Review Summary

Garden Room - Mae Sri draws praise for its delicious Thai fare, generous portions, and an ambience described as cozy, elegant, and garden like with a glass roof and greenery that makes it feel like a hidden oasis in the city. The menu impresses with authentic flavors and a variety of dishes beyond pad thai, including soups, curries, noodles, and seafood options, often paired with creative cocktails or mocktails; diners repeatedly note value for money and a visually striking setting perfect for dates or groups. Service is frequently highlighted as friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable with helpful recommendations, though several reviews report variability in attentiveness, slow pacing during busy times, and occasional missteps like incorrect orders, dietary mix ups, or uneven spice levels. A few guests mention language or communication concerns or inconsistent experiences between locations, but the overall impression emphasizes atmosphere, hospitality, and tasty, well prepared dishes. In sum, Garden Room - Mae Sri stands out for its aesthetics and flavors, with service and consistency that range from outstanding to mixed depending on the visit.

Lovely restaurant with a green house vibe serving a variety of Thai dishes - salad, rice, noodles, noodle soup - appetizers & delicious desserts. We came twice during our short weekend trip 😇 & enjoyed the Seafood Yen Ta Fo & Banana Roti greatly! Thank you Clayre for your kindness & excellent service!

The restaurant is without doubt very cool looking. When I dined it was quite empty, so it was peaceful. Because of this is can't really speak for the service, I sat at the bar & the guy there was really friendly.

But the food is just okay, ranging from decent to boring. & ultimately not really worth the price point.

I got the:
Mae Sri Rolls, which was nicely crispy & hot. But it wasn't really anything special at 4 rolls for 14$.

Baa Mee Moo (no soup), which was honestly kind of very flavorless. & I think they got the noodles wrong because I'm certain I got rice noodles, not egg noodles. The most flavor I got out of the dish were the individual ingredients themselves, & the occasional bite of black pepper.

The Thai milk tea I enjoyed a lot though.

Dear lord! Where do I begin…
Party of 4 for my birthday.
I just wanna start by saying the place is beautiful & cozy & very social media worthy. Needless to say, I had high expectations from the pictures & my love of Thai food.
Ambiance is ok. It could just use some music to make it a bit more lively.
Service was personable & welcoming. Although I think our general disappointment of the food & drinks ended up having a negative impact in the end unfortunately.
So here it is. The expression'Don't judge a book by its cover' applies here but not in the positive sense.
Everything looks great! But the taste is generally very mid. Not you'd expect from Thai food. & especially not at that price point. I expected elevated street food (which is generally less than 2$ per dish in Thailand) & what we got overcook, what seemed like 10x refried pork belly, noodle texture issues but the absolute worse was OFFENSIVELY SALTY dishes. One component specifically, the ground pork mixture, was shockingly inedible. So much so, that it made the dishes extremely difficult to enjoy. Other dishes were equally also overly salty even without that component in it. Even the drinks were salty!
Our very kind waitress offered replacements but at this point, we almost felt pranked.
The drinks were replaced by half full glasses of canned ginger ales at 5,25$ each…
We were hungry so we ate some but the whole experience was extremely frustrating.
I even felt the embarrassment from our server who didn't even come to bring us the bill or see us out, despite the fact no complaints were made & we were nothing but nice to her.
No compensations or complementary desserts were offered either.
Did I mention it was my birthday?
We all came home with stomach aches & I'm still completely dehydrated, waking up many times during the night to drink water.

Food was decent, but in my opinion noodles were a bit too soggy. I wanted to have the pad ka prow but couldn't justify the cost for the dish. The restaurant has a really beautiful interior. Service was lacking though. It was not packed, but we had to wait for a while to be served water & to be seen.

Our family of four visited for dinner on a Tuesday. We did reserved a table but the restaurant was not busy that night.

The hostess was friendly & welcoming when we arrived, however the server for our table was not as warm & attentive. Nonetheless we still enjoyed our food & the ambiance.

I like that their menu has a variety of Thai dishes & not just the commonly popular pad thai/pad sew. We tried their Sukhothai & Baa Mee Mo noodles, as well as the hainan steamed chicken. Personally the portion was perfect size for me & delicious (not too salty). Though the papaya salad & thai iced tea were just alright, I've had better ones.

Overall it was still a pleasant experience. I'd visit again if I'm in the area.

If you come to this restaurant thinking the'vegan' section of the menu is safe, you are sadly very mistaken. Most of the food is cooked in a fish sauce & is not able to be made otherwise, including food marked as vegan or vegetarian. The only food I was comfortable eating was the vegan fried rice, which was delicious & not made with said fish sauce, but having made the reservation specifically for the pad thai & not being able to eat any noodle dishes, I was highly disappointed. The food was great overall but quite deceiving.

Very good food with an even better vibe (great music selection. The playlist was on point). Lots of great options as well. I had the Baa Mee Moo noodle soup & it was fantastic.

