange creamsicle (highly addictive lol). Definitely a sweet treat with the amount of sugar in it, but oh well live a little & make sure you have some!
Orange Julep. If you were wondering if you went to the right spot just look for the massive orange sphere! Orange Julep gives you a classic old time feel to it. You know it's a classic when you pull up on a Saturday at 5:30 pm & there is a full parking lot with cars. The service was really good especially with our slight language barrier. I purchased the large Orange Julep which ran me just under $12 CAD. watching 10 gallons of this stuff get purchased before I got up to order seemed like a good sign... Unfortunately I didn't think it was very good. It tastes like below average orange juice mixed with some below average milk. It was fine enough to drink 3/4 of it so I wasn't just throwing $12 down the drain but I did struggle to throw it back. A friend of mine ordered an Orange Julep & requested ice cream to go in his, & I must say if you come here that is definitely the way to go. With ice cream you deliver a milkshake type drink with a refreshing orange essence to it. Lastly, another friend got Hot Dogs & Fries & the Hot Dogs looked very good & he claims tasted just as good so if you want some quick'snack bar' food this may be the place for you. Overall it was a fun experience & fun environment & I'm glad I went. Make sure you get ice cream in your Orange Julep!
Ambiance drôle & rétro, mais sérieusement, j'adore le jus d'orange, le vrai. Avec la pulpe & tout le tralala. Mais là, autant c'est une idée audacieuse de mettre du lait, de l'eau, du sucre... mais c'est tellement, tellement sucré & le jus n'a pas tant un goût si bon & frais que certaines oranges à jus ont... je ne sais pas si le problème vient du jus ou du mélange mais.... bof
Dropped by for a liter julep & it was delish!! Nums nums !! Friendly staff... Everybody smiling! They have a few picnic tables... They need a sit down space with a more atmosphere than just watching the cars go by hehehe. Love me some orange Julip

If a creamsicle melted & you drank it this would be what it tasted like!! The food was fine, nothing special but that's not what you're going there for anyways.
Pretty disappointing experience. Food is below par, cashiers are impatient & not welcoming. Most importantly the menu is as complex as rocket science if not more & not visible from outside very well, only when you are at the cash & pressurized to order you can view the menu. Wouldn't recommend.
We enjoyed the orange juice but strongly advise against drinking it if you're lactose intolerant or have milk allergies. Although not confirmed by the staff we suspect it contains milk.
Even though we visited in the rain, there was a long line but it went quickly. The servers were friendly & didn't rush when placing orders & the food was ready, hot & delivered quickly!
