Orange drink tastes like a melted down orange creamsicle. Prices are a bit expensive for the food you are getting.
Can't understand the hype. Poutine was below average. The fries were burnt, & there was neither enough gravy nor enough cheese. We ordered 2 small, 2 large poutine with that 1 orange juice jug costed us 85$ something. Juice was just sugar syrup. It is better to go to costco & have a better poutine there.
I gotta chance to try this Montreal iconic place :) the poutine was really really good, I was impressed! The fries were not too soft & I liked it that way. Besides, I also tried the orange juice. Quite new taste for me lol but overall, best poutine so far. Unfortunately :( I did not have a chance to visit the inside. it is def worth the try while visiting Montreal.
I went there as a gag. Saw a tiktoker say the poutine was surprisingly good. I've never had an orange julep before so it was exciting for me to try. I'm very happy I did. My only regret is that I did not buy more julep to go! It was delish! Shoutout to the staff! They are super nice!
Love love love this place. Food was great although we just got a poutine & the orange juice of course. Not sure about their other items. Love the nostalgic feel of the place. It's small where you go in & order but there's some seating outside if you're going during a time where temperatures are mild; otherwise, we just ate in our car which was no problem at all. Parking is free so that was good & there's plenty of spaces so that wasn't an issue at all. It's a no frills experience & will make sure this is an obligatory stop everytime i'm in town.
Vegetarian poutine gravy great option for halal eaters Poutine itself 8/10 Orange juice was really good
They have best poutine in Montreal. The orange juice is not worth the hype. It's more sweet than regular orange juices
I ordered a trio triple cheeseburger with poutine, & it cost $35... Inflation is real. The food doesn't taste good enough to be worth $35... The atmosphere & service are good.
Gibeau Orange Julep is a great spot for a quick & satisfying bite. I got poutine & the Orange Julep drink was refreshing. Since there's no indoor seating, you have to enjoy your food outside at picnic tables or in your car. Fortunately, the weather was on our side, so dining outside was pleasant. The place stays busy, even during non-peak hours, & it's open from early morning until late at night, making it a convenient option for late-night cravings. While the prices can add up, it's still a worthwhile stop for a quick & tasty meal.
Been wanting for a while to see what the hype was all about & ended up being quite disappointed. We went around 1pm in the week service was not too long. We can't see the menu very well however.. the price was crazy 50$ plus tips for one hot dog trio & one burger trio... the only thing that was really good were the homemade fries in the poutine. Their famous drink mainly tastes like sugared juice not very vanilla.. maybe my expectations were too high. The big orange ball which is the building is truly the highlight but I don't think Ill be going again.
Plusieurs disent que c'est cher, mais la poutine est excellente. L'ambiance est unique & le jus un incontournable.
Overall, The Orange Julep is a staple in Montreal, & when arriving- you must have a classic Julep - an experience like no other. Asides from that, I really wouldn't recommend this spot more than a one time thing. The prices are abit exaggerated. For example, for 2 Small Poutines w. Juleps.. it was 40$ without tip. One time thing..
