Garden Room has delicious food. Flavor-wise, everything we ordered was genuinely amazing, & that's what makes this situation so hard to process.
However, during our meal, I found a long, thick metal stick in one of the dishes. The plate was meant for my 70-year-old grandmother. By pure chance, I was the one who scooped it with my spoon before she ate it. Had she swallowed it, I genuinely don't even want to imagine what could have happened. It wasn't a small fragment, it was large enough to be dangerous.
The staff refunded that specific plate, which I understand is technically standard procedure, but given the severity of the situation, it felt like the bare minimum. No escalation, no real reassurance beyond that, which left us feeling uneasy rather than taken care of.
That said, the food itself was excellent, & I want to believe this was a one-off accident. I would love to give the restaurant a second chance someday, but I'm also hesitant, because food safety is non-negotiable, especially when elderly people are involved.
I'm not writing this to be harsh, just honest. Amazing food, but a very serious incident that makes it hard to rate without hesitation.

Super expérience ! Le serveur super gentil. La nature excellente. Nous sommes mes venues pour fêter l'anniversaire d'une copine & ne sommes pas déçue !

I came here for my birthday, great food, great service, great atmosphere. The host is really friendly & welcoming. The restaurant is very cozy & cute.

Perfect date spot, location is beautiful, service was excellent & the food was the best soup I've ever had. Amazing gluten free & celiac safe options as well. This place is amazing. The owner is very kind & has a clear passion for restaurants. Couldn't recommend more.

Nice cute little Thai restaurant tucked between two brick buildings. The food was good however there was some dirt still caked up on the bottom of the lettuce (green curry) that my mom almost ate.

Très bien accueilli par le propriétaire, il a su répondre aux questions que nous avions à propos du menu. & nos plats étaient vraiment ultra bon, avec de bonne quantité. Vraiment une ambiance très agréable, je recommande à 100%
A must-visit! We visit Montreal once a year, & we always make a reservation here to make sure we don't miss out. In fact, this year, we only had time for one meal, so we ensured we stop by here!
