Gibeau Orange Julep is such a fun & iconic spot in Montréal. The giant orange building is unique & their famous orange drink is definitely worth trying!
If you're visiting Montréal, you should also explore beautiful places like Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal & relax at Beaver Lake on Mount Royal.
Also nearby on Jean-Talon, I recommend Tastybits for delicious Indian-Italian style pizza. Great food & a nice stop after exploring the city!
Gibeau Orange Julep is an absolute must-visit spot in Montreal! The atmosphere is incredibly unique with that iconic giant orange structure-it feels like stepping back in time. Their signature Orange Julep drink is creamy, refreshing, & unlike anything else I've ever tasted. You also have to try the poutine; the fries are perfectly crispy & the gravy is rich & flavorful. It's the perfect place for classic comfort food & a fun retro vibe. I can't wait to go back!
An iconic Montreal stop!
Gibeau Orange Julep is a must-visit, & it absolutely lives up to its reputation. The orange drink is the star - perfectly sweet, creamy, & incredibly refreshing. It has that classic nostalgic flavour you can't find anywhere else, & it's worth the visit alone.
The poutine was also very satisfying: crispy fries, generous cheese curds, & a rich, flavourful gravy that ties everything together. It's comforting, classic Quebec fast food done right.
Add in the fun atmosphere & the famous giant orange, & you've got a uniquely Montreal experience. Whether you're a local or visiting for the first time, Orange Julep is always a great stop.
My first time trying the orange julep, & the flavor was not that sweet but interesting. Visiting felt like an adventure, & the location, complete with the giant orange is quite amusing. It's a fun stop & a unique landmark in Montreal!
Food: 5/5
Fantastic flavors & great quality across the board. The orange drink had a unique twist that honestly stole the show.
Service: 5/5
Fast, smooth, & friendly - the staff kept everything moving like a well-oiled machine.
Atmosphere: 3/5
Winter didn't help the vibe. The merch was cool, but the interior felt a bit plain this time around. Excited to see how things look in the summer, so I'll update when I return.
Overall:
A satisfying & enjoyable experience with tasty food, refreshing drinks, & very welcoming staff.
Had julep at Montreal's Orange Julep & it was absolutely brilliant- refreshing, unique, & well worth the stop. The hot dog was surprisingly good as well, properly tasty & satisfying. The only disappointment was the poutine, which was rather below average & lacked the richness & balance you'd expect. Overall, still a fun spot with a couple of real highlights, but the food can be a bit hit-&-miss.
Place unique, stationnement gigantesque, ambiance excellente, malgré plusieurs personnes aucune attente ,mon jus d'orange étais super bon ,merci la gagne
Decided to stop by Gibeau Orange Julep before our road trip to QC. I only enjoyed Orange drink. The fries seemed oily & soggy. Service was so-so. Too many flies around to sit around & even enjoy the orange juice. Regardless, happy to have stopped by!
'Gibeau Orange Julep is a landmark in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It's known for its unique architecture & its signature frothy citrus drink. It's a three-story building shaped like a giant orange, made of fiberglass segments covering a laminated wood frame.
The'Orange Julep' is a creamy, non-alcoholic orange drink, with a secret family recipe that may include orange juice, pectin, egg whites, powdered milk, & a hint of vanilla.'
Hey it's a big orange. Bask in the orangeness while you sip the milky frothy orange juice, it's definitely unique 🍊
Very quick service at a unique spot in Montreal. Personally the orange juice was not for me, the orange mixed with milk just doesn't sit right in my head, but others were enjoying their drinks. They also have meal options.
The orange juice is one of its kind, it unique & very nice, however it's over priced
It's a unique orange juice that is a must try in Montreal. It's good but the price is on the expensive side. Is it worth it? Maybe!. At least try once a year before they get too expensive.
Never had an orange juice drink like this before?pretty unique, but surprisingly tasty!
Espérant que ce resto sera encore là longtemps. Le goût unique d'un Julep avec un hot-dog.
Forget fancy, this is pure nostalgia. The iconic "Big Orange" serves up simple pleasures done right. Their steamed hot dogs are perfectly cooked, with that classic snap. & the Orange Julep? A creamy, dreamy, slightly tangy orange drink that's uniquely Montreal. Grab a classic combo & enjoy a taste of the city's history.
I always wanted to try this joint, after 15 years of living in Montreal finally got the chance to try it. The drink is the highlight obviously & it tastes very unique & its creamy in a good way. The hotdogs were ok & delicious. However our fries was almost burnt & black & we couldn't eat them. Overall the food is ok, but i think the vibe of eating in a parking lot in front of giant orange 🍊 is fun & unique. We ate our food & watched some netflix in our tesla & had fun. I recommend it once for the experience.