We tried pad thai & boat noodles & they were both delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the cocktail because it was too strong & tasted more like a shot but I guess some people might like that :) For drink I recommend the milk tea. Service & ambiance are great

Flavours were ok but our experience was saddly deceiving. After receiving our drinks (that were good), orders were sent to the wrong table, we were placed at a table close to the entry door & were feeling the cold air everytime someone came in for Uber eats even if we asked when entering to have a table at the back (restaurant was half empty, the tables at the back were never taken throughout our 1h45min stay). Our main dishes came at best at room temperature & asked to correct the situation. We were told they would be remade but only to find that they were most likely quickly reheated in a microwave or something (meatballs & prawns were still lukewarm, my plate missing the same prawn I had tasted before asking to correct the situation). Our Pad Thai was a ball of rice noodles stuck together most likely for being waiting on a shelves somewhere. Noticed the staff a second time without correction. Staff seemed completely lost, we changed 3-4 times of servers. Our table was never cleaned of our previous plates from the appetizer or drinks. Would not recommend for the price, there are other great Thai restaurants in the city for this money.

Overall pleasently surprised. Location: thanks to the glass roof very bright during day & airy environment, rather cozy. Staff: friendly, but service a bit slow. But overall no complaint. Food: • Noodle Green Curry • Dried Noodle with Pork Balls • Longan Sticky Rice Both main dishes were fragrant. Unlike some reviews that say the food is bland, I think that they were properly seasoned. Thai food doesn't always have to explode in your face with flavours. The dishes had subtle notes of various ingredients, be it the lemon leaves, lemongrass, coriander, roasted peanuts etc. It seemed to me as if it was well balanced, subtle, yet well seasoned, so I can't understand some of the bad reviews. Longan sticky rice was not bad too. Not overly sweet. Longan most probably canned... Overall, they seem to serve dishes which you may not necessarely find in every other thai restaurant, which is nice. They upscale certain classic street food dishes & serve certain dishes which are more common in the north of Thailand. In general, if you want to discover thai food other than green or red curry, pad thai etc. I recommend to check out Garden Room.

Great ambiance & cute location. Food was excellent & came at a timely manner. I really recommend the Hainan friend chicken & pad thai. The seafood rad na was tasty also but the noodles didn't stay crispy for long as there was so much sauce. Service was lackluster, they gave us another table's order twice. We also had to wait 15 mins after requesting the bill. Kind of disappointment since the restaurant was quite empty.

I ordered Ayudthaya boat noodles & it came in a very big bowl. The taste was authentic as if I was eating this bowl in Ayudthaya. The broth was so good & thick. The meat balls were the best part of it! Very tasty & you will feel the intensity of meat. The beef in the bowl was perfectly cooked & sliced. Then I ordered tapioca & it came with pandan flavor & very thick coconut cream on top. It's such a perfect way to finish my appetite. Furthermore, Thai milk tea was so perfect! Not too sweet & very milky, but too pricy for the small portion of drink. The atmosphere was very cozy & chilling. The opened roof & walls made it even more relaxing to hangout with your beloved ones. The service here was extraordinary. The waitress always made sure my cup of water was full. I'm so impressed, & I will definitely come back here again.

Le Garden Room is one of the cutest restaurants in Montreal with lovely plant foliage & plenty of natural light. The staff are kind & helpful, especially Anna!:) I recommend the green curry with noodles; it paired well with the Pinot Grigio. Very fair prices too!

First time trying Thai food & it did not disappoint. I tried the seafood noodles soup & pad thai & they were a treat. The spring rolls were also very tasty.

I got the beef noodle soup, sooo flavorful. My friends all enjoyed their dishes as well (boat noodle soup & the pad see ew). I loved the addition of fried garlic & the spice level was great. We came on a Sunday evening & while busy, they quickly found a table for us out front. Less vibey than in "the garden room" but quiet enough on a summer day.

Beautiful restaurant with plenty of light & greenery. Cute patio for the summer as well. My brother has celiac & they accommodated us & showed us a few items on the menu that would be safe for him! The food is excellent - but somewhat inconsistent. I came once when it wasn't as busy & ordered the pad Thai. It was delicious & flavourful. However, I came back again on a busier night & I found it to be a bit dry. The soups are insane - packed with flavour, protein & veggies. Everything a good soup should be. I recommend the boat noodle soup, the Tom yum & the Ba Mee Moo soup. Definitely recommend

Gorgeous food & gorgeous place! The scenery was beautiful & outdoors, & the washrooms were quite clean. We went in on a Saturday morning & immediately got seated. We ordered two Pad Thais & the Pad See Ew from their expansive & large menu. It took about 15 minutes for the food to come. The Pad Thai was packed with flavour & perfectly sweet combined with the sourness of the lime. The noodles were a bit soft for my liking, but my friends found it to be perfect! The standout was the Pad See Ew - the noodles were chewy & flavourful, but the kale was tough & hard to bite into. We were served by Benjamin who was extremely kind, informative, & fun! We loved the vibe & cool atmosphere - we would 100% come visit again to try their other dishes.
